I heard the song "Nasty" on Shade45, it was pretty dope. Anybody know anything about the song and when it was recorded and for which album/project?
-
Unfortunately, like Raekwon & Lloyd Banks & some other artists, he's making one of those sequel albums.
"Illmatic 2 Death". Kinda clever, but can't believe he's tarnishing the greatest CD of all-time with a sequel.
It'll be his last album. He said in a recent interview "I came into the game Illmatic & I'm leaving the game Illmatic".
It's set to drop sometime in October. But it'll probably be pushed back to 2012.

That was it. But he recently changed it to "Illmatic 2 Death".

Cool didnt hear that. Enough with the sequels already.
-
Chillin wit Rae must of been the reason for the sequel title but i agree it sound stupid but so did Life Is Good. Also not feelin him sayin its his last album but with the state of rap right now dont know if i can blame him.

I'm loving that title. I'm usually against sequels to classics, but with that title you know it's gonna be heat.
FYI, this song is a leftover from Illmatic, not from the forthcoming sequel album. Lots of cats getting that twisted.
Peace.
-
^Yeah, heard that. He's throwing one or two other leftovers from the OG Illmatic on here too.
-
I've heard all proceeds are going to militias in Africa to help them slaughtering eachother
-
I think y'all bugging on Illmatic 2: Death title. Where's the source? That was an April Fools joke somebody pulled. Last I read he was thinking about scratching the title Life Is Good so people don't think it's commercial music. Plus, Nasty wasn't recorded over a decade ago. Listen to the lyrics, it's about his present.

Yeah. Apparently that was Marley's idea & Nas ran with it.

For real you gotta be stupid if you think this song is from Illmatic
-
What?? "Nasty" was a leftover from Illmatic?

Correct.

Holy shit when did that news come out? When the track came out, it sounded new to me
-
The vocals can't be from the 90es ... it's clear from Nas ton of voice

Cham is either trolling or fucking stupid?

All proceeds are going to Kelis for winning the most outrageous child support case in the history of life.

LOL, you niggas slay me.

That's what I was thinking. How the fuck can Nas afford to retire?
And regarding the sequel idea, he already did it once with "Stilllmatic". I guess sequels to albums are a lot like sequels to movies for me. If it's inspired, cool. However, stuff like "Hunger For More 2" or whatever Fat Joe sequel album he puts out don't qualify. I also thought that way about the second Regulate... G-Funk when it was gonna be a digital EP.

That's how the Feds get at Nas for some of things he says that they don't like.

That's What I'm saying :-\
-
^They just enhanced the sound of the song. You don't think 20 years later we don't have updated technology to do such a thing?

Nothing about the song really sounded like it was from the Illmatic era. The shit sounded as new as it could be. It's not that hard to tell the difference between a Nas track fromn 94 and from 2011.
And like Henchmen said, Nas already used the sequal idea with Stillmatic. Anyway... bottom line the song is dope.
-
Either provide a source or you're just bullshiting
-
Nas wrote it on his Twitter a couple weeks ago.

well then this certainly makes the track even more compelling if it was done back then.

Agreed. He said he waited to release it because he wanted to show how people wouldn't be able to tell the difference. A sign that he's stayed consistent over the years.
Truly GOAT status.

Show me the tweet. Cham, I'm pretty sure you're full of shit and simply wrong.

I would if I understood how Twitter worked.

For the record, it's not. It's 20 years old.

Why are you bullshiting us? There is no such thing as Illmatic 2 Death
-
IF that is true that there will be a couple Illmatic leftovers placed on the album, how awesome for us fans would it be to find mastered versions of "Deja Vu" and "Life Is Like A Dice Game" on the new album.....
-
^Na, this is the only one.
-
Hahahah, fuckin clowns.
-
Hahahah, fuckin clowns.
For real.
-
its pretty embarassing when so called nas fans cant even tell they difference. i mean yes he maybe using the same 94 flow but its prety fucking obvious. sometimes i wonder if people actually listen to music or just pretend. if u cant tell the difference between 94 and 2011 just stop listening.... lol 8)
-
HAHA.. How could you fool them? All they had to do was listen to the lyrics.
"my jewelry in HD"
"pumpin Biggie the great legend"
-
nas hasnt switched up his flow since 94, thats why yall cant tell if its new or not lol
Why should Nas switch his flow?
When you have the greatest flow and voice hiphop has ever witnessed, why change it?
-
What's the point in the tom foolery? Some one wanted to know what project and all you shovel out is shit.

It takes more time to ask Dubcc than it does to ask Google.
& Google will give you the right answer. :firedevil:
