i personally prefer the 'mafia' style of the older games than the new 'boyz n the hood' style. its a cool game....im having a lot of fun with it...have been playing it for a couple days straight now lol. i like the fact that you have to keep yourself healthy by eating right and working out and stuff...and how you get respect by the missions as well as from your haircut, clothes, etc....i can't wait until my respect level is high enough to run a big gang. the graphics could be better though....a lot of times during the game if its during a sunrise or sunset or just in a darker part of town you can't see much at all...and when it rains it looks like crap...

mafia style?? again? why? ??? the last 2 games had mafia's...i think its time that they did something new with this game, and they did. i like this alot better then the previous GTA games...and besides i heard that the mafia is in vegas section of the game, so its all good.

yeah i keep forgetting to feed my guy too....its cool how swimming and riding bicycles and running builds muscle though.
i do wish they would've toned the swearing down a bit....i dont have a problem with people swearing but they do it so much in the game that it just starts to sound stupid....but yeah being able to respond postively or negatively is really cool

cant say ive ever lived in LA during the early 90's, but im going to go out on a limb and guess they swore alot. Hell i swear alot, and it doesnt bother me.
As for the type of game. Who cares if its not "mafia" they've already done two of those. Gotta switch it up or else it would kind of get old (storywise)

sooooooooooo much shit to do, the burglaries are the craziest too, you can basically go into any house you want.
soupin up the lowriders/cars is quite impressive I might add too.
I love this game.. Im trying to avoid using cheats too.

im still just kind drivin around and exploring...the last mission i remember completing was throwing boxes at rider....i still can't kill that guy freddy that Og Loc wants to kill....he's hard....the cops are ruthless in this one...a lot harder than the last one. very cool

i've spent $15,000 on my lowrider...the cops are a bigger pain in the ass on this one, it seems everytime i try and take over a gang territory, there's 8 cops around

i can't seem to make much money....i dont get much out of killing people and none of my missions have gotten me much either....havent found any of the casino's....and my lowrider is still lame so its kinda pointless for me to race it right now
i almost killed that bastard og loc.....i literally almost got off my bike and shot him....during the mission where you have to chase down freddy....i crashed the bike and got back on and that dude stood there in front of me for like 2 minutes...wouldn't get on the back...i had to run him over and make him get back up before he got on the bike....asshole :P

i found an off track betting place pretty early in the game and happened to double my money there, then when you start taking over hoods, you get a money icon...i usually take over 3-5 hoods and go back home and you'll see about $1000-$2000 just sitting there, plus all the money you get from killing gangbangers
i also found a bouquet of flowers that pop up in the weopon inventory, i haven't given them to my girlfriend yet because i think she's too ghetto to appreciate flowers

yeah with the mission to kill freddy on the bike, just get to know his route, then its easy to chase him and not shoot.. then he'll bring you to jefferson area i think, you just kill him and drive og loc to burger shot or whatever its called..

when you get to a certain point, the areas start becoming color coded between you (Grove St) the ballas and the hispanic gang...
then all oyu'll have to do is kill three gang members while on foot and while you're in their turf and you'll start a gang war... then they'll be three waves of gangmembers with increasing amount of fire power coming at you, once you kill them all, the hood is yours
i've died a couple times on wave three of a gang was but it seems to still give you the hood, but on the map it will be a veeeery light green color

i finished that mission with og loc....almost right after i posted about him not getting back on the bike....this game is way harder than the old ones but its a lot more fun in some parts. you can do so much more....i think tonight im gonna start trying to take over different hoods. i found that betting place but i lost doing the horse races.....i saw a property i could buy also but i didnt have the money at the time and now i cant find it lol

my guys got his strength maxed out his respect is maxed out and the life bar is maxed out, no fat and the stamina bar is about 85% done...he's gangster with the pistol, shotgun and machine pistol and a hitman with the SMG and AK47and i own about 5 or 6 houses
and the best part is the game says i'm only 18% done ;D

that 3rd wave of gang members always kills me they got AK-47s and shot guns and shit that kill u in like 2 or 3 shots.. also theres drug dealers and if u kill them u get a shit load of money, thats how i got all my money

having it bother me and having it annoy me are 2 different things....if it bothered me that would mean morally i wouldnt like it....and as far as it goes morally....i could give a fuck less ;D.....it just gets annoying to hear the word fuck inserted 4 or 5 times in the same sentence...starts to sound very redundant

ok here's my findings so far...
- Killing rival gang members is good for your respect meter...i'm up to 2,000 something dead...also the few missions and all the gang territories have all helped out
- when taking territories, always give yourself a lot of room to see the guys coming...look for the straightest road and just post up on one end and let them come to you. if shit starts getting crazy, run for cover and look for health/vests laying in the streets....and if push comes to shove, find a car and run some over...always pic up their guns and always use the fastest most powerful (which happens to be the AK47 so far) also stock up on some grenades for crowd control
- your looks only raise your "sex appeal" meter
- leading gang members is almost useless...they're dumb as rocks and don't even eat that many bullets for you, i usually just post them up on corners and try to make my escape when things get hairy
-for two players...once you get your girlfriend, you'll see a two player icon on her door step...haven't had anyone play it with me yet...i've also found one in an abandoned building near the house you start out at (i think it's to the north, north-east and along side that highway

I came across a 2player icon very early in the game, I've forgotten what part of the city I was in, but yeah...........2skulls.......or were they faces.
The game is coolies, I haven't gotten far @ all, only done 2 missions. 1 crack up thing r the Samoan guys in the game, lol. 'Ufa'.......'Fia fusu' (want to fight?).....oh man, this game is orsm. The spacey games are coolies.............pool...... :).
PSTwo was released down here in NZ a couple days ago, they kept saying we're the first to get it.........b4 Japan & u guys, thas unheard of. Thinking of trading in my old one 4 it.

the first few missions don't really raise your respect that much, it's when you start taking over hoods that you get huge boosts

tons of casinos, most of the houses you buy are just suites so far there's parts where there's 3-6 shops all together...you learn boxing techniques at the gym the desert missions are pretty fun...
and the only gun i've noticed me carrying two of is the pistol

you target a friendly gang member with R1 and then press up on the D-Pad, you'll see the Gang Strength meter increase
and the reason i never have dual machine gus is probably that i'm an AK fanatic
Also there's a rumor on the internet that there's a big foot somewhere in the game and you can hear him when you walk through the forests...a few people said they've seen him

At times, YUP. :)
But not all the time, a big part of the game is supposed to be rainy, foggy, grey, etc.
While more boring than sunshine, they pulled bad weather off really well, making it look/sound very realistic..
At one time I was stuck in the middle of nowhere after speeding off a cliff in a car, got stuck in the water and had to walk some km's back to civilization, and a storm blew up, thunder and lightning, and with earphones on, it sounded and looked amazing.. :o
Definitely a BIG step forward from Vice City.. not only graphicswise, but also in terms of size, realism, sound and story.
It might just be the best game I have ever played, and I have barely started in the 2nd city.. 8)

The graphical effects in this title are far superior to anything GTA conjured up previously. On hot days you'll see an intense heat in front of you in the form of lots and lots of orange sunlight and heat waves in the distance. The sunsets and sunrises during hot times are absolutely blinding!

This game gets REALLY good. By far one of my favorites ever.
Some 007 type shit happens in the truth missions, and just when you think you've seen it all, they whip something else out. I just got sweet out of jail, and I the game is still fresh as hell.

you have to fly over to liberty city and kill somebody its a mob hit.....but you dont acctually get to roam the city....it just cuts to a outdoor scene where its snowing and then you go inside and the whole mission is inside the building and a little piece of outside....but nothing too crazy....i finished the game like 2 days ago and its still good .....now im just doing all kinds of shit i hadnt done earlier.....like tags, horse shoes, and oysters.... also all the races and stuff like that.......love this game.
