Nas, without a doubt. The results of this poll are going to be pretty obvious tho - you just can't ask dubcc to put their westcoast bias aside. On any less biased forum Nas would've gotten more votes, but I can't really blame y'all. Imo Nas as a rapper is a lot better than Pac tho. Nas is really showing us personal growth (God's Son, Street's Disciple), showing us he can keep it real instead of putting up a gimmick. For as long as he lived, Pac has been mainly doing the same type of music; representing the streets, putting in a little politics every now and then. Nas is just more than that, he went from a young cat with street knowledge to someone who isn't afraid to show his emotions and live his life in a normal way without being concerned about losing street credibility. Just doing himself. I somehow always had the feeling Pac was putting up an image too much.
Don't mean to disrespect Pac - all of these "2Pac vs..." polls are meaningless anyway because when Pac died he was only a few years deep in the industry. Ain't no comparing Nas, who's been around for 14 years, to Pac, who had like 4 years to get his shine.

Itīs hard to back up the statement that Pac is a better rapper, but of course in many peopleīs book, Pac is, like said twice, "just untouchable", thatīs why they will always vote for him in any kind of poll, and thereīs many people on dubcc like that. While I donīt understand that, Iīm not gonna diss it, itīs just the way it is (no insinuation intended).
My vote def goes to Nas though; despite a bunch of mediocre songs and a pretty wack album, heīs one of the few MCīs who really have it all. Great voice, ill flow, good lyrics that do go past the pseudo-profound shit every other hiphop artist will think of as deep lyricism, a unique talent to paint pictures and depict his environment, a big catalog of great stuff and last but not least what is by general consensus the best hiphop album ever.
Pac, on the other hand (I know Iīm not saying anything new) benefits a lot from having been killed. Maybe if he hadnīt been, every two months or so a new "damn, Pac fell off hard" thread would pop up, like in Snoopīs case. We canīt tell. As a rapper, Pac wasnīt bad, but not all that either. He had a great voice and passionately written lyrics he delivered in a unique and intriguing way. But he didnīt have one hell of a flow, his lyrics were never very elaborate, he wasnīt an innovator etc...
therefore, itīs easily Nas for me

You can make ____ (<---insert rapper here) vs. Pac almost anywhere, and Pac will win this 9 outta 10 times.
Simply the biggest icon and most universal figure that hip hop has and most likely ever will see. Thats really all there is to it. He is to rap what the Beatles/Led Zeppelin are to rock: the standard by which ALL other artists of the genre are measured by.
