Title: Black Wall Street could have been a factor...
Post by: Webby05 on November 02, 2009, 04:25:45 PM
with a line up like this, and the right promotion...

Eastwood, Glasses Malone, Ya Boy, Techniec, Cyssero, Clyde Carson and Young Life.

Shame Game sees BWS as a crew rather than a record label, prob why all (except Clyde) have moved on.

Too bad The Game doesn't give a fuck about really running a record label.

Game gave all those niggas a chance at the height of his popularity - they ruined it.

Cyssero thought he was worth a milli so he didn't sign. Where has he been since?
Techniec thought he was bigger than just a sidekick for Game. Where is he now?
Eastwood, Ya Boy left to do their own things...now they're back just hanging around his studio.
Yung Life signed to Suge then his label got shut down - haaa!

G.Malone is the only one who did shit.

But you can have the greatest artists are in the world. If your business ain't right in terms of contracts and avenues for distribution, you really don't have anything. It think labels might have been hesistant to do a deal with Game because of the G-Unit/Interscope fall-out but who really knows for sure?

He released a mixtape a while back.

Techniec thought he was bigger than just a sidekick for Game. Where is he now?
Released a mixtape recently, hosted by September 7th and had songs with Tiny C-Style. Though the sound quality was horrible.

Eastwood, Ya Boy left to do their own things...now they're back just hanging around his studio.
Last I heard Eastwood was signed to Murder Inc. West and supposed to drop a mixtape with a song that has Crooked I on it. Ya Boy was never signed to BWS, but is signed to Hoo-Bangin'. At this point I think you've heard about his Kush 2009 & Mohawks & Heavy Metal mixtapes.

Yung Life signed to Suge then his label got shut down - haaa!
If he got some material in the Death Row vaults then Wideawake might release him on their next box-set.

G.Malone is the only one who did shit.
He was never signed to BWS. But do you call pushing albums back due to fear of flopping doing shit?

once big fase, g ride and fat rat left that was the end to bws
I miss how Fat Rat used to diss G-Unit on Game's mixtapes, they were hysterical.

Game is a good rapper no doubt, but a buisness man and a CEO of a record company he isnt.

He latches on to people for guidence. He doesnt care about developing artists he doesnt want anyone to be bigger then him.

Featuring them on mixtapes is hardly giving them a chance.

I think one factor is that game's pie was being cut up and shared between so many ppl @ the height of his popularity.

This meant that he couldn't get a label deal without jeopardising his own capital.

BWS is just a symbol under which u can try and get a deal for yoself

Glasses Malone got some new tight shyt called "Nightmare on 7th Street.  He the only one still working the scene...plus he got that song spinning on the radio out here...some cats just can't be stopped, no matter what's going on with the label...

he still got a good roster...Clyde really got hots and a deal...still wonder why he isnt famous and dropped a album...maybe he is too high...many people hate on Juice...but he would sell...with his Jay-Z-Coxky-Attitude..many kids would buy this and last but not least The Menace...he is really dope and could drop some Gangsta shit!

the rest of the squad is B.S.!

Game could have certainly done more for those guys but saying the West is dead because of that is definitely an overstatement.

Ya Boy & Clyde should be much bigger names than they are.

both really talented; give them the right promotion & the right features on an album & they could get some nice radio play.

actually, i would bet that was their intent when they decided to be part of BWS, that Game was going to do something for their careers, but those dreams were shattered lol.

I don't know about Ya Boy, but I gotta agree on Carson, that Two Step song could have been a monster single.

One thing about BWS is that despite the lack of attention it's artists get, they always deliver bangers. Clyde Carson and Juice's mixtapes weren't dissapointing. X.O.'s had some dope cuts as well, and I'm hoping BWS eventually releases something from La Goon and Elijah. Haven't heard The Menace's material yet, didn't even know he was on BWS TBH.
But in the end I don't think many people know who are and aren't on BWS at the moment.

BWS is nothing but a name. it aint a label.
the artists who are supposedly on BWS are just used as hypemen and promoters for game.
artists who are supposedly on BWS will all come and go, like the ones before them.
game will get them to wear his BWS chains temporarily when they are in public, or at concerts, and then after that he'll take the chains off them.
game's too cheap to even give his artists chains that they can own, as part of being on BWS. i bet they dont even get paid a dime for being on BWS.
their only source of income i think would be a few bones for being hypemen for game at his concerts.

atleast 50cent looks after his artists, and pays them for being signed to his label. game needs to drop the charade that BWS is anything more than BS.
why would anyone in their right mind want to sign a contract to a label that doesnt functionally exist. out of all the artists on BWS in the past,
not one of them has been featured on any of game's solo albums. game doesnt give a fukk about nobody, but himself.
thats why he doesnt push his own supposed artists. he dont want anybody to take away any shine from him, and is too busy caring about his own career,
but still insists on having his own artists on a fake label sitting on the pine bench doing nothing but getting older and staying broke.
