Amazing! Keep bringing in the exclusives, Chad. We appreciate it!

wow, this is better than i xpected
Like someone on an earlier Snoop Wideawake post asked, I wonder if that "Eat A Dick" produced By Dre is an Eazy E diss?
-
You weren't kidding when you said the tracklist wouldn't dissapoint. This seems like the kind of project that this forum, in particular, has been waiting on. No having to deal with all these $35 bootlegs where if 95 people buy, they'll ship it in two months and all that other crap.
-
Tracklist is really good, better than one sheet press release
I will have to grab a copy from best buy, it will be money well spent 8)
CANT WAIT, SUPPORT THIS YALL SO WE CAN GET VOL2 !!!
-
Damn with the BestBuy cuts this will be the first CD I have purchased since Cali Iz Active and Laugh Now, Cry Later
-

Where did you get this from?
-
Is there anywhere else that supplies Bestbuy product that ships to the UK?
-
it was posted as a pdf in the other thread
-
Nice! Lara Lavi seems to be sticking to the plan. With Re-Lit coming out, and now Lost Sessions so soon after, I remember her saying that there was a 4 Disc Death Row set and a Danny Boy album due also before years end. Looking good.
Even if the shit's average, it'll be head and shoulders above anything Snoop's dropped since he left No Limit, other than Blue Carpet Treatment.
-
I believe Wideawake tried really hard to include"Next Episode" and "Street Life" but were unable to get clearances for both Dre's and 2pac's vocals. Still this will be his second best DR album.
-
Damn that tracklisting is insane, fuck yes! Thank you Lara!! :-D
-
Still this will be second best DR album.
Hard to tell when I haven't actually heard it but it's not technically an "album".
-
Anyone willing to purchase a 2nd bestbuy album and sell it on here? Reason I ask, is because bestbuy can be shady at times. There was an admin worker on there called Joanne who promised 2 CD's in the past which contained bonuses, and my money was taken but no CD was ever sent, and because it was done privately it wasn't claimable
-
Well worth the price based on a CDQ version of "Doggystyle" along.....although at least 4-5 tracks on there have been released in some form
-
2. Doggystyle (Produced By Dr. Dre) (background vocals by George Clinton & Jewell)
:o my life would be complete.
-
Still this will be second best DR album.

Right it's a compilation comprised of studio scraps. The same can be said about all the 2pac LP's post "Makaveli". The production here is on point: You got 4 dre tracks, at least one done by DJ Quik(Caught Up) and possibly Pooh, Daz, LT Hutton, and Soopaly behind the boards. Heck they even inserted interludes to round out the project. We can forget about the half-assed DMW and Greatest Hits from before. It's a win, win situation. 8)

Is there anywhere else that supplies Bestbuy product that ships to the Europe?
-
Anyone else surprised that Daz and Kurupt aren't on more songs?
-
FUCK YEAH!!!! coppin 3 best buy editions for sure. i never thought i would see the day that this would happpen. im sure the music will sound very very dope/classic. im almost proud to be a deathrow fan again. copped the chronic-relit and it was worth the 10bucks spent at best buy. can't wait to hear the Pac album next year... buy this shit ppl!!! this was the reason we had wet dreams in the 1st place.
-
Anyone else surprised that Daz and Kurupt aren't on more songs?
IMO I can see wideawake doing a dogg pound project in the near future and would imagine saving any kind of colabos for that release since Snoop dont really need features to sell

I'd be interested in this, too!
can we get someone to help us europeans w/o US military addresses?
-
definitely looking forward to this, good job wideawake

Quik's got a track on there too? "Dead Man Walking" was alright. It seemed like they were trying to use more recent Snoop to give it the feel of a new Snoop album so they could compete with "Last Meal". "Greatest Hits" was kind of a weird project. It was mostly Doggystyle tracks and a shit load of new stuff. They didn't even have "Snoop's Upside Ya Head". I thought the worst of those kind of albums was 2002. So much stuff that was already used on DPG Recordz releases and lots of odd choices. A very disjointed project.

deathrow forum admin said "Caught Up" is not the Snoop/Kurupt song from the Caught Up Soundtrack. Its a solo Snoop unheard song.
cover artwork is the final one
The "Best Buy" Bonus of Snoop - The Lost Sessions Vol 1 will be available online from Napster.com 10/13/09!!
-
ahhh i cant wait to buy this one.
Its a real shame they couldnt get clearances for Next Episode and Street Life.
How are overseas fans meant to get the bonus tracks?
surely that will entice people to download.

Dead on analysis.
Dead Man Walking wasn't bad, just very unorganized. And you're right, it did sound like the more recent Snoop DR matrerial @ that too.
Doggys Hits was cool for Head Doctor, Midnight Love, Too High, and Keep It Real were fucking tight. Buth where was the Doggfather stuff? And even the classics off Murda Was The Case (besides the title track) or Above the Rim?
And 2002 was vomit; Besides Living Gangsta Life (which was already out), that album was garbage. When I heard the remix of just Doggin on that shit, I knew it was downhill from there...
TBH, I'd kinda like to Hear Dead Man Walking with the original beats
-
Doggystyle was an amazing album
Neither Snoop or Death Row has been able to match it since
-
this is what i've been waiting for since 1994

The "Living Gangsta Life" on 2002 sucked though. The production was better on the other version and they had to include the whole Snoop diss intro, even though it was way out of place on a Dogg Pound album. I liked their version of "Crip With Us" better than the Dillinger & Young Gotti "Dipp Wit Me" though. It was just a mess though. You had older Death Row songs. Remixs of already-released songs. Daz solo tracks. The DJ Clue "Change The Game" remix? Soopafly songs featuring Kurupt. You'd think with all the DPG material that they have (Daz was on the label longer than anyone so there must have been a lot to choose from), they could have organized a better project than that.
-
ill be buying this! i hope the release date sticks. any "from the vault" tracks for download or anything? finally, iv been waitin for "Doggystyle" cdq for a long time! its got0 good features this album cant be bad, its classic Snoop. now all we need is Next Episode, Every Single Day OG, Its On, Cant C Me, Crooked Cop, Hoe Hopper, in cdq ;D

What is it with Dre not wanting his vocals to be there but lets his productions to be there? Or does he have no rights to his beats since Suge propably jacked them from him.

we'll get to hear in the future. This is one I'll be buying for the collection
-
WIDEawake cannot use unreleased Dre vocals. Its been said since the old Death Row but noone lets it sink it. Unless a deal with made with DR. DRE songs like that cannot and will not come out.
-
wow, just wow!
-
Doggystyle in CDQ= Instant purchase!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope it wasn't dre being STUPID and not signing the Next episode off.
-
Oh hell yeah, tracklist looks real fine to me. Definitely will be buyin' this.
-
looks very nice..wish they had the original version of county blues on there (maybe on Vol II)
-
^^whadup LBC!! long time no talk, hope its all good brother^^ 8)
-
IF they ever release The Next Episode, it should definately be on the re-release of Doggystyle, at its intended track slot.
-
This looks dope as fucc.
-
I think the whole board should be required to buy this to be a member here  It's what we've all been waiting for. Hopefully WideAwake pays Snoop his royalties and Dre sees that and then trusts WideAwake enough to sign off on his vocals being used from thereon.
-
Will def be buying this, good to see that wideawake are sticking to what they said they would do and as long as they do that they will keep getting my money.
Just gutted about the bonus tracks only been available at best buy !
-

most likely to do so, if it will be available in EU

Cosign homie. I mean this has the potential to be a really dope ass album.
-
Damn this is dope...gotta remember to scoop this up.
-
my goodness me, this is incredible. the traklisting is sick if you look at guest appearances, producers. unbelievable. it just makes you think you wish you had a tracklisting like that now a days
-
So does anybody have any clue on how much material that DJ Quik has done for Death Row that remains unreleased? We all know he was close with the label during those years. Would love to hear a few unreleased productions by him.
CaughtUp probably knows.
-
That tracklisting looks just crazy :o so glad they finally opened the Vault
8)
-
when i take a look at the marketing sheet tracklisting i'm not so hyped about it anymore *lol*

^^^^^
Don't think that's accurate anymore
-
The Next Episode? I wonder if that will ever drop.
-
The Next Episode? I wonder if that will ever drop.
That's a very hard situation. They say Dre is preventing it cause of his vocals. But remember the track WAS suppose to be released, but never got released cause they couldn't clear a sample intime. Fuck, 1 of the best west coast gems lost cause some prick couldn't clear a fuckin sample. So this leaves the tracks legal status ambiguous. Obviously it was done under Death Row's contract and was suppose to be apart of Doggy Style, but because it never got released its unclear if Dres lawsuit can legally prevent it.
-
The Next Episode? I wonder if that will ever drop.
i think it will be on "Doggystyle Re-Lit"
-
i think that Hoes track is the same track on Smokefest with Uncle Luke
-
The Next Episode? I wonder if that will ever drop.
i think it will be on "Doggystyle Re-Lit"
I don't think we will ever see the song in CDQ, since WideAwake can't release songs that have Dr. Dre's vocals.

Yeah, they really should. If they ain't never gonna release it on anythin', then why just keep it in the vaults.
-
this shit gonna go hard! im picking up the best buy joint for sure!
-
I don't think we will ever see the song in CDQ, since WideAwake can't release songs that have Dr. Dre's vocals.
Has that actually been confirmed or is it just a bunch of people assuming it based on one thing or another? The original Death Row was never allowed (or at least never did) release any unreleased Dr. Dre material at all. There was supposedly going to be a track produced by him on Dogg Pound's 2002 but the promoted "Just Doggin" single was actually a remix by Big Hutch. One would think if the agreement was strictly on tracks that featured his vocals, Death Row would have been emptying that vault for years with Dre-produced songs. Nobody knows quite what the deal is yet. One would thing if Dre is a perfectionist and is trying to keep his old shit locked up because he's not comfortable with it, he would be more concerned with his work as a producer than just as a rapper. His value is as as a producer.
-
he could at least make an exception for this track ::)
-
Very impressive....
-
holy shit, this is day 1 buy

the OG Track is the 1 off daz lp on dr..

well what i mean is it the same just with out daz? sorry about that wasnt clear on this..
-
We will see how the original version of "O.G." is, since the version on "Retaliation, Revenge & Get Back" had Snoop Dogg's verse from "Dogg Pound 4 Life" and Nate Dogg was singin' the same old shit he was singin' on "Nobody Does It Better", i think Daz just recycled those lyrics because both of them had already left Death Row.

You mean Rehumped? lol (not my line, stole it from another poster). lol

Damn that beat is tight... is that some released shit? I saw on the comments on that youtube page someone claimed Pac rapped to that instrumental, is that true?
-
I don't think that beat was used. And if i'm right those Nate Dogg lyrics in "O.G." was in "Nobody Does It Better" before "Retaliation, Revenge & Get Back" was released. Snoop Dogg's verse is old too, it's from "Dogg Pound 4 Life" and i think both of them had already left Death Row Records when the album came out. Maybe Daz Dillinger just wanted to have them on the album and recycled both of their old lyrics?

I don't think that's the case. It's definitely not the same recording for either. The lyrics are the same but the flow/delivery is different.

Like I said, I have Lara Lavi interview that's in-depth about the mixing of the projects, the possibility of other unreleased material like Lady of Rage, 2Pac (of course), RBX, Crooked I, actual info on the status of Dr. Dre's material, the Daz/Neu-Ro situation....if it's an interview you want to read, holla at Rud to get the page uploaded so I can drop it...
-
that tracklist looks very dope! Finally Doggystyle in CDQ! I love that song. Definitely buying this. WA doing a good job so far.
-
I bet this album is better than any rap album to have dropped since 2000
-
I'll definately get a copy.

no you numskulls.... 2pac didn't use that beat, neither did NUNE. They used beats that sampled the same song (and if youd don't know what song that was, I'm not talking to you anymore ;) ) as the beat Nate Dogg rode on.
There's no doubt in my mind that the verse Nate spat on Nobody Does It Better, OG and that youtube video, at one point, was intended for his Death Row debute.

WOW amazing tracklist. doggystyle cdq!!!!!!!!!!

Like I said, I have Lara Lavi interview that's in-depth about the mixing of the projects, the possibility of other unreleased material like Lady of Rage, 2Pac (of course), RBX, Crooked I, actual info on the status of Dr. Dre's material, the Daz/Neu-Ro situation....if it's an interview you want to read, holla at Rud to get the page uploaded so I can drop it...
wtf upload it homie, cheers
-
Def going to buy this. Can't wait to hear those Dre produced tracks. Hopefully a few of the others are produced by Daz?
Maybe they would consider releasing Next Episode without Dre's verse? It would be better than nothing.
-
looks good , the Original Snoop music ...

WOW amazing tracklist. doggystyle cdq!!!!!!!!!!
I know. I can't wait. I'm sure a lot of the other tracks on there will be tight too, but it's really worth it just for that track. I've been waiting for years to hear that one in cdq.

that crossed my mind but i don't think it would work since snoop and dre trade verses. it wouldn't sound like any normal song. i'd welcome a hq instrumental even.
-
I don't mean to be negative but I hope this album outsells his last garbage ego trippin just to show him the type of music the fans really appreciate.
-
will snoop be promoting this album? if not he should do

You are right, I forgot they traded verses. Maybe they could get Kurupt to do Dre's part? Ha
-
I don't think it works that way. I'm pretty sure the artist gets credit for the song, even if you take his vocals off.
-
daz & bigg A said that wideawake is only pressing up 35K copies of the "snoop doggy dogg - the lost sessions" album
-

It would've been sick if they could connect and get a video poppin and really push that record, but I doubt that's gonna happen....
But with Suge no longer in charge, and Snoop on Priority (going back to the real street shit?) .... never say never.

i dont think snoop has anything to do with this project, according to daz and bigg A

Ain't it pretty stupid that dogg pound don't wanna promote wideawakes stuff...they would be getting a lil more money anyways and they could do these royalty contracts earlier so there is even no chance of getting fucked over, right?
I guess they are just too much emotionally connected to think like businessmen...and don't say that "they propably make 500k a year, they don't need small money" like you wouldn't want to get basically "free" flatscreen tv's and shit.

Good post. This is what I've been saying too. This is money they wouldn't otherwise be getting. You wouldn't think they'd want to do anything to undermine that.
-
Well lets be totally honest, Daz doesn't exactly seem like the smartest guy around. It's no coincidence that Dre, Snoop, Nate Dogg, and Kurupt have each had some level of success since leaving Death Row (in some cases large amounts of success with Dre and Snoop), while Daz has consistently put out piss poor 'independent' product. And I have nothing against DIY, in fact I totally support it, but the man puts out half ass product.

"free flatscreen tv's and shit" lol. what are you 10? snoop doesn't need money and he certainly does not need a few grand here and there. he makes that much alone from doing a radio drop in some markets.
i want to hear the music as much as the next guy but if the albums have no flow and sound like another oneoone release i'll pass.
-
Snoop hasnt dropped a good album in years, Death Row scraps are better than anything he is capable of nowadays.

Daz already said on the youtube video with Bigg A that they are only giving him 15000 to pretty much have creative control over it, when he gets 50000 just to do a beat for some1. basiccly they need to set there sights a bit higher if they want any involvment from the artists
I think any way lol ;D

Ego Trippin was good and BCT was very good

The 15,000 dollar number is just a misunderstanding between the lawyers.

I really doubt anyone paying Daz 50g a beat

Maybe in his deathrow days... and no I hate, I dig Daz, but who would pay 50g's for his production 2002 - current?

In this day and age, I honestly doubt Daz makes more than 10 g'z for a beat. You'd be surprised what these artists charge for verses and shit. It's not as much as you would think, especially these days. And that's not a knock to Daz but I don't see it happening like that because it's not like there's a demand for his work. What's the last production that Daz did that was out of his regular camp?
-

I think he made some beats for some dudes from Atlanta and didn't he have song with T.I. that he produced?
-
i think daz would have to pay to get his beats on an album in the year 2009

I'm sure you are correct, but the way you answered proves my point. The fact that you couldn't think of song titles or anything shows that they were forgettable tracks.
-
I bet this album is better than any rap album to have dropped since 2000
except for Non Phixion "The Green CD" yes
-
They should have included "It's On" (feat. The Lady Of Rage) on this album.
-
they need to advertise this like mad so they can make alot of money

ditto but they may be putting it on the "females of death row" cd

dope songs but to me they sound like they were unfinished, same with Poor Young Dave. Shame Dre and Snoop didnt keep workin on em i bet they had enough to build a 2nd album before Doggfather
I think Snoop failed to capitalize fully on how big he was. He was huge in 1993-95 he was the king of rap. If he released an album saw in 1995 he may have had another album sell 4-5 million
-
"Fallin' Asleep On Death Row" is dope. I heard somethin' about this project bein' only released in America though, what's up with that?
-
no offence but im grateful that ive heard this trak but you want to hear it when you get the album, kinda ruins the buzz, you get the album and say oh i already heard this trak.
-
Damn, this track is ill. This and the recent leak of the near cdq "Doggystyle" has me really excited for this album.
-

lol do you have to even ask?
look who lara employs and their track record. it's obvious where chronic leaked too. why would the bonuses leak first? hmmmm...

no worldwide distribution so far

I wonder if any instrumental alnums are in the works, i.e., Chronic 92, Doggystyle, Dogg Food, MWTC SNDtrk, etc...
Hmmm, they can't release Dre vocals... But I would mind to hear some old Dre beats, with his vocals wiped.... better than nothing

Fallin asleep on deatrh row sounds really good. snoop was the man back then

Reminds me of that interview with Nima where all that unreleased stuff was played/discussed. It really makes me happy to see him get that excited about tracks like that. Hopefully after he starts seeing some checks from WideAwake he will be interested in helping with some future projects.

was OG produced by Dre
-
If Snoop likes dancin to his old shit he needs to get back on that. I dont mean the beats but he needs to rap with the fire he had back in doggystyle
-

I think it was produced by Daz Dillinger, the original version just sounds like the beat on the "Retaliation, Revenge & Get Back" but with a lil' twist.

I prefer the the RR&GB version cause i like Daz verses but its still cool to hear the original. Cannot wait for this!!!!
-
The chorus in Smoke On is almost the same as the one from E.S.G.'s track "Smoke On" from "Sailin' Da South" album (1995).
Anybody knows where is the original chorus from? Some old recordings?

I think it was produced by Daz Dillinger, the original version just sounds like the beat on the "Retaliation, Revenge & Get Back" but with a lil' twist.
Actually Sean "Barney" Thomas did it. From hearing the song, it seems that another alternative version wasn't made and Daz simply erased Snoop's third verse.

Naah homie, i'm watchin' the credits right now from the booklet and this is what it says.
Produced by Daz Dillinger. Keyboards: Sean "Barney Rubble" Thomas and Daz Dillinger. Drum Programming: Daz Dillinger. Percussion: Carl "Butch" Small. Guitar: Ricky Rouse

you can pre-order the album at amazon now:

Daz Dillinger + Sean "Barney Rubble" Thomas + Carl "Butch" Small + Ricky Rouse = real quality beats

I think if Daz had guidance like that now, with a team of 4 or 5 musicians he could get the quality back in his productions

some dope ass shit in this thread.
love "dont fall asleep", "o.g" "(with an extra verse) and mellow "smoke on".
