1) How much is left to donate?
2) When are they going to address what was brought up in the other thread about CPO never working with Dr. Dre during his time at Death Row?

Don't know what there is to address as far as the CPO situation goes. CPO says he never recorded directly with Dre. The person has a master that says produced by Dre....so, either the track was remixed later, CPO was mistaken, or the reel was labeled wrong.
Really don't think it's a make or break thing as far as supporting the project goes. Just assume the track wasn't produced by Dre, then you won't be disappointed. Obviously no one will ever know for sure. There are released songs now that weren't produced by the person the liner notes said. This isn't anything too abnormal in the music world.

Much appreciated 8)

ok, so i want to donate... but b1 banned me because the admins there are crooked.
how do i donate and receive the project?
-
I think DJ coma or lost sklanless or whatever it is has accounts here too so could try that method jmix.

I was initially going to contribute but I don't see the point of releasing songs in degraded quality, if they gave us the same digital source they ripped then I'll be more inclined. We should be creating a resource of all the best quality files and collating them as one collective.

I'm surprised you are uninformed on this. They're released in "degraded quality" because that's how the source received them, and they didn't have a choice. Would be great if we could get this stuff lossless but that was never an option. The only place these songs exist in better quality is in the vault.
-
I'm only gonna pay if they release the original sam sneed lp! Fuck wideawake!!!

There is a point though...I'd rather have them in a lower quality than nothing at all. Not every unreleased song has to be perfect flawless FLAC quality for me to want to listen to it. When The Chronic first came out and the jump was made from cassette to CD, we all thought it sounded amazing and was the best quality possible. Now it sounds pretty rough. You don't think as technology advances, these files you're getting in FLAC now won't sound like shit in 20-30 years?? Just enjoy the music. I wish people would stop worrying so much about quality.

I haven't been following these projects, but if these are only in 128kbps or something, it's not worth the money.
It's 2016, that kind of compression is very noticeable on any respectable sound system.

Hahaha what a stupid viewpoint. Hey Dumbass.. These are the only way we can hear these. Idiots like u is why these projects dont sell through the roof and only to a few smart buyers.
Lol go ahead and hold your breathe for any of these songs to be released officially. If this was released in 1997 on a pressed cd you wouldn't have the knowledge to disqualify them from being listenable, which they aren't by the way. Ur skepticism is why I donate to have these gems.
Hahaha i guess stupid fans are just as moronic as the record companies for not releasing stuff lile this. Lol what a kook

Fair enough I trust you C Man. However this happened in the past when I received songs from some people and they gave me this degraded top Dogg song which later came out from them in CDQ. So when people on the scene accused them of degrading the 2pac songs you can understand it's easy to be suspicious.

It's not about flawless but I would personally give people the exact same files I own as I don't like re-encoded files. Archiving is actually going down hill nowadays which is ironic because we have the technology. Anyway I'll digress and pitch in something as like you said 'something is better than nothing' (this is how they get us by the way. They know that we have no choice so without boycott they'll just keep it to themselves and the scene will die once again. It's a vicious cycle).

I don't get all caught up and worried about that kind of stuff, never have. Never into the "scene" or who is behind it or what goes on, etc.....as long as I get songs I can bump in my car or listen to while I work out, I'm fine. Even degraded songs sound fine to me, 128 all day. Cassette rips or radio rips are usually where I draw the line as far as listenability goes. People are spoiled these days...I used to listen to the worst quality Pac leaks on repeat back in 97/98 and thought it was awesome I was even listening to songs only a handful of people had ever heard. Used to order the cassettes from G.Litt and thought they were gold. Now unless the leaks are FLAC, people get upset.

I understand, but I can assure you that for this material it's not going to get any better unless the artists/producers themselves have their own copies they put out there.

I have the cassette single of this song. Kinda cool for something neat to have. Replay value is pretty low, not big into foreign rap, but it's a pretty rare song. Always wondered how JFlexx got hooked up with this guy for a song.

Barney Rubble & J.Flexx did many tracks together. Look at most of J.Flexx's songs on DR, prod. by Barney Rubble, so they were boys, friends, mates in the industry.

He was asking how J-Flexx got hooked up with the Hiroshima, not how he got hooked up with Barney Rubble. Also that link you posted is to the 6 minute album version, which is not the same as the extended club mix from the CD single. The album version doesn't feature J-Flexx and isn't produced by Barney Rubble.

Here's a good example from 1997. Wu-Tang's "Forever" came with an enhanced CD that also required users to go to the group's website. Here's an article about it ... from 97.

Im not donating 1cent to this project, that the people selling it have not been involved in as artists. Collecting other peoples songs & then selling them. Where does the artist get paid?.
I will just download it like i did the other one.

This is exactly as I feel.
Don't get me wrong, I'm massively grateful towards the people that compile and leak these projects. I love to hear previously unreleased and unheard music from the Death Row Records catalogue just as much as everyone else here, but what right does the person leaking the material have over the music?
I'd give money to the artists in question but not to some random person who just so happens to have hoarded the tracks and now wants money that they're not entitled to.

I hear you but the problem is that the artists haven't put these songs out on their own so we are not given the option to buy them from the artist. The artists could also leak the stuff but they haven't. They have had 2 decades to do this.
Not everybody will want to contribute to these projects and that comes as no surprise. When the stuff leaks and you add it to your collection, make sure to thank the people who did contribute and made it possible for you to hear it. That's all I ask.
-
Is there another level in the works after this one??
-
they don't announce the next level til the current project is almost over. from what i've seen in the past.

I wante this bonus track yessss 8) 8)
Hiroshima – Unspoken Love Feat J-FLEXX prod sean barney thomas
https://youtu.be/tJiXVCW-T8A
I have the cassette single of this song.
Heres the 6min Extended version of the song free to download - http://redmp3.su/570133/hiroshima-unspoken-love.html
He was asking how J-Flexx got hooked up with the Hiroshima, not how he got hooked up with Barney Rubble. Also that link you posted is to the 6 minute album version, which is not the same as the extended club mix from the CD single. The album version doesn't feature J-Flexx and isn't produced by Barney Rubble.
lol yeah i know that. Just posting the mp3 of the song.
If this CD is from 1996, why does it have a website on it?.
Because websites existed in 1996.
I just looked thru my whole cd collection from 1995, 1996 and 97 & NOT ONE of my CDS has a website on it. These are all PURCHASED CDs too. Hrrrrmmmm i smell a rat.
its typical bootlegger fuckery you smell.

There actually are. It's a manual process to give you access after contributing, so there's a delay. Look again on B1.

Are you talkin' about "Just Doggin" a.k.a "Mobbin' With Tha Dogg Pound"? It was recorded back in '93 or '94. It even was on the "Above The Rim" movie.

Was talkin bout I'll do it. Some nice new ruffs in the VIP section for people who payed.
-
finally we get to hear the complete version of "that was then" ft big pimpin'. super nice! also 3 more ruffs when u make purchase.
-
$475 to go before this project comes out, help out please dubcc! I need some new "old" music to listen too!
-
Me, personally, I'm only interested in hearing like two songs on here. If the tracklist was a little bit better, the goal probably would have been reached by now.
-
Yeah no wonder the goal wasn't reach yet, except for the first song it's nothing I really wanna hear
-
Better tracklist lol where are we gonna get a better one from e1? Wtf are u talking bout lol Even if I jus don't bang can't c see me next episode etc was on a project people would still come up excuses. 2nd sampler sounds dope!

I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you on this one, if Can't c me CDQ alone was on this compilation I would contribute
-
Didn't say all people lol but it's silly to say just cause those songs aren't available I won't buy anything else, I'm sorry but that is just a straight excuse. We can always wait for e1 I'm sure there tracklists are going to be great
-
for the people who only want 1 or 2 songs from the comp when i drop it... let me know what specific 1 or 2 you want and i'll send u jus those 1 or 2, that way u wont have to bother with the rest.

Are all the levels going to be the same first generation artists or will there be any material from the second generation at all ?

He didn't say he wouldn't contribute unless it had those songs on it. You're putting words in his mouth. And no one is talking about E1 but you. LS is creating these releases, therefore he picks the track lists. I was only speaking for myself when I said I only wanted to hear a couple of songs on here (tracks 1 & 3 specifically). I'm not sure how any one else feels.
We'll just have to wait and see if the goal is reached or not to decide if this particular release generated enough interest. Three weeks is a long time to go, so it's definitely not out of the question.

i would only pay for songs in better quality at least 320kbps and normal complete songs not no ruff mixes unfinished with alternative adlibs lol all these 10 versions of one song must mean that death row vault is gettin dry

people always have lame excuses...
i don't buy a wideawake death row album for $12 because it ain't mastered right
i don't spend $10 on a compilation full of exclusive songs because it`s not official.
i don`t support because i`m a cheap leecher, would fit better in most cases.
-
If this was officially released in the 90s it would'a been one of the labels BEST RELEASES for sure. Every track has that Classic Death Row Sound from that era of the 90s...never even knew these existed till these guys put it together so its definitely worth whatever 8)

Man today's generation is spoiled. So tired of hearin about flac and 320 etc. These are unmastered, 25 year old studio tracks. They aren't going to sound like today's songs that are mastered and recorded with the latest studio technology. Idk how you guys would have survived the cassette tape or record eras in music. I'm sure you can go listen to a flac Fetty Wap album if quality is all you care about.

They're mostly 128kbps mp3's ripped from DAT's. Not perfect quality but "shitty tape quality" is not true.

But these aren't mixed and mastered tracks. These are unreleased DATs that most likely would have been tweaked or gone over more before they would have even made it to the mastering stage. Dre or Quik didn't mix or properly master any of these. Most likely none of these made it to the final mastering stages. They are studio tracks. I don't understand why you are comparing these to officially released, million dollar budget albums like Dr Dre's albums. They were never meant to be heard in the form they're in now. But it's either this or nothing because after 25 years and all the messy legal stuff the Death Row estate has been through, these are never getting officially released. You're living a pipe dream if you think someone like Dre or Quik are gonna buy the library and spend millions on studio time mixing all these and putting out official releases. Aint gonna happen! Best case scenario is someone legally buys the library and they put out the tracks on itunes or something for 99 cents a track in the exact form and quality they find them in...which is what we have now.

are ny87 and every single day from the same source? when efrain put them together they sounds great

are ny87 and every single day from the same source? when efrain put them together they sounds great
No, that wasn't the same source. That was from a reel that was somehow removed from the vault at some point in time and was sold on eBay over a decade ago. That's why we got it in perfect quality.
-
at this point no need to go back and forth with each other, if u dont wanna buy all good. no hard feelings with no nobody, hopefully some people will listen to the project and be happy and contribute next time. thank u to anybody that has chipped in on this or any project i've ever done. sometimes i get emo and lash out cause i've spent alot of my life & earnings tracking down music and people act like it jus dropped in my lap. added danny boy slip & slide ft freddy ranks to the comp. CPO Boss Hogg track was chill...sounds like a funky Dre/Barney Rubble Beat

I am glad this material finally gets released, I remember always waiting almost a year for a Deathrow release, only getting little information from the Source & Rappages. The music before Doggfood and 2Pac I like the most. Thanks for making it happen.

No prob man, your efforts are appreciated regardless.
I do have a suggestion though for the future if you could write a sentence or so with background info on certain tracks etc in the tracklists, that would be helpful and great for marketing purposes as well.

We're pretty lucky to have such hardcore fans going around digging up these tracks. How many unreleased tracks do fans of Michael Jackson get to hear? Or Madonna, or Whitney Houston? Probably only a handful. When was the last time an official 2pac track was released? The fact that we've got our hands on over 90% of 2pac's unreleased catalog and a decent chunk of Death Row's unreleased catalog is pretty cool when you think about it. It's projects like these that are really keeping the music alive. I treat them like new releases and it almost makes it seem like Death Row and the artists are still around doing their thing still making songs.

Didn't think there was that much left... he must have a huge vault of music

Super dope project! Tha dogg pound track both versions after all these years hearing it on the movie for above the rim and now here it is! Dope to hear the rage and Daz track, the Daz and oftb joint wonder what the time line was for that one as it has the same beat almost to respect from dogg food, or if it was and early Dre beat like some of the dogg food joints like some bomb ass pussy was.. I know there was a early freestyle of snoop and Nate dogg over that beat too... I don't know is it's still around or not ..

Yes because YOU are NOT the artist on ANY of these tracks, therefore YOU or WHOEVER'S MAKING/RELEASING them does NOT desever to get MONEY for releasing it.

Have some links to those tracks? Thought the album would be available by now to download.

They will release a link whenever they want which is deservingly so. I'm hearing about a Death Row Kurupt project, if this is true I will for sure donate, especially if its from 93-96 era

I dont bang no more in CDQ would be amazing... Dr.Dre Produced that.... Man, that CPO Track Dre and Barney Rubble did had that classic 95/96 Death Row Sound... If only shit did get out of hand with DR... I am glad we have these projects coming out so we get to hear the true gems that are in the vault

I stopped buying that stuff years ago, so I can care less. If it drops, cool - I appreciate Bomb1st for releasing stuff, but if not, I won't loose sleep over it.

Yes, 93-96 to be exact. Most of them recorded by Kurupt in Philly after 'Pac got killed and he left Cali - so called "West Coast Afterschock" sessions. Around 5-6 original versions/ruff mixes of previously released/leaked tracks like "These Reasons", the rest is never released material including a Dr. Dre-produced song.
-
That's great. I thought they were songs Kurupt recorded in 2002-2004, that's why i asked is it material from Tha Row era.

I don't think many of those tracks from 2002-2004 are left to be released - most fo them got leaked over the years. As far as I know, it's stuff recorded by Kurupt when he was in his prime.

Always wondered about the track "Fresh", there are 2 versions one without Kurupt and the one on "Kuruption!"
was it recorded while Kurupt was still at Death Row? It has that classic sound by Daz

I know there was a early freestyle of snoop and Nate dogg over that beat too... I don't know is it's still around or not ..
It leaked last year and as far as I know is an untitled freestyle. It doesn't feature Snoop Dogg but has Daz, Lil Malik, Nate Dogg & The D.O.C on it.
Do you have it still? I know I had it some where but can't seem to find it on my hard drive or iTunes either, I don't know what folder I save d it in...
Here it is:

The Death Row version has Soopafly on it and he absolutely kills it. Wish it would leak in good quality someday.

yeah I had it once years ago, different beat same chorus from what I remember

Compilation leaked publicly. Really feeling the R&B tracks minus the "Slip and Slide (remix)" and "With Me Tonight" (no reason to have that on there even if it's a "Ruff Mix" given it was on the Inside Out release). Not sure if a Death Row R&B Compilation is on the horizon for Bomb1st, but those are the standout tracks IMO.
It'd be great if someone could remaster "In The City" and "Where The Party At" at some point
