500 bucks...if he appreciated his fans and wanted them to hear "music the way it should be heard" then he wouldn't charge that damn much.
-
sounds reasonable lmao
-
lol, detox logo?
-
only an IPHONE-owning pretentious douche would want to buy that
-
I wouldn't spend $500 on that shit even if they came with ever detox session ever recorded loaded into the muthafuckas
Do somethin for yóur fans for once in your career dre
-
don't these ones cost $500 anyway? fucking joke regardless, release some good music dre...
-
smh Dre, can we just get the album already?
-

it isn't finished

haha i dont know if DRE even got good music left in him after these new leaks (Kush, Under Pressure, Need a Doctor etc)
-
only an IPHONE-owning pretentious douche would want to buy that
fuck no. i have an iphone 4 and i wouldn't buy these ugly pieces
-
Detox hype isn't close to what it was months ago

wasn't singling you out Bundy lol but yes these are fugly headphones
-
seems like a demo version of those headphones leaked... definitely doesn't looked finished.
-
when its all said and done, his headphones will sell more than detox album!
-
when its all said and done, his headphones will sell more than detox album!
well at about 50 times the price of a cd, they wouldn't have to sell that many.
-
get them now kids. Seeing as how the album will never come out, these little expensive babies could be worth a fortune in the future as a rare collector's item.
-
i want you homies to know that my dre headphones snapped (as has thousands of others, look oon youtube) and i am seriously disapointed that dre would put his name on such a shitty product. makes me think its irony in a way that his new music is fragile as hell too... :'(
-

are they solos? i heard they break a lot more, although the studio's aren't that strong either. well these pros are bound to be better, might as well grab a pair for only $500.
btw i haven't heard any of the dre headphones, only that they are all supposed to be stupidly overpriced in terms of price/performance.
-
if you're idiotic enough to spend that much on headphones with Dr. dre's name on it you kinda deserve it when they break
-

i got them as a gift...and seeing as how i tried them out before and they sounded amazing and I have always loved dr dre (nh), it makes sense i would love the gift??!?
Anyhow, they are the solo's and i think my girl got em about $179, which is expensive, but at the same time i got so much love for music and a dr dre collector item (nh again) that i think they are about accuretely priced; however, they break WAY too easy and it is something that would have been impossible to know until it actually happened to me since I got them right when they came out and the word was not out yet...anyway, big fuck up dre
-
I've found that headphones in general break very easily. I've never had a pair of headphones that have lasted more than a year without one side losing sound. So imo its pretty stupid to be spending that much money on something with limited endurance.

some DJ sets are practically indestructible and Beyer make some really hard wearing ones. the Pros are supposed to be pretty strong, but the price of 'em is what you'd pay for some seriously high-end gear. not good value.

yep, and on top of that...these shits broke on my head
https://www.youtube.com/v/xZE3J3ZykAw (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZE3J3ZykAw)
watch this video...this is about how they broke on me...wasnt even drunk or high or nothin haha just on lunch break takin them shits off! I think it is totally unacceptable because these things are marketed to DJ's and they are known to be using them and abusing them and clearly these things (albeit mine were the solo) are fragile as hell
-
Maybe they're waiting to mass produce them so they coincide with the album release ... delays ???
-
only an IPHONE-owning pretentious douche would want to buy that
While sitting in a coffee shop wearing a scarf in May typing on a Mac laptop for everyone to see when they know damn well theyve got an internet connection at home and its hot as shit outside
-
500$ ::)
-
i'd rather save it and add 300$ more and buy an Ipad 2
-
Im gonna order some today.
-
Detox 'logo'? :puke:
-
The Studios sound amazing, I don't regret spending that money at all. I've heard the Tour/Pro ones are uncomfortable as shit and the solos tend to break though. So is that gonna be the official Detox logo then?
-

Do you guys really think Dre has been sitting around making these by hand instead of working on Detox? It's just a logo on a probably slightly tweaked pair of existing headphones.
Who would turn down the opportunity to make money on something like this when you have to do no work at all?
KoDy.

guess you've never heard of integrity...
-
So what if they're $500? It's obviously a lot of money to pay for headphones but this venture for Dre has been really successful and he's been making tons of paper off of it.
And you have to be a retard to have snapped the headband off of the Beats, whoever has done that obviously hasn't been handling them right.

haha What world are you living in? In real world it's about making money, preferrably while doing the least and in the shortest amount of time.
-
LOL^ but then when dre thinks hes making easy money by doing nothing, he is really shooting himself in the foot because the product he cosigned is breaking for tons of people and his reputation is being ran thru the mud, obviously someone has never been in a business classs ^
-
interesting to see how they sell
-
those will sell because thats pocket change for rich white kids with mommy's credit cards.

I don't think anyone disagrees with that and that's not what you said. No shit he's using the hype from Detox to promote other things. You said the album didn't exist, which it does.
-
Cool the Logos Name ''Dr.Dre'' had the self letters from the old Chronic i hope this is the final Logo

I've said plenty of times that Detox is just a fabrication used by the label to promote other albums, and then when albums stopped selling, they used the Detox brand-name to promote other things that started selling for them, such as headphones and speakers.
You said the album didn't exist, which it does.
Link to the tracclist then. ::)
-
When I've seen this topic title I thought it was actually a joke but damn they really did it!?
Now Dre better drop his fucking record before losing the rest of credibility he has...

im not gonna lie, those are tempting.....but as for the chump saying Dre owes his fans, LMAO you know you gets no ass ! 8)
-
I wish someone would break into Jimmy's compound and steal the muthafucka by now! That way when it's leaked, they'll finally be forced to "officially" release it. Then they can do their laptops, computers, hats, clothing line, lunch boxes, cell phone apps, cell phone covers, Ipod covers, mugs, Converse Detox Stars, DC detox kicks, and the rest! Pay that $5 mil studio bill back! :grumpy:
-

That's the problem with this industry. You can never impress the fans because as soon as you start working on something, some asshole goes and leaks it to everyone on the internet, and then you have to start all over lol. Dre's gonna come out and say that because that picture leaked, it'll be another six months for them to design a new pair and release it as the official ones lol.
-
Honestly, all Dre and Jimmy are trying to do is be creative and figure out a way to make up for the amount of money that is lost as a result of digital theft. I think it is was a brilliant business plan, and I give them both props, and I can't wait for the album to drop.
-

I agree but it's a double-edged sword. The last person I would think that would turn into a product is Doc Dre. Got me shakin my head (ya I wrote it). :grumpy:
I have a lot of respect for the D-R-E but if they can't release the album that could of come out in Jan., because of headphones, I don't know... I'm starting to lose it and if it's all about the product placement then your hanging your integrity on the line.
Yea we get it, we see the commercials :eh:, but why not stick to what you're known for doing best ...

see you guys just want the music and don't care. But Dre is a trendsetter. He's not about just releasing an album every year and dozens of mixtapes and watering down his music to the point where people ain't checking for it anymore. The old Aftermath logo used to say, "We don't set trip, we set trends". When Dre releases something he wants it to be trendsetting.
On top of that, Dre has already done everything he's needed to do in the industry and financially. So this gives Dre even greater incentive to protect his legacy. And Jimmy is smart enough to profit off his legacy in a way that isn't damaging to the legacy. Those Dr. Pepper commercials didn't really damage his legacy cause they protected his image; and the Beats By Dre headphones are actually adding to his legacy because they are a quality product.
So it's all win win for Dre. And he deserves it, and he shouldn't listen to what his so-called fans at dubcc are saying, after all he's done they just want to talk shit on him every other thread, and download the album illegally anyway. When you have "fans" like that, you at least deserve to make some money back through these Detox labeled headphones.
...sell Detox label headphones at higher price= More money for Dre
...sell Detox label headphones at higher price= More publicity and anticipation for Dre's album
...sell Detox label headphones at higher price= higher price creates a scarcity of people owning your product, and therefore elevates the buyer and becomes a status symbol so your product now becomes associated with luxury
Win, WIn, Win for Dre

For the people that say they break easily... You bought a counterfeit product. A fake one!

Sorry man but it doesn't work that easily. If you don't keep your name fresh and popular, your not gonna sell anything based on this. If dudes, like buddy above ^, have a ridiculous amount of disposable income they're gonna spend it on who's hot, not who's not. This guy is an anamolie ^. Beiber headphones, Eminem, Rihanna, yes. Go ask kids who mainly buy this stuff who Doc Dre is.
If Detox never drops the fans will forget about it eventually then what ... :eh:
I'm a fan of his music not his products ... I could care less.
"see you guys just want the music and don't care"
Of course man! Setting trends with music is okay by me.

nah, i got the studios for a bday present and i sold them to my dads homie who refused to buy it unless i accepted 350 for em, so i went to best buys and i basically only spent 50 bucks (it was 400 for the pros) in all to get my beat pros

Are you slow? There's no tracklist because the album is still in development.
The fact Detox is being used to promote other products is plainly obvious. These products have been ANNOUNCED as having to do with the release of Detox. This isn't a relevation of yours.

At the end of the day all the products he endorses isn't going to have an impact on the music. The music speaks for itself, and if it isn't there then what the fuck is he doing?
