Title: Obie Trice is one helluva battle rapper
Post by: Jome on April 16, 2003, 09:02:38 PM
Remember Obie fucked Benzino up on "Welcome to Detroit" ??
His verse on "Do re mi" fucked Ja Rule even more up, IMO..

Peep his verse:

Do-re-mi.. but we dont sing muhfuckaz
So Murda Inc. do your thing muthafuckaz
You unleashed on the team we except nothin less than r'n'b-covers from that regime
It's a little extreme, rednecks with soldiers and muhfuckin marines
Ja sold his soul to sing
We witnessed his team on the TV-screen chasing the green
Now that you embrace the green don't FUCK with them triple beams
Youz a muthafuckin actor slash Pac-impersonating rapper
Slash Billie Holiday how it happened ?
Artist and repetoire (A&R) saw him in action
Pac-assassination - Def Jam grabbed him
Told him "Re-enact him - You go platinum"
They seen it for sure
I know that a Afeni Shakur don't enjoy Jeffrey Atkins re-enacting her boy
So I'm click-clacking the toy (Bang) Mash and destroy
Shady slash Aftermath and Detroit, mothafucka!

That's 16 hot bars..  ;D

Obie is fucking dope, I wud love to see nothing more than obie coming out droppin a dope summer theme for this first single and gettin airplay everywhere and then droppin an amazing album full of Dre, Em and Kno Artis beats.

i hope kon artist goes no where near his joint, n id rather hear him over neptunes beats any day than eminem beats, but ther'll be plenty of eminem joints on this i reckon.  but word to jome, them lyrics are sick no doubt, he jus needs to learn to flow em better so ppl pay mo attention to them.

Hiphopsite.com wisely agrees with me..  ;D

"Doe Ray Me" feat. Em, D12, and the show-stealing Obie Trice, who really rips Ja Rule even better than Em: "How'd it happen? / Aritst and Repertoire saw him in action / Pac assasination, Def Jam grabbed him / told him 're-enact him and you'll go platinum' / they seen him for sure / I know Afeni Shakur don't enjoy / Jeffery Atkins re-enactin' her boy / so I'm click-clackin' the toy..."

Yeah those are dope lyrics... much better than the lame "Welcome To Detroit", IMO. Obie is a great talent. This is best the best I ever heard him spit...

Not really.. you'll understand the basics in 10 minutes if you just try..
The ones complaining about "too difficult" or "doesn't work on my PC" is the people who want everything sent to them without bothering to even check it out.

I think a Obie album could be dope.. and this might be his first & last chance, so he gotta be hungry to make it a dope album.
