Snoop Dogg was in the studio with Swizz Beatz last night and after wrapping their session, Tha Doggfather announced that his next album will be the sequel to his debut masterpiece, Doggystyle.

Could go either way. But most likely gonna dissapoint :-\
-
please, don't!!!!
-
If he is in a session with Swizz Beats, I hope that was for something else because without D R E, like it or not, it ain't gonna work.

The name is just to get the news out there, to get everybody hyped and to get everybody to cop the record. No one, including Snoop himself, is gonna be like "yeah, this album does feel like a 2nd Doggystyle". It's gonna be another Snoop album. Don't be mad at the title.

good point
-
I unfornattly saw this comin cause letīs be honest after doggystyle he ainīt brought his a-game to the table, okay that album from 02 brought him great money, but the point is his fans wants to see a great gangsta lyrical snoop not the sexuall eruption bitch...so the point is why so many artists falow the retro route? is it that they think, my real fans or people who loved the album are going to buy this because itīs an classic title and this is the 2nd one? if snoop can bring a new fresh thing with a great concept to the table then itīs okay, but if heīs raps like this is a mixtape or a street album, brings fuckin wanna be producer to the table and create the same bullshit concept...........
THEN SNOOP YOU GOT WESTCOAST BAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S: A ALBUM WITHOUT ALL THESE PEOPLE WHO WAS ON DOGGYSTYLE IS NOT A DOGGYSTYLE.
-
Eurgh swizz beatz :-X Guy is so hit and miss and he seems to be getting more misses and less hits in the last 5yrs.
-
horrible idea
-
Didnt snoop say his next album would b for females? And what was that doggumentary?
-
horrible idea

Could only work if the following was done -
Have all the same MCs on it (Rage, RBX, etc.)
Take the same amount of time to make sure it's just bangers (how long did Doggystyle take? like 1-2 years? I remember Snoop complaining it took ages at the time)
Have one producer do the whole record to make sure it all sounds coherent
If it's Dre producing, get Daz and Warren in to co-produce and all the original session musicians
Base it around big, dope funk samples, replayed
Get the same people who did the original art work
Give Snoop maybe 4-5 months to do nothing but practice freestyling and coming up with dope lyrics again, so he's at that level again
Have DOC do a bunch of rewrites and ghostwriting for it
Keep it the same number of tracks as Doggystyle
I always wanted to hear what Dre would have done with beats if he's been around to produce the Doggfather album... like imagine Doggystyle quality, but with a mafioso, Italian-strings sort of theme for Doggfather, would have been crazy
Though I could picture a Doggystyle 2 with another producer like Primo or like the Bomb Squad... to give it a coherent overall feel, but different flavor to Doggystyle
Of course probably none of the above will happen, but I'd be happy with another Blue Carpet Treatment level album
-
that's funny bcuz i just made a 1999Version of Doggystyle called "Doggystyle 2000" like 2 days ago lol. But yeah, i'm sure Snoop will change the title tho, "Tha Doggfather" was supposed to be "Doggystyle 2" and I think "Tha Last Meal" was too.
-
doggystyle is one of the dopest albums out ever..theres no question about it..and yes, he needs that flow again...
but NOT those "dope" lyrics...he needs to spit shit like he did on doggfather...
most the spits on doggystyle were basic and repetitive as fuck...hey its me, the d o double g, with my homie d.r.e, yo what up to d.a.z. blah blah...
-
Gotta love Snoop's persona, but I don't have to love his music. The last couple of albums have been one shitstorm after another.
-

thinking about what I just wrote I think Snoop is gonna give us something this time around that's gonna solidify Snoop once and for all (for all of the non-believers). Of course it may not be his best work to date (we DONT know that yet) but anytime Snoop hints with things like this it usually comes out pretty good no matter what. Y'all just be thinking too slow, sometimes u just gotta read beyond the words and actually use some common sense for once and y'aw'll start 2 get shit alot quicker. You know like if u really wanna get in2 a females mind and make her do what you want, all u gotta do iz just take a deep breath, calm down the drama, and just listen and you'll get what u want if u know what to look for. The same analogy can be applied to everybody, like Snoop.

he told a fan/crippin fellow it's called "doggymentary" not too long ago...

he told a fan/crippin fellow it's called "doggymentary" not too long ago...
U mean "Doggumentary". lol, it could be a spin off of Game's shit sike na but i'm sure he'll be touching the streets with this 1, i just hope in a new way, Snoop stay tryna put them Pop stanza's in his music, it's cool but then sometimes it be like damn son, turn that shit. but if he don't atleast chill all tha way tha fuck maxed out on that Hollywood Snoop shit and don't keep it short, straight to tha point, that mothafuckin' smooth malt liquor flow then I just don't see why he don't get that Scarface money.
Speaking of Face, does everybody see why Face is still the Boss of Hip Hop the way he makes his moves usually strickly off of the music business (look like Face still got tha game on lock). I wouldn't even doubt if behind the scenes/under the table that Face probably put Luda & TI & all them otha niggaz that fucked with tha nigga back in tha day like from Def Jam/Def Jam South/ TX / et. and had em on a contract.
Anyways all I'm sayin is that whenever Snoop gets in that mode the shit usually end up pretty decent. There's no way I'm bettin' on Snoop Dogg to talk about something of that nature and end up releasing "No Malice Like Shit Boii In Wonderland" that's all.
-
I'm excited for this. From the videos I saw of the Rock The Bells LA concert, Snoop sounded HUNGRY on the mic. Flow was crisp, voice sounded aggressive and expressive... it was the best he had sounded in years.
DIdn't snoop have an unreleased 97 EP called the Doggumentary? It was going to have midnight love on it or something?
-

Ive lost all faith in snoop unless this is severly quality controlled it will be a mess.

Totally with this! but like you say it probably wont happen. Snoop will never do another album that will even come close to "Doggystyle"
-
Fuck I was hoping he was talking about the porno lol. This is gonna blow (no porno)

The difference is Raekwon doesn't suck. Let's not even make this comparison, as delusional as Snoop is he'll convince himself that 'Raekwon came out with a sequel over a decade later and it was dope, and he worked with Justin Bieber. So fuck it, I'm making Doggystyle 2 and my first single is gonna feature the Bieber'.
Crippin With My Shawty f/ Justin Bieber ;D
-
if snoop is focused on selling records or trying to get that female fan base, this is gonna be like every other album he's done over the last 10 years
the only way for this album to work would be for him to do the opposite of what he would normally do. dont pick soft beats, dont get features cause someone is "hot" at the moment. ofcourse he is gonna do that and this album will be his worst yet.
-
and when Warren G's Regulate 2 is coming out??
-
He couldn't even follow up MIW properly yet he expects to successfully follow up Doggystle?
-
Putting "Swizz Beats" and "Doggystyle" in the same sentence is an automatic fail.
-
DoggYmentry is pretty gay to be str8 up honest. DoggUmentry sounds better.
-
This is how it goes in Hip Hop music, and told to an artist:
When you get wack, resort to your old classical album, and re-title it for squeezing some last sales
-
Snoop reauniting with everybody on this album like he did on Doggystyle would just be corny. He`s better off taking the best of the best he`s ever workd with on a label, minus The Neptunes. Dpgc, eastsidaz, tha twinz, 213, nipsey, dre, wc, the lox, ray j, soopafly, mc ren, and have Diddy could be his Dr. Dre, Dat Nigga Daz, and Charlie Wilson to his project. it would all mesh together perfectly, i could c it pleasing everybody. Produced by Dr Dre, The HitMen, and a beat from Sam Sneed, a couple from Snoop, 1 from Kanye, and a WeedSong from SwizzBeatz, Dark RnB track and its all good. have it written by Snoop, doc, daz, problem, and a verse or two from Royce Da 5`9 and Common collabed on with Snoop. Bitch3z and bitch assez we`ll have a classic, probably better than the 1st.
-
it would only be gd if it was just dre(main), daz, soopafly, warren g produced the album
-
Putting "Swizz Beats" and "Doggystyle" in the same sentence is an automatic fail.
pretty much what I thought once Swizz' name popped up in here lol
I won't say anything though until I hear it, I know Snoop is capable of still dropping heat but it seems he just doesn't feel like it at times (Malice N Wonderlnad)
-
Dr. Dre working with The Hit Men for an entire project would be iconic for HipHop, let alone just a good album for Snoop. Just imagine how it would turn out if they did it right with tha beats. I dont even think it would be too hard considering they all pretty much make tha same type of music. That dark rnb track could be handled by Terrace Martin, yeah i could see all of this working.
-
hope that happens!
-
hope it turns out good ???
-
I hope dre work mainly with him on this. thats the only way to surpass expectations

It would be dope if it was like they made 12 more tracks for Doggystyle. I just want to hear 12 more tracks from Doggystyle, which weren't on Doggystyle, if that makes sense

Kanye is one of the best producers in the last 10 years. Don't be silly
-
I agree with a lot of posts here i think its just a plot to use a big title to sell his next album. I doubt its gonna sound that much different from his last two bullshit albums.
-
I think this album is entirely produced by Swizz.
It says he already produced 18 beats, i dont know if snoop rapped of all of them already, but i know for sure their are 18 beats already made.
But i think this is what snoop needs. An album produced by 1 person. This is the best way that allows the album to have flow, instead of being all over the place. And as long as Swizz isnt screaming showtime or swizzy all over the album, or isnt featured on it, then im cool with him producing it. You all forget that he made the power song remix what it was, by adding that beat to it.
So dont downplay the album until you atleast here a leak/single. Im sure Snoop knows he has to bring a solid album, if not a classic album. And thats why im looking forward to this album the most, because im sure snoop knows what he has to do to make this album work, and im pretty sure he'll actually be writing his lyrics on this one. And dont forget, Swizz usually isnt creating gangsta beats, hes usually making those main stream beats. So this will actually be better then what you all think.

JUST RETIRE ALREADY SNOOP, NOBODY WANTS TO HEAR THIS GARBAGE

You know I've never been insulted for being smart so this is a first for me foreal foreal and son it feels kinda good, i never knew i thought about shit, they say that nigga don't think and then i punch faggots like u in tha face. but yeah tho son, that's wassup yung.

It a take a miracle!he gonna have to fire his ghost writers he got now.bad lucc and problem and them guys just dont do it for snoop.they cool.but snoop need better ghost writers,he gonna need a miracle 2 make this work.lets see if he could pull it off tho.
-
see suga free is smart.he didnt make street gospel 2 until he got dj quik back in the mix.makeing doggy style 2 produced by swizz beats is like the westside connection makeing bow dow 2 produced by lil john and pharell,or ice cube makeing death certicate 2 produced by soulja boy

i get tha analogy but Swizz Beatz isn't always that bad. But if it sounds anything like "on to the next one" or some other "Get ya hype, get ya money, get ya bricks, nyc cliqs" type shit then they can keep it. I think outta those 18 he could pull out a decent track but maybe if they aimed for 32 tracks recorded together then they would have a better chance of making more money. I guess it's a smart move to get with one producer and record abuncha tracks and only use 1 or none and only pay for 1.

I'm livin' in reality buddy. "Doggystyle" was a classic, however in the 17 years since that release he hasn't dropped an album that has approached classic album discussion territory. That's the truth.

I knew it was only a matter of time before we got "Doggystyle 2" and I don't know if this is a good move. Fans really fucking love that album so Snoop better know where he wants to go on this one. I didn't pick up either version of "Malice" and that's a first for me as a Snoop fan. I think he needs the Good Doctor involved on this one simply to make it official. I'm not with all this other talk that it needs to be all G-Funk with nothing but DPG features. if you gonna do another Doggystyle, that's a serious legacy to live up to. I think rappers need to stop doing this kind of thing for quick sales.
-
Well we all know that its extremely unlikely that Dre will have much involvement in this but i think Dre would have to produce at least one song for an album with that title and it would be very nice to see Snoop involve his actual crew and freinds on it(RBX, Rage, Dogg pound, Soopafly, Warren-g) but i agree it dosent necessarily have to be strictly in house and we all know dam well it aint gonna happen.
I think the production very important but for Snoop to name it this he really dose need to rap like he did on that song he did with Nipsy Hustle.
Would be cool to see Snoop have some in house features or some underground and new rappers instead of just the "who's hot at the moment" like someone already said.
I guess the album dont even need that many features either.
A new Snoop album would be good though! got bored with teh last one pretty quick.
-
if Swizz beats has anything to do wit it. its not gonna be good.

doggystyle was rushed actually
-
The only way Snoop could redue or come close to the 1st Doggystyle would be to have nothing but DAT NIGGA DAZ AN SOOPAFLY ON PRODUCTION! THAT 100WAYS Album has a lot of the Chronic type sounds on it that shit is bangin! Anyways yeh Daz an Fly on production and then I would say nothing but
dAZ, kURUPT, Soopafly, Lady of Rage, RBX, even the TWINZ, bAD aZZ, maybe Technic, Lil CStyle, Warren G, nATE dOgg, nothing but DPG members!
Snoop if your readin this homie Im tellin you right now not that Swizz bEats is a shitty producer but if your gonna be doin a Doggystyle prt 2 you better
play close attention to artists that try to repeat there original albums or even movies that try to re-due the old ones like lets say Karate Kid thats a classic movie you cant touch it and Will Smith put out a karate kid 2 and fucked it all up! hahha so Snoop better keep your DPG fam on this project and listen to your real fans cuzz if you come out with something wack your true fans will be disappointed, swizz beats is wack you heard the tracks he did for daz an kurupt they sounded like shit. its dpg producers on dpg camp thats the formula bottom line!
-
so wait, is this 'female friendly' album gonna be called Doggystyle 2, or is it a different project? i think dre should produce that entire album and than he can retire or whatever tha fuck, i don't think anyone would be mad if he scrap detox for this. i wouldn't be...
-
Was anyone feelin world war song wit jada, snoop, n face?

with the heat Kanye putting out, would like to see some Kanye tracks on the album
-
doggfather, no limit td, last meal, or blue carpet treatment get largely written off even though they are quite good because they're not doggystyle. with the doggystyle name the standards are going to be even higher and realistically they aint gonna be met. on the other hand though snoop is falling in a rut with his classic era fans more unsatisfied then ever and hes loosing steam as a mainstream artist as well. i guess it could help him get his head right maybe.
theres no way in hell though hes gonna bring in all the death row inmates hes past that. i think swizz beats being a part of the album makes that obvious. which i really dont see how anybody can look on the bright side with him producing his beats are usually ass. i dont think dre is currently apart of it because cube said hes awol even to snoop but i would bet money hes gonna have a nice chunk of it still.
^oh and janelle monaes the fucking best. i love her shit so much archandroid already in my all time top 10 albums haha

Just read this:
Snoop Dogg is in a "let's do it again" type of mood.
The rapper announced plans to work with Katy Perry again after the pair's "California Gurls" collaboration shot to the top of the iTunes singles chart this week. (Perry's album, Teenage Dream, also hit #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart this week.)
"We're trying to get together and do something on my new album ... so [I'm] definitely in contact with her," Snoop told OK! magazine about Perry. "She's a sweet girl and I had fun making the record with her. Like I said, I'm looking forward to her being on my record as well."
The album in question is Doggystyle 2: The Doggumentary

gangsta classic confirmed

Dr.Dre working with Justin Bieber, Snoop prostituting himself to whoever is hot. Gangsta rap just isn't the same anymore...
-
Long beach...how is that gangsta classic? She the only one sellin so he jumps on her tail 2 b number 1? Lol
-
Please Snoop... let it be.... :-\

LOLOL, I still can't get over how big of a joke this is.
He just released his worst album of his career; now instead of Dre, he has Swizz Beatz; this is the worst idea in history lmfao.

First off, how do you know how good or bad it's going to be? Secondly, I don't consider "Blue Carpet Treatment" one of the highlights of Snoop's career. Yes, it's got 3 songs produced by Dre. Guest spots by Ice Cube, E-40, Nate Dogg, The Game, MC Eiht, The Dogg Pound, and so on and so forth. I enjoy the album and it's not wack by any means but I can't think of one classic track on there off the top of my head.
-
How dope was bct tho?
-
Blue Carpet is cool but many will likely jump to call it something it isn't. In terms of guest rappers and producers, you couldn't ask for a better line-up but it just feels like it's missing something.

On a scale from 1 to 10? Like a negative 6.
Besides "Gangbangin' 101".
-
only on this board is bct praised so highly...shit was ass for the most part...
gangbangin 101, and the intro are tight...fuck the rest..
-

gangbangin 101, and the intro are tight...fuck the rest..
You have to expect it on a West Coast board, but like you said, one or two keepers; the rest is ass.
Ego Trippin' had some good songs, probably better; but this is the worst idea in Hip Hop history.

i actually bump more tracks off ego trippin than bct..enjoy more as well..

Well "Press Play" was the last great Snoop Dogg song.
& "Neva Hafta Worry" was sick too.
BCT was terrible minus a few, as was R&G minus a few; Malice In Wonderland was the worst of his career & after making the worst album of your life you decide your next album is going to be a remake of a true Hip Hop classic that you're entire career is even in existance over, it's beyond retarded.
-
R&G>>>bct>>>>ego trippin...and those jt and nelly traxx were wack...
-
oh no :-X
can u remember when warren g said he want to redo regulate with akon......
so wait what we will get next from snoop ;)
gin&juice part 3 with akon
Who Am I (What's My Name)? with drake
GZ And Hustlas with gucci mane
Ain't No Fun with nicki minaj
Murder Was The Case with lil wayne
mainly produced by drumma boy, swizz beatz and all the other :puke: producers
please snoop listen to the fans
lets start a petition
-
Haha ^^ petition=not buyin the album?
-
I like the concept of a sound for the album like how the originial doggystyle was. It's not about a single. But, dre should come up with 18 beats for the album not swizz beats especially if its gon be called doggystyle 2.
-
Well, if you want 18 Dre produced tracks, doggystyle 2 will drop in 2050.
-
Snoop's been re-releasing old records that were released earlier by Priority for the last few months, thought he'd do something like this sooner or later.
His core fans don't support him no more and he's delusional if he thinks the people who bought that single he did with Katy will support him.
I just hope that this isn't that female-friendly album he was talking about months ago or at least release this without Shante-dedications. At this point dude's just digging his own grave.
-
LOL @ some people here thinking Snoop can bring back that 93 dopeness in his lyrics along with g-funk sound
Putting "Swizz Beats" and "Doggystyle" in the same sentence is an automatic fail.
-
The idea of the whole album being produced by one producer is cool but how it came to be that it was swizz is baffleing?
Admitedly i havent heard all that much swizz production but i dont recal ever overly likeing any of what i have heard and it certeranly is hard to imagine it fitting with Snoop.
I did like that track with scareface an that, that someone mentioned, the ruff ridah track but wouldnt really see it on a snoop album.
Swizz n snoop would be like snoop on no limit as far as how mis matched it is when you try to visualise it but having said that there were lots of good snoop no limit tracks..
What has swizz done anyway, i mean why swizz? i never heard much dmx or ruff rydah stuff so i cant critercise him too much but whats so good about him/appealing about him?
The track on cali iz active was ok but didnt really fit in or sound great or anything?
-
I doubt the album is gonna be called Doggystyle 2.. most likely be Doggumentary, as fopr Swizz Beats.. he got the best beat on the second Eastsidaz album so I wont hate on that.. this kind of sucks because everybody knows that the only thing that could sell from Snoop is a full Dr.Dre produced album.. like someone said earlier , this idea is actually bigger than Detox.
-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r41Q7mB1Gp4
-
he can even name it chronic 2010 and it will be trash
-
I think he needs to drop a double album. One half done by commercial producers and the other by his dpg affiliates. And I agree that Dre's inclusion has to be mandatory. If not change change the fucking concept.
-
How was Tha Blue Carpet Treatment wack. U had about 40-something/50 songs on there and u mean to tell me that there's only 2 or 3 good tracks on there.... wow lol with the serious face, y'all smokin' that meth foreal out there. but then hold up, white kids who grew up on HipHop and hung around a couple black kids are the Gurus of this Game, i forgot, my bad.
i4got how horrible it waz:
01 - Wannabee's feat. Nate Dogg & Young Jeezy
02 - Round Here
03 - Crazy feat. Nate Dogg
04 - Think About It
05 - Candy feat. Them WestCoast Niggaz
06 - Vato feat. B Real
07 - That's That Shit feat. R Kelly
08 - Boss' Life feat. Akon or Nate Dogg
09 - A Bitch I Knew
10 - Which One Of You feat. The 9 Inch Dix
11 - I Wanna Fuck You feat. Akon *a big ass single*
12 - Territory feat. Brotha Lynch Hung & Daz Dillinger
13 - Bad Bitch feat. Flava Flav
14 - Look Around
15 - Real Shit
16 - Killas feat. Them WestSide Niggaz
17 - Real One
18 - We Do feat. Big Daddy Kane
19 - Long Gone feat. Mr. Porter
i forgot about how ALL of these songs and everything in that Era were just straight up garbage. The Elite of DubCC were so accurate on that 1.
Snoop coulda put all of the other songs that i didn't put on here on the mixtape and shit still woulda been ight.
-
Considering some of the songs cut/recorded for blue carpet that shit couldve been undeniably classic... its still my favorite snoop album after doggystyle. As it is it's just a few too many filler songs too long
-
but then hold up, white kids who grew up on HipHop and hung around a couple black kids are the Gurus of this Game, i forgot, my bad.
Considering a majorty of Soulja Boy, Gucci Mane, Lil' B & Shorty Lo fans are Black & a majority of Slaughterhouse (& all members indivdually), Talib Kweli & Tech N9ne fans are White; I'd say that we are more than entitled to an opinion.
Sure that's an "Hip Hop elitist" thing to say, but it's the truth.
Oh, but I forgot, Black kids (regardless of their struggles) feel like their opinion holds more weight in a Hip Hop discussion. Yet you JUST said the other day, "You have no idea how many white people there are up in DC" & you're gunna front like you can relate to a WEST COAST, Hip Hop album moreso than a white person because you're black. Ignorance is bliss.

u don't need 2 twist up my words and act like u don't know wat i waz gettin at, i don't owe u an explaination for anything i say or do.

lmao Doggystyle 2 ? snoop need to put that blunt down . swizz beats is weak

Anyway, way to completely dodge what I just said to you.
Take your quick L & move on; you should know the drill by now.

Crazy feat. Nate Dogg is a 100% classic track
true, well said!
-
Snoop's only real problem is that he isn't too good at Verse Placement. Like you can hear where Verse 1 shoulda been Verse 3 and Viceversa and so on. I don't know if that's something his producers and engineers do or if it's something he wants to do or he just hasn't noticed it.
His beat selection can be weak too but hey nobody is perfect i guess even though he can clearly fix that if he really really wants to or not. He's got a good ear for beats no doubt but sometimes it sounds like he's pickin tha hottest beat from that producer's tape they sent him and just used it like fuck it, it was hot when i first heard it so i guess it'll stay.
lol just sayin'
-
On TBCT i agree it was a real good album but some of the songs didnt seem to fit and i just couldnt get over songs like "long gone" and the one with Brotha Lynch not making the final cut, i mean they're both such good tracks and then some weak tracks made the cut so that kinda ruined for me.
i had no idea Swizz produced on the 2nd Eastsidaz album(or i just forgot)?
-
As a rule of thumb, artists should never provide a 'sequel' to their best work, especially when, as in Snoop's case, it was so long ago. Personally I think he is past it now and I don't have as much interest in his work as I used to, but good luck to him in this project. I just can't see it sounding anything remotely like Doggystyle if he is in the studio with Swizz Beatz.
-
doggystyle was done almost 20 years ago of course this new album wont sound like it
-
Swizz beatz produced "everywhere i go" which was number 20 on the 2nd album...dope beat but will or can snoop bring tha same heat he once brought?
-

I don't think anyone doubts that Snoop still has it. The question is, as it is with all his albums, is the musical direction he will take with the album.
-
If it ain't Dre, it ain't Doggystle. Sorry. The name of the album is just meant to create a buzz to buy it. Nothing more. Otherwise, the actual composition would have included the producers and features from the first doggstyle, not just a name.
-
Just read this:
The album in question is Doggystyle 2: The Doggumentary
haha that's a good start
-

It's why he needs Dre! Not only from a production stand point, but in terms of putting an entire song together!
-
Real talk^
-
but Dre usually doesn't like sequels, so it will never happen
-
IMO what Snoop should do is sign a one album deal with Daz or something and put out a street album with all of the DPG crew on it. Then he can go off and collabo with Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, etc. for his next major release
-

Exactly. Because with all the heat Dre's been dropping lately, we might have songs on doggystyle part 2 up to par with "under pressure". Great idea!
-
Only thing I really want from this album. WESTCOAST!
I dont want another Doggystyle with all the same rappers, singers, etc. etc.
He should do something different then that but at the same time keep it 100% Westcoast!
That means no beats from Swizz, Boi-1-Da, Timbo etc.

Why do I feel this is gonna turn into another "Old needs to support New West" thread. Doggystyle 2 is gonna fail, because the original was a Classic. He'd really need to concentrate like a motherfucker. I mean literally make every track a banger.
-
If that name's on an Album it needs 100% Dre...period...Swizz Beats is DMX's guy not Snoops. Snoop sounds dope on Quik, Fredwreck, Battlecat and Daz and Soopaflys beats. I respect him trying new stuff and being a superstar but that album is too classic to flirt with disaster....If it happens thought I hope I am way wrong, a good album is a good album, just Swizz beats twinny way too loud high hats and keyed samples bother me...I don't like being a hater but...

its 2010... other than you and other dubcc members who else wants to hear that? dont get me wrong Those producers are good but who else is checking for them...the way I see it.. Snoop always drops mixtape for the fans before the album drops so i guess u gotta wait for that!

I really think a lot of hip-hop heads love that westcoast sound. And if he did an album 100 like that it would create a buzz and people would be talkin bout it, tellin their friends etc.
IMO that would be the right thing to do. Why not just do it for the love of the music? Why for that fuckin Billboard list when youre at this point in the game and you already made madd money.

its to stay relevant im pretty sure that he still drops stuff for the fans like thru mixtape or thru Koch aka E1

If Swizz can make beats like "New York Shit" from The Big Bang for Snoop then Im all for it. Minus swizz on all the hooks. But that type of beat would fit Snoop well IMO

this album gonna suck.
snoop dogg gone pop,u just dont got it in him 2 make another classic album like doggystyle.
-
he can make dope mixtape material...he can make dope album material
-
The name is just to get the news out there, to get everybody hyped and to get everybody to cop the record. No one, including Snoop himself, is gonna be like "yeah, this album does feel like a 2nd Doggystyle". It's gonna be another Snoop album. Don't be mad at the title.
WOW, you are really intelligent mauzip :o
-
hahaha wow, snoop simply naming his next album has produced a 6 page thread. I guess not too many people know much about marketing...

yeah but too bad swizz didn't do that beat, dj scratch did.

if Doggstyle needed a sequel, it shouldve been Tha Last Meal or TBCT...
fuck Snoop sellout ass
