Hopefully it'll be a fun and good game, although I'll enjoy myself anyway that night. I hope and think Spain will take it.

Viva España. Let them take it - the Germans really weren't the strongest team from the first two groups. It's a shame Croatia went out in such a pathetic way; they could have given the tournament a bigger boost until the final.

1. I'm not so sure. I mean, I got a feeling Germany will take it once again, although we better not get into who's got more quality. Still, Spain's stats: 4 wins, one draw, 11:3 goals, that is quite impressive. The fact they didn't shit their pants going into a penalty shootout against Italy in a quarter final on the 22nd of June tells me that while it's probably gonna be much closer than one might assume, they might just step into the ring with some cojones.
2. Einstein looks funny, Schweinsteiger looks ugly...but anyways, how did that condescending sarcasm thing go? I didn't catch that (no trying to fuck with you - I just didn't). I do know what a contrabass is, but still...

1. Believe it or not but some chicks really find that dude hot. I find it weird too, his skin is quite fucked up for TV-Standards and shit. But there's lots of chicks who dig dude. Of course money, fame and success play a huge role in that, but many players have that, yet from what I can tell most younger chicks are all over Schweinsteiger and Podolski. The older ones usually like Ballack, Lehmann and Lahm.
2. To me it just looks like you want to hint at me being a) not funny or b) not coherent, because that joke was really not anything to fly over Kill's head. It's just that this type of contrabass looks like a bigger type of violin, from an uninformed point of view. The way I phrased it made the comment funny in my subjective view of things. That's all there is to it.

Sergio Ramos has been fantastic besides that major brain freeze in the opening minutes; that cross to Torres which went off the post was spot on plus he's made some fantastic defensive plays.

I've always liked Germany, but they have a weak team lately, they've been kinda lucky pairing with Turkey and all. Holland and Portugal were playing better and got kicked out early.

Lehmann should have just taken the L when Wenger benched him and let Adler play and build some chemistry with the team to be ready for summer 2008. But he didn't, because he's a douchebag. I don't hate him for not being a good goalkeeper. I'm not a world class goalkeeper either. But he should've taken the L and help the team instead of being an egocentric bitch and ruining everything.
And who would you play instead of Metzelder? Not that I think he's great coming off injury and all, but I can't think of anyone who's better suited to play such a tournament at this position.

^ well, Westermann is not a world class defender, but he played a solid season for Schalke. He was in the right condition. Self-confidence the right phyisical conditions and a good form is essential for a big tournament. Don't you think it's sad that you can't even replace a player who is either benched or injured the whole season?

agree with that one. I still think Metzelder was not acceptable. I would prefer any defender who may be worse but is in a better condition. All I know is that I'm relieved Metzelder left Dortmund , despite our horrible defending last season...

I was in a bar last night and funny enough everybody started cheering when Spain scored. In the 2nd half all of a sudden 5 Germans walked in. It's questionable how much they were really interested in the game, but I liked how they shut up after the final whistle :D

I cant believe the stick Lehmann is taking, yes he was PARTLY to blame for the goal (IMO Lahm should have been a lot stronger) but did no1 else see the 3 or 4 quality saves Lehmann made throughout the rest of the game? And this is coming from someone who fucking HATES Lehmann with a passion, but you cant blame him tonight. IMO Frings has lost it, Neither Podolski or Klose turned up 2nite, subbing a defender 4 a defender at half time is NOT a positve move....Oh and Spain could bring on the top scorer in La Liga and 2 other good players (Xabi Alonso and Cazzolo (Sp?) where as Ze Germans brung on an ineffectual Kuranyi and fuckin Gomez, that was the difference, not the Keeper.

How would you's prefer to do it..
A) everyone puts forward there own team.. then the players that are selected most times in a certain position takes it?

Either would work, although a complication with A is that someone might have, say, Iniesta playing on the left, someone might put him on the right, and someone might put him in the center, so his name would be there 3 times, but only once officially if you know what i mean?

well i think we can collectively come up with 5 players from each position who have had a good tournament.. then from there people vote for their favourite.. I dont mind attempting this thread, if people are willing and down for it.

I don't think he was that serious. Although the Germans really didn't have too many standout players, but one or two of them there will sure have to be

You name one German player who doesn't have at least two better contestants for that same position, considering all players in the entire championship. I don't think any German should make the final cut, but sure, give them a shot.

You name one German player who doesn't have at least two better contestants for that same position, considering all players in the entire championship. I don't think any German should make the final cut, but sure, give them a shot.
The more I think about it, the more I agree. But if it's 5 players for each position, a few names should pop up, I doubt I'm gonna pick one for my selection too though
