Title: paper trail

lunatic 63 would you happen to know what the first single off t.i.'s album is?

T.I. just shot a video for "No Matter What" but im not sure how high budget it is, i think its still just the street single

the official first single is still up in the air between two songs

its either "what's up, what's happening" prod. by danja OR "on top of the world" feat. kanye west and b.o.b.

i think he's leaning towards "what's up, what's happening."

cool..who produced on top of the world feat. b.o.b.?  do you think he's gonna have mannie fresh on the album? they've made classic records together. i personally would like to hear him over a couple of dr. dre beats.

I dunno if fresh is on the album

confirmed producers:
JR Rotem
Danja
Swizz Beats
DJ Toomp
Brain BK Kidd
Kanye West

I imagine more production from: Khao, Keith Mack, Lil C, Tony Galvin, The Runners

I hope for Just Blaze and Mannie Fresh as well 8)

yea that would have been a hot beat for em - 9th wonder would be interesting

i wanna hear him over some cool & dre as well - not sure he's had a beat of there's on any of his cd's; has been on some guest appearances with cool & dre beats.

yeah. i know he going through his situation but i wanna hear some t.i.p. shit on there too.

like he said he writes bout what hes doin at the time and guns/drugs aint really in his life right now - im sure will definitely have a few gun/drug lines here and there but not nearly as much as before

I personally am looking forward to this album more than any other TI album - I think this can be his 2nd classic for real. These tracks sound SICK: No Matter What (we know it is) My Life, Your Entertainment, Collect Call & Sittin On Top Of The World.

mainstream joints: I'm Illy, Louis Ray, Let My Beat Pound & What's Up, What's Happening.
Title: Re: paper trail
Post by: Black Excellence on June 12, 2008, 02:53:37 PM
oh you've heard those joints? did toomp do any of those?

i havent heard any of those i named but he explained the concept behind each one and u can tell which ones were club/mainstream joints and which ones were concept driven and meaningful

i dunno which songs toomp did, but he def is on the album in a major way, he's the executive producer - another reason im really lookin forward to it.

true. i loved t.i. vs. tip but i will say it needed toomp. i'm glad he's executive producer. i hope it's a double album.

damn it's been a while..... but t.i. is one of my fav. emcees and i believe he can put it off(i like long albums). every album so far has been at about eightteen tracks. stretchin' it to 25 or 26 wouldn't hurt.

aint even been a year since he dropped his last cd :-\

he always has long albums and no intros or skits - TI VS TIP is the only exception

25 or 26? thats not even really possible since CDs cant be longer than 80 mins unless da songs are really short and that'd be wack since it'd sound more like a mixtape. 16-18 tracks is perfect.

Post by: Black Excellence on June 12, 2008, 03:12:04 PM
true. but he has enough songs. all eyez on me had 28, ugk's joint had like 30. i say 18 is cool.

I don't see why he wouldnt get more beats from fresh. He's gotten some of his biggest hits off him.

Also, Luna - did the original Help Is Coming with the sample ever leak out? I heard it in that youtube vid and it KILLS the retail version.

Why would you want a double album. Name a recent dope double album.

i think for the simple fact that he's still recording it makes for a much better album. i'm sure paper trail will be a classic. even though i like when he don't write his lyrics down.

yeah it should be dope. I don't believe he stopped writin lyrics after I'm Serious; Trap Muzik was WAY to good to be free styled. Maybe after that, but definitely not trap muzik.
Title: Re: paper trail
Post by: R1ZE on June 12, 2008, 04:51:13 PM
imo when ti writes his stuff it just seems like hes trying too hard to be dope. its unnatural. he had good performances on his last two records, but lets see what he can come with

help is coming - the album version was great at first, but whenever i hear the sampled version it turns to shit. the og is just so much more epic
Title: Re: paper trail
Post by: Black Excellence on June 12, 2008, 04:54:32 PM
the reason i like when he don't write is bcuz it comes out the way he talks wit that heavy southern accent instead of soundin all proper and shit. but i don't think he wrote on trap muzik. that album made him one of my favorite emcees. i like that you did that trap muzik thread awhile bacc. we need one for t.i vs. tip that album is a classic and is underrated.
Title: Re: paper trail

^yea he does sound more proper when he writes..i also like the accent more (no homo)..yea trap muzik cd made him my favorite artist easily..yessir had 2 do that trap muzik thread fa sho, shit is a fuckin classic..i uno bout TI VS TIP bein a classic, its def under rated and get's hated on way 2 much, the beats and lyrics were bangin

order of his best albums

Trap Muzik

well i did rate it at the bottom if his discography
he sounds weird cause hes super young on it
it has some DOPE cuts though - hotel, dope boyz (CLASSIC, all my TI fans kno wassap with that one)
the problem with it was he tried to appeal to all audiences with it - didnt have no direction
its still a pretty damn good album though - just not touchin his other 4

well i'm serious is my least favorite t.i. album. i think it's good  a couple of those songs coulda came off. i do think it's overrated though.
