my computer has crashed 2 times in the last 2 years. Both times my brother just put in a linux boot disk, and we could get on the hardrive that way. Then I burned all the stuff I wanted, and re-installed windows.
now I have 2 harddrives, 1 for operating, and one for storage.
-
I need to back up but I never do it. Even though I lost 10,000 songs a few years back.

holy smokes, thats terrible
when my pc crashed i lost like 300 to 400 songs
what i did was made a list of all the songs and categorized them by the alphabet; it took me a few dayz to get bout 95% of the list back lol

I have a laptop with a 40gb drive.
I have a lot of information I want to backup. I have it currently on my laptop and also a 250GB external drive (a good amount of stuff is on the external drive only).
I'm looking to get this external 400gb network drive and access it over my wireless home network...
http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11101199&whse=BC&topnav=&browse=
But I've also considered gettting an external dvd burner... it's cheaper and I technically won't "run out of space" as long as I have black dvd's...
I don't know... anyone have any opinions? Backup on dvd's vs. backup on drives... which is best?

from what i heard dvds is not the best way to back up.... they wear out after a while, use regular cd-r's or just hard drives

^ thanks... I've decided to go with the network external drive.
Peace 8)
