I'm impressed, very nice collabo. Saigon spits fire over the Statik beats. Best song on the album is still "The Rules"!

Don't wanna start a new topic: Info on GSNT
Via HipHopDX:
With singles “Pain in My Life” and “Come on Baby” releasing in the last few years, Saigon says he has not been given sufficient backing from radio stations for The Greatest Story Never Told, especially after what happened in 2007 concerning a Mobb Deep/Hot 97 show. “What people don’t really realize is that the Prodigy [click to read] incident almost fucked my career up…Being that it was a Hot 97 event, the program director pulled it, so I was pretty much banned from the radio.”
While the latest track, “Believe It,” was released online last spring, Saigon stated that there was no intention for it to hit radio airwaves. “That was pretty much our song to say, ‘fuck it, we off Atlantic.’ We never really worked that as a single at all.”
With that said, he did explain that once The Greatest Story Never Told does find a new home, he would like to put out “It’s Alright,” co-produced by Just Blaze and Kanye West. “I definitely want to use that as a single,” he stated.

Continuing, Saigon added, “It’s a record featuring Marsha Ambrosius from Floetry [click to read]. I think that will be one of the more impactful records [off of The Greatest Story Never Told]. It’s a real touching record.”
Ambrosius, who is signed under Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Records, also has her own project in works, which Saigon commented on. “Just [Blaze] is doing a lot on her record. I’m hearing a lot of it behind the scenes, and it’s coming out amazing.”

Wow, I wasn't expecting this!
-
Is this available anywhere else besides iTunes? I'd like a hard copy.
-
Goddamn, I used all my emusic credits up for the month, completely forgetting that this and Reks were dropping.
FUCK!
Will have to buy a booster pack. Need new Statik beats.

FIYAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Statik killin em on the instrumental tip
-
As of today, best release of 2009. Reks don't count because More Grey Hairs are just leftover from Grey Hairs. Saigon and Statick have a tight chemistry. Nice sampling and scratches for Saigon to show his MC talent. Dope!
-
Statik is putting out the DOPEST beats lately! 8)
this is so good, cant wait for a full album by him! 8)
-
songs are short, but i expected that.
but the best songs are:
To Be Told
The Rules
Prepare For War
every song is mad good, but these 3 stood out just a little bit more for me, like if these 3 songs are 5/5, the rest are all 4-4.5/5. 8)
-
was Spit in GTA IV?
i dont know, they shout out Liberty City in the beginning lol. :P

Word, Instrumental LP please.
And yep, this is fire.

Hmmm... I'm reading your replies and I don't feel the same way as you guys. You can see that the project was done quickly. The only joint I really feel is The Rules. The other beats are kinda 'ehhh' for a producer as dope as statik. I dunno, maybe it's just me. :-\
As for Saigon, the guy's dope, we all know that. Nothing to be blown away tough, imo.

it actually was in GTA4 tho :P
anyway, dope album so far. probably gonna end up being my fav of the year so far, but that isnt saying much.
-
few tracks in and its sounding alright. dont like the hook in track 2 thats all i can fault at the moment, but for 24 hours work it seems good.
so was the bonus track recorded in the 25th hour :P
-
Great album, especially considering it was done in a day. Fresh vibe, my favourite tracks are Rules and Prepare For War. Only song that I don't like is the bonus track, doesn't fit with the rest of the album.
BTW I was going crazy where I heard the sample on "Spit" before. Finally rememberd that it was that Soopafly, Xzibit & Daz track "Welcome 2 L.A."
-
can someone hook me up with a link?
-
saigon > joe budden
-
Definetly. He doesn't have a weak spot as far as I'm concerned.
-
for an album made in 24 hours. This shit is off the fuckin hook. Beatz are crazy, and saigons flow is crazy.
did statik make all these beats in that session or were they premade and sai just selected the ones he wanted?
-
Not sure about that one. But they did announce another album coming soon 8)

???
if you mean "what is he saying, this is a full album?!?", i just personally dont think it is.
some of the songs are 2 minutes long, some less.
i mean a full, time taken, high budget album with a major label backing it.
like Greatest Story Never Told, will be. ;) 8)

you know what tho? i love short albums! especially when their short and dope. I dont enjoy albums that are like 18 tracks long with 5-10 filler tracks. not my steez.
-
Word I hate when albums be like 18 cuts and most of it's trash. A great example is Game's albums.
A perfect album is about quality so I ain't ruling out shit but usually there's a minimum of ten tracks and maximum of 15.
-
i am fine with 11 songs; i agree with that statement.
but half of the songs were like 2 mintues long.
if every song was 4:30, with 3 verses & some hot hooks, id concider it a full album.

no, it isn't, digital only release
Well, fuck. Apparently Saigon & Statik don't like my money.
-
This album was mehhh, not really a fan of this typa sounding music, 2 boring for me!!!
