in NHL when is it cool to fight ? and what happens after you fight ?

Usually, fights in the nhl happen becuase the two players had been going at it the whole game. So they just drop the gloves and start swinging. They BOTH get penelties.

so they fight at the expense of a penalty ?

thats fuckin sick, i didnt realise they can just do that... i thought they just go at it without the ref's permission...
