Title: Windows XP
Post by: Noon Bank$ on July 07, 2003, 09:22:42 AM
I got a question...
Ive been wanting to get Windows XP for awhile now, since I only got Windows98, but tha only problem is..When I get my money I dont wanna spend $80 on Windows XP. Do you think it would be possible for me to download XP's home edition from mIRC? I tried to search for it, but I really couldnt find one. Maybe you guys could tell me where to look?

Holla back

^Well actually, windows XP comes with an activation key, to prevent it from being used on diffrent computers illegally, so burning a retail copy of the CD and installing it wouldn't exactly work.  There are cracks out to fix that, but many don't work too well.

You can download WINDOWS XP PRO from Kazaa though, so I suggest you try that.

Is there a difference between XP Pro and XP home?
Thanks Man.

There isn't a huge ammount of diffrent really, the Home and Professional editions of Windows XP are nearly identical; the only differences are additional features found in the Professional edition that most likely won't appeal to home users.  PRO just has more advanced features which would appeal to advanced users, but if you'r just a regular PC user then it doesn't really matter.  But since you'r most probably going to download it instead of buying it, I suggest you got for PRO.  Peace

XP should be on both mIRC and Kazaa.. but if you can wait until next year.. they're gonna launch Windows LongHorn.. should be even better than XP.

Windows Longhorn Alpha is actually leaked on the net and can be found on mIRC (dunno about Kazaa).  Download it, install it, and let me know how it is  :D

I do not know which pc you are running on but Windows XP Pro takes alot of space on your pc. XP home edition takes less space. But its a fact that XP Pro is to be installed more offend so if you find someone with XP Pro then it should be fine.

Man that activation key shit don't even work... A friend of mine burned me a CD of WinXP Pro and put a crack on the CD as well. Cracked the activation system myself, works like a charm. If you ain't connected to the internet until you cracked it you're set. I paid 2€ for the guy who burned the copy, that's it. Bill Gates don't need mo' money anyways.
