like son, why is this nigga postin shit on here like niggaz care if it's a Daz solo project. who's he tryna reach or talk to on here, what fan base is he reaching? last time i checked Daz was only good in tha hood and with 3 people on dubcc who aren't in charge of what goes on on this site.
like he'll never talk to me or anybody else that ain't from Overseas but yet this nigga will come on will here speaking in code with absolutely NO type of Translation Sheet/Legend whatsoever and then expect us to care or support it or at the very least talk about it. like son, give up, nobody cares anymore, you're way past your prime. yes i know so. in 2011 NOBODY talks about Tha Dogg Pound ANYWHERE UNLESS they're mentioning Snoop Dogg (not Dr. Dre, not 2pac, not them by themselves). Dubcc created this atmosphere where Tha Dogg Pound is looked upon as some sakret band but in reality they're not and they haven't been since around 00'/01' (other than Snoop AND Tha Eastsidaz when they were releasing albums).
it's tha same thing I see with DJ Quik, except tha different with Daz and Quik is that Quik actually releases songs here and there that'r quality vs Daz just releasing songs just for the sake of releasing songs.
Like I've BEEN wanted to say this shit but I see how misguided crackers and foreign white people are so I'm pretty much left with no choice but to 'act' on the quality of the product they release verses the overall product they release.
Tha Dogg Pound is wack son, Soopafly's new album was super wack, like not even funny wack and all I did was hear the snippets on Amazon. I'm like Suge or Barry Gordy and them other niggaz, I ACTUALLY POSSESS a SKILL that allows to me to tell a hit from a miss within the first 30 seconds or less. People like Daz and regular ordinary 9 to 5 individuals don't really. I'm not saying people can't tell if shit is wack or not but I've bred myself to be that way with intention.
But to directly answer your question, Hell yeah. If u can tell me anything relevant that Daz or Tha Dogg Pound has done in tha past 10 years other than give that recycled beat to Cam'Ron in 2003 and reunite and help keep supporting Snoop Dogg. U can't name anything, all u'll give me is the "life goes on" excuse every entertainer gives u when they've realized that they aren't who they once used to be (it's a shock to them and i can see why lol, but no Lol).

I disagree tho - I've seen Daz live twice in the past year and he was more on point than both Snoop and Kurupt. I also think he carries Tha Dogg Pound albums whenever they come out, I feel like he's surpassed Kurupt in terms of flow and consistency in the past 3-4 years.
As for his solo stuff, I haven't heard anything since Public Enemiez, but the single on his "D.A.Z." album I felt was on point.
I think he has a bad rep around here for whatever reason, but in hindsight, with the exception of Snoop and Game, who's been more consistent with quality music in the past 10 years on the West? (That actually gets RELEASED, so this doesn't count Crooked I) RAW, Life I Lead, Love in These Streetz, DPGC U Know, So So Gangsta - all of those are some damn quality albums. Even some of the stuff after had a lot of quality on it.

From what I saw, people weren't going out of there way to diss him, he used to just come in threads sounding pissed off typing in all caps. That's not interacting. Sure it's cool that he posts songs from time to time, but the fact that he rips into fans for just having an opinion while sounding ignorant as fuck at the same time doesn't really make me respect the guy a whole lot.

All egotism aside, Radiotube has a point. DPG is boring as fuck nowadays and Daz is always doing the same verse over and over. I mean he has 3 types of verses really, the "crippin'" verse, the "legend" verse where he brags about his past accomplishments (the chronic, doggystyle, dogg food, check his song with Freddie Gibbs), and the "nonsensical" verse where he just says random shit. That's why i've more or less stopped checking for Daz's shit. He sounds like a retarded teenager lol. That being said, he still comes up with decent productions (with his co-producers) at least and there's something about his flow that makes him entertaining in spite of all the retarded shit he says lol. Like Spice 2 said with DJ Quik, he makes bumpable music. Music to ride to without paying attention to song structure, rhyme scheme and subject matter lol.
Spice 2 is reaching a bit. Daz never shined on the mic but never really ruined any song. I'd say Kurupt has ruined far more songs despite being a far better rapper. The only song Daz "ruined" was I Got My Mind made Up where his verse isn't all that and we can barely hear his voice. Also Dillinger & Young Gotti is a very good album (personal classic to me) and is definitely worthwhile checking just for the Mike Dean instrumentation & the Daz/Kurupt chemistry.
On a more positive note, according to Daz's twitter, he's hooking up with the likes of 8Ball, Curren$y, Layzie Bone, or Z-Ro to do music, that should be interesting.

Daz is the only rapper from the Dogg Pound, who managd to evolve. Kurupt n Snoop fell off so bad (altho Kurupt can still be very sharp wit his pencil n lyrics, dependin on the mood n inspiration obviously), but Daz stepped up his craft as an artist/Pefromer,
he was terrible on the mic back in the early Death Row-days. "nuthin but a g thang (freestyle mix)", "got my mind made up", "iniated" (list goes on),, :puke: but today he performs better than Kurupt n Snoop most of the times on their songs together (especially when hes wit Snoop). he is polishin his vocals, punchin in wit adlibs n layers, a very poignant n energetic presence (while kurupt slurs like a depressed alcoholic)
his pengame is still the same tho -- but ur not supposed to focus on his lyrics, just roll wit the flow n take it for what it is. ignorant/fun braindead gangsta shit - "D.A.Z." was a great album, n probly the best Dpg-release in yrs (along wit the latest Soopafly-album)
i do agree, that the subject matter tends to become VERY, very repititive in his case, n he should take a vacation n let some inspirational air soothe his clouded neanderthal-brain. hes old, clockin in at 40

i agree with that, that's what i mean when i said he made good "bumpable" music "to ride to". as far as his subject matter i'll give him props for one thing though : he occasionally drops nice "deeper" songs like There's Someway Out (Dillinger & Young Gotti), Do U Know, My Mama Said (Dogg Pound Gangsta LP), 2nd II None (Public Enemiez)... nothing groundbreaking or brilliant, but cool songs nonetheless.

i saw Daz in July and he was on point. Despite his redundant music, Daz is a professional and has an impressive stage presence. You may not like his stuff but he knows his hustle and vocally he is always on point.

Iam a fan of Daz, he good to the fans by releasing the sort of music they want to hear(for the most part) and regularly. However, he treats his fans like shit as far as how many of them he has ripped off an shit. To me though i hope he keeps making music. i do care. Daz's production level hasn't dropped that much IMO. it's just that as an independent dude, he is cheap as fuck and not prone to have his shit properly mixed by Dre or Mike Dean and mastered by the brian gardners. kinda like how JT The Bigga Figga and many artists from the bay drop albums with good productions but poor mixing/mastering. but Daz and his co-producers always come up with interesting productions composition wise and instrument wise. they're just cheap. I was very surprised by the quality of the production on Public Enemiez. D.A.Z. has also very decent production (that's the only positive aspect of the album lol). same for Matter of Dayz.
the main difference also is that during the Death Row days the credits were shady and we don't really who was responsible for what on a lot of tracks. like Soopafly said Dre was involved on Big Pimpin' and he isn't credited at all on the Above the Rim booklet. the musicians aren't credited on All Eyez On Me (Quik said Cornelius Mims replayed the bassline live on Skandalouz). we don't know who really produced These Days, Soopafly said he did it with Daz, Quik said he did the beat and Teddy RIley finished it and the credit says produced by Nate Dogg. for all we know Daz might have only laced the generic loop of every song he is credited as a producer (that's what Snoop more or less says in his 06 dubcnn interview but he's not necessarily reliable) and every musician/technician then added their input to the song.
