Title: Brotha Lynch Hung - Best Of (Greatest Hits)
Post by: That_Cracka_J on May 13, 2002, 06:38:57 PM
Brotha Lynch Hung – Best of Brotha Lynch

1. 24 gone…Ill production and ill lyrics from Lynch.  Sounds like it was recorded around 1995 because it could’ve fit on Season of the Siccness.  5/5
2. Situation dirty…From the Bout It soundtrack.  The intro is cut off in this version which is cool, because I think the intro lasted too long in the original.  4.5/5
3. Blood on the rug part 2…Way better than the first one.  The original was just a stolen track anyway with only 1 Lynch verse.  The new beat is ten times better.  4.5/5
4. Refuse to lose…One of Lynch’s best.  The slow beat combined with the chorus by Phonk Beta, plus Lynch’s sick lyrics.  Perfect song.  5/5
5. Dead man walkin’ (remix)…Of course the original is the shit, but damn, this one is the shit too.  The beat is slowed down and it seems as if Lynch is off beat at first, but then it just flows right into the beat and fits.  5/5
6. That’s what I said…Just an average song featuring Loki.  Weak chorus.  3/5
7. The corpse came to dinner…From the Now Eat soundtrack.  This song is hella tight.  Lynch’s flow is untouchable, especially the first verse talking about Jeffrey Dalmer.  5/5
8. Liquor sicc (remix)…Again, I didn’t think the original version could be improved upon, but you can’t help but nod your head to the beat.  The original beat comes back for the chorus, then fades back into the remix.  5/5
9. On my briefcase (remix)…I was never really a fan of the first version and I actually like it better.  A slow song, but nothing really much to it.  3/5
10.   R.I.P. (radio)…The radio version of Rest in Piss.  The beat sounds a bit different.  Of course the un-edited version is better, but this one’s still bangin’.  It loses half a point for being radio version.  4.5/5
11.   Guess what’s growing…An unreleased song featuring Mr. Doctor.  Very nice beat and good lyrics from both of them.  4/5
12.   Walkin’ to my funeral (remix)…I loved the original, but I like this one even better.  The production is off the hook.  The only complaint I have here is the chorus drags on.  5/5
13.   Went way (remix)…I like the original better, but still a tight remix.  It sounds a lot like the original beat.  3.5/5
14.   Xcalibur…No remix here and it didn’t need it.  Classic Lynch with sick ass lyrics.  The beat has an older feel to it, but I’m lovin’ it.  5/5
15.   One mo pound (remix)…The first version was better.  Still a nice remix.  3.5/5
16.   Every single…A remake of X-Raided’s song from 1992.  Lynch puts a nice twist on it and it’s got that signature siccmade sounding production and it still has a 70’s feel to it.  4/5
17.   24 deep…The original.  No remix needed.  Starts out with just a bassline for the first few verses and the drums come in.  I love it.  4.5/5
18.   Siccmade…One of Lynch’s top tracks.  The epitome of his twisted, sick lyrics.  Production in top notch.  5/5

OVERALL:  9.5/10

This is by far the best greatest hits album ever put out.  I would have traded a couple of songs for better ones, but really you can’t ask for much better.  The remixes are the best I’ve ever heard.  And they were great songs to begin with!  If this CD doesn’t turn someone into a Brotha Lynch fan, then they must be deaf.
