Raptalk.Net sat down with the one of the brighest up and coming MC's on the south, Stat Quo.
Recently, Stat put out a new brand (free download) street album titled, "The Bailout." We get into detail regarding that project, specifically about the content and issues tackled by Stat throughout the project as it sees his subject matter shift from "trapping" to conscious world and political issues. Read the reasoning behind that, what it will do for his fans and what he hopes Barrack Obama will do for this country.
As a follow up, Stat is following up that project on January 1st 2009, with yet another free download mixtape, "QuoCity." Quite the interesting title, learn why Stat decided to name that specific project what he did and what fans can expect from the project.
We finally get into the experience Stat Quo had on Interscope Records; why he felt he was trapped with the situation, the old school mentality which is held over at Interscope, why his label release felt like he graduated from College and much more.

It's getting pretty clear that Stat is just milking the whole "I'm gonna leak the album" thing. I would love to see it but I don't see it happening.

Meho & Red Spyda: I disagree. He is going to do it. I think he's just dropping these free projects to gain a buzz for the free release of Statlanta and make sure it does it's proper number of downloads. Why would anyone complain (Red Spyda) about these free projects? "The Bailout" was sick!

but fans can only take so much before they stop being fans. look at crooked i for example, he's released alot of free projects, all while saying 'boss is coming!' and now he'd be lucky to have any fans left at the end of next year .. i think stat is gonna be the crooked i of the south

i disagree because Statlanta is coming for free. if he said he was still dropping it in stores, i'd understand the concern of it coming out. he's gonna put it out for free, it's 100% coming.

Well I hope it comes out.its funny I never cared for the guy until the re up dropped.that by my side tracks was fire.but then just like that interscope clears house.the south got something to say and statlanta were both sick

props on the interview but i doubt he has half the stuff he worked on over at aftermath. Whats he going to do? go in and get his music back? Especially when he does not own the masters? I hope you're right luna but right now i see the beats from dre he was used for probably going elsewhere most likely...and if stat does have a cd of statlanta somewhere, he better leak that shit soon! 8)

I hope this happens. His recent mixtapes were fire. The Game dropped Here We Go Again and that wasn't supposed to be out. Stat probably has the files. He said it'd be for free to avoid much legalities which despite what he spits in the interview is probably a concern for him especially since he's got a son. He's not stupid. If he keeps this persona up - the real talk and hot material - he's going to be my favorite in the game.

tbh fuck them. They didnt promote his singles or him as ana artist properly and now expect him to walk away from it all without the stuff hed done with Em and Dre. smh

Here We Go was just Game adding himself to the Dre snippet. That was common for Game mixtape shit back in 05, he was adding himself to various tracks, that doesn't make the song or the remix official.

Well, seeing as he's done like five or six interviews saying he's going to do it, it ain't that hard to put him behind it. And I'm pretty sure that the label can sue him whether he charges people for it or gives it away for free. They've spent money on it and they are the legal copyright owners so we'll see. I'd love to hear it just the same but I can imagine there being some heavy legal ramifications behind Stat leaking it. Guess time will tell on that one.

well, if stat is a smart guy then they won't be able to do anything ;)
