Come listen to my truest thoughts, my truest feelings
All my peers doing years beyond drug dealing
How many caskets can we witness
Before we see it's hard to live This life without God, so we must ask forgiveness
Ask mama why I got this urge to die
Witness the tears falling free from her eyes, Before she could reply
Though we were born without a silver spoon
My broken down TV, show cartoons in my living room
One day I hope to make it A player in this game,
Mama don't cry, long as we try Maybe things change,
Perhaps it's just a fantasy
A life where we don't need no welfare
we share with our whole family
Maybe it's me that caused it, The fighting and the hurting
In my room crying cause I didn't want to be a burden
Watch mama open up her arms to hug me
And I ain't worried bout a damn thang, she still love me

yea he got a point, toot it and boot it was WAAAAAY more lyrical...

Tupac was definitely lyrical but you gotta look at it from that era of music when Hip Hop was still considered a fad and was still growing. But not just Hip Hop that goes for any form of art or sport whether it's Rap Battles, Breakdancing, Basketball, Flair Bartending whatever, shit that was impressive 18 years ago might not work in this day & age But if you compare 2Pacalypse to any Hip Hop album that was out in 1991 it stacks up there with the best of them but the unique trait that Pac brang to the table was emoting his rhymes, he pour his heart into the lyrics and conveyed his feelings better then anybody. Sure anybody can just rhyme a bunch of random nonsensical shit but to have structure and meaning in a song, to concoct stories & allegories takes a lot of skill rather then just a bunch of mindless rhymes. You want to talk about someone who isn't lyrical, look at Spider Loc who just spit a bunch of nursery rhyme bullshit u cant compare Pac to something like that

That always confuses me. I see internet dudes or east coast dudes always saying Biggie was way more lyrical than Pac. But you look at Big's actual lyrics on paper and they're really not. Most of the time he was rhyming simple words together. It was the nigga's flow that made him sound amazing, not the lyrical content. Sure there are some songs where Pac rhymed hennessey and enemy one too many times, but you look at the songs where Pac flowed his ass off and they come off way more lyrical than Big's shit.

you must be new to rap :| it's cool I gotta give u foreigners a pass cuz y'all don't know how to listen to rap properly. Look up a song such as Changes where he's damn there rhyming 3 syllable words in nearly every line how you gon tell me that's not lyrical.

Quote
I see no changes wake up in the morning and I ask myself
is life worth living should I blast myself?
I'm tired of bein' poor & even worse I'm black
my stomach hurts so I'm lookin' for a purse to snatch

I see no changes all I see is racist faces
misplaced hate makes disgrace to races
We under I wonder what it takes to make this
one better place, let's erase the wasted
Take the evil out the people they'll be acting right
'cause both black and white is smokin' crack tonight
and only time we chill is when we kill each other
it takes skill to be real, time to heal each other
And although it seems heaven sent
We ain't ready, to see a black President, uhh
It ain't a secret don't conceal the fact
the penitentiary's packed, and it's filled with blacks
But some things will never change
try to show another way but you stayin' in the dope game
Now tell me what's a mother to do
bein' real don't appeal to the brother in you
You gotta operate the easy way
"I made a G today" But you made it in a sleazy way
sellin' crack to the kid. " I gotta get paid,"
Well hey, that's the way it is

it's a common misconception, it's because of people like you that rumors get spread. Yes biggie is so much more superior lyrically with verses such as "You look so good huh, I suck on your daddy's dick (yeah)"

Let's be real, someone who is truly not lyrical is Bizarre, listen to him then listen to Pac and you'll see the contrast. Not saying Pac was the best lyricist out there but to say he's not lyrical is an understatement

people like you?

look Einstein,
its not about any "rumours" - its called "comprehension"..

2pac wasnt a lyricist, he was a life-documentarian.
rap was a tool for him and his inner thoughts, and he used it to reflect his mentality in vocals.

not to spit any damn punchlines or lyrics

That's like saying how many times you hear Eminem rhyme Money with funny and run from me:

"I already gave you my lunch money what more do you want from me?
don't try to run from me"

"So gimme all your money
and don't try nothing funny because you know your stinkin ass too fat to try and run from me"

"it's funny I remember back when you and daddy had no money
Mommy wrapped the Christmas presents up
And stuck 'em under the tree and said some of 'em were from me"

"What's Money?
Money is what makes a man not funny"

"Blacks only want your money
And that shit aint funny"

oh but i guess that means Em isn't lyrical

At the end of the day, regarding the Biggie comparisons as usual, Biggie was a great rapper and that's where it stops. I'm sick of this argument though, two rappers who really shouldn't be compared at all, no disrespect to Big, but it's not fair to compare him to Pac. Maybe Rakim, but not Biggie. Just because he was the other "big thing" at the time, New York's "big thing", does not mean he needs to ALWAYS be brought up when talking comparisons for 2Pac. To me, I know many will agree but be too soft to say it, Pac was easily better, he was much more than a rapper.

Excuse me but this guy is a nobody rapper.  2Pac actually was a very damn fine lyricist.  You have to look back to his first album to see that style.  Listen to that from front to end and you'll see that he actually was gifted.  He stepped back from being too lyrical on later albums because he was trying to be different from rappers like Rakim and being more straight forward and to the point.

Who the fuck is YG???? 2Pac was a POET. He was also Lyrical but not necessarily the best lyricist. You heard Hennessey in many songs because he could also make HIT records. He had conscience music and G shit. He had music for everyone. Biggie was also lyrical with his classic slow flow but could spit it either way though. 2 of my favorite MCs!
