I Reaaally don't know if this is true.. but it sounds dooope !
Dr. Dre is planning a December 16, 2008 release for his most anticipated album “Detox”. He has worked with Bishop Lamont, Eminem, Lloyd Banks, 50 Cent, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Nas, Jay-Z, Warren G, Lil Wayne, Tony Yayo, Cassidy and many more. The first single is titled “Fuckin’ Wit Me (Issues)” and is produced by Dr. Dre and Mel-Man. It features Bishop Lamont, Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg. No video has been spoken on yet. But, it should be hot. Also, he spoken on his sons death, and he recorded a track entitled “The Message 2″ which features Ryan Leslie, Nate Dogg and Keyshia Cole.
Sha Money XL blogs on his site that people rather should drop their LPs now, because 2009 the monster is coming. He refers to 50 Cent’s album “Before I Self Destruct”, Dr. Dre’s “Detox” and an Album called “The Empack”. Looks like “The Empack” will be Eminem’s long awaited Album. With this blog being posted, it looks to me like “Before I Self Destruct” is gonna get released in 2009 and not December 2008.

Sounds dope, but just too good to be true.
1. December 16th I think is just too soon from now to release Detox, especially with the promotion that I'm sure Dre will want to put behind it.
2. I can't see his 1st single featuring all three of Bishop Lamont, Snoop Dogg & Ice Cube. Maybe seperate songs, but not all 3 on the single.
3. The single is called "Fuckin' With Me"? I can't see Dre using that title on a 1st single either.
-
doubt it
-
I got instantly wet when I read the line-up!
-
LOL!!
-
ungh! what did i say?
poor dre, you can tell hes grievin deep down.
guess we'll see "The Message 2" on detox
this is the best news i've heard all day (if its for real-for real) i am skeptical on the date said doe.
but hey. the chronic was released in december of 92. and the first single nuthin but a g thang came out a month later in january. then i can see where hes goin wit this

Sorry a song called "Fuckin' With Me" is not getting played on MTV. Why do I mention MTV, well if you remember the huge hype Still D.R.E. had on MTV when 2001 was released. No way he can create that hype with this song name.
I'm thinkin' either someone got misinformation, or it's not true at all.

I'm sure if such a song were the title that they'd have a radio-friendly version called "Messing With Me". It's happened before, so nothing new if that's the case.

Don't forget Dre Day's real title is "Fuckin Wit Dre Day" and they just changed it to Dre Day for the clean version.
-
if the song is real, they could also change it to just "Issues."
-
from what i understand , Dre wants this album to be grown up shiit, so i doubt this could be the title for a first single
-
Sounds like bullshit to me.
-
I'm thinking it's getting more serious..This latest round of rumors is picking up major steam and Dec 16th is still almost 3 months away, so it's not out of the question. Aftermath has been quiet all of 2008, but with this release, Dre could still own 08 by selling atleast 2.5 million copies by New Years. I have a good feeling about this latest shit we've been hearing. GET READY
-
doubt it

Someone call Bishop. Some dudes on hear know Cube , also.

I considered this, it just doesn't sound right to me that's all. Could be wrong though.

"The Message 2" sounds like bullshit, though. His son died a month ago, and he managed to get Nate Dogg in between strokes ? That sounds fishy..

This shit looks fake.

Sha Money XL blog calls it the "Three-Headed Monster". >>> http://www.shamoneymotivation.com/search/label/Liquid%20Swords

Just for jokes...who remembers that horrid song they were trying to label as "Next Episode 2007" or Pt. II or whatever, that "There they go" track that used an old Dre verse from Nate's album in 2000? People were REALLY thinking that was a single for Detox...I was like damn, people are way too f'kin gullible!

But all jokes aside... that remix was dope as fuck!

Please don't put Wayne or Yayo on this Pleeeeeeeze :nawty:

I really think this record is actually coming out soon, but I definatly dont want to hear Lil Wayne or anyone from G Unit on it. :-\

Shit, do you want to hear Eminem (my ears still hurt from that one time I heard "Encore") or Jay-Z (:-X) on it?
-
oh man that guest lineup looks horrible
-
faaaaake! sure stuff will come out in '09 though...
-
bogus news.....he ain't releasing that shit til' 09' sometime.....
-
great.
-
I don't see this as being true, just wishful thinking...I will say this though....Dre and Em releasing back to back whether it be 2008 or early 2009 is an easy combined 6-8 million sold.......I"m shortchanging it cause this ain't 2000-2003 when it could have been maybe double that total...Throw in 50's 1-2 million and with the buzz Bishop's 1-2 million and it could be a great time for Interscope....Maybe the last great stand for the label hip hop wise.
-
im not going to buy into all the detox coming out in dec hype till there is official word from interscope

Own 2008?? LOL. Sorry, but Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, DJ Khaled, and the boys in the South "own 2008." Just because Dre is coming out with an album doesn't mean everyone is going to rush to the store to buy it. Especially when DJ Khaled is way bigger than Dre currently (you have a lot of young fans that don't even know who Dre is nor do they care), and the whole South is bumpiing Khaled's new album 'We Global.' And the reason I bring Khaled up is because he's as huge as it gets for compilations and Dre's album isn't officially a compilation, but really resembles one with all the guest spots. I just can't see Bishop Lamont, Ice Cube, Warren G, Nate Dogg, and Kurupt outselling Khaled's guestlist of Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Fat Joe, Akon, T-Pain, Sean Paul, Busta Rhymes. People want to hear T-Pain and Akon, Cool and Dre beats, and banging beats. They don't want to hear serious "issues" or political music. And Khaled's album has the West on it too with The Game dropping a banger and Ray J making a steller appearance.
So no, Dre does not own 2008, The South owns it, and nobody is going to be running to hear Bishop Lamont all over an album (Warren G already tried it, and as great as he is, that was his worst album). It won't flop, but it's not going to overtake "The Boys" (Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Fat Joe, Flo Rida, Trick Daddy, Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne, Two Pistolz, Trey Songz, Plies, Kanye West, T-Pain, and Akon) from running the rap game. Plus, even if it does sell a millie, there's so much rap music people aren't going to care to wait 10 years for the next one when you have "The Boys" and all these other rappers from coast to coast dropping tons of music. "The Boys" are "out here grindin" while Dre is making rumors about an album the last 6 years. I wonder if he will drop first or Crooked I. LOL~

-Wayne has certainly owned 2008
- Ross? so-so; he's sold like 600K or so; not exactly amazing, he'll really struggle to go platinum
- lol what's with your love for Khaled? he just sold 50K 1st week; Dre would sell 50K first day when it comes out
-Half of these artists u named flopped (khaled, fat joe, flo-rida, 2 pistols, and trick didn't even drop an album lol).
u forgot T.I. who will sell more albums than all the artists u named besides maybe lil wayne
-
So many people are fiendin' for this disc it will outsell any 2008 rap album within the first 2 weeks. Xmas season would be very smart to drop it, 'cuz folks are out shopping and returning shit all the way up to New Years day.

Yeah, you said it all...I was like "wait...dude said Khaled is bigger than Dre?" Just because somebody's on TV all the time doesn't mean everyone really likes em or cares for em at that level...some younger fans may not know Dre as much, but everybody knows him, and the crowd who doesn't know him isn't the crowd that really buys records like that. Dre's overall fanbase is strong enough for him to release an unreleased CD that would outsell whatever Khaled does.

exactly..most artists he named don't sell shit but ring tones..album comes out and flop..the type of artists that ppl download their single or ring tone, maybe download the album but don't got a clue on the album title/info/release date and if they do, ain't buyin' it anyway

that first bit of 'news' has no real source, some blogger coulda made it up. the stuff on sha money's site is actually there so you can assume there's at least some truth to it. notice it says all 3 albums to come in '09, no mention of '08. this '08' stuff is BS.
also notice the '3 headed monster' is referred to as 50, dre and em. i wonder if/how bishop lamont is gonna figure in the release schedule or if his album is on hold, perhaps indefinitely.
hopefully some clarification will come soon but either way it looks like detox might actually come out in '09 8)

DJ Khaled bigger than Dre? Give that shit up! I'm sorry but you seem to not comprehend that while these young high school kids and kids in their 20's make up the market. There are people that only buy albums every once in a while and Detox is that album for a lot of people. Detox is a talked about album. Most anticipated in hip-hop. If my 11-year-old cousin can tell me who Hulk Hogan is, I'm sure a 16-year-old rap fan knows who Dr. Dre is. Between Game, Eminem, and 50 Cent, his name has been out there enough in the last 10 years to stay relevant.
-
Cool news, however it sucks that it's out on sha's site and not on a westcoast site like it could be. I think dubcnn and raptalk and whatnot are big enough to have the big doggs give them the info first! That'd be cool. To scroll dubcnn news page one day and see 'Dre Exclusive news'.

"The Message 2" sounds like bullshit, though. His son died a month ago, and he managed to get Nate Dogg in between strokes ? That sounds fishy..

Well Nate could've recorded his hook even a year ago?
Doubt this information is real though.

i doubt Detox will drop on Dec 16th. reading Sha Money's blog it makes it clear that all three albums will be released in 2009.
lets hope for Detox, first quater.
-
^^^^ I'd say more likely fifty 1st quarter followed by Em around June-July and Dre around Nov , if it ever comes out
-
wow, this is ridiculous. are you people STILL talkin about Detox?
until he drops a 1st single, why even bother talkin about it? shit
it's been over 5 years no album, only talks and you people still talk and talk and talk about it like its droppin the next day.
until he drops a single/song of Detox why even bother?
-

you never know. but i do genuinely think its nearing completion now, should be out with plenty of time to spare in '09...

It's a Dre album, I assume an Eminem at his best and in that mode Em fucks up Rappers, not Albums.

the first bit of news is obviously fake so i'd chill on the tony yayo, he isn't gonna be on detox...

Sounds like bullshit. All Detox news is 99.9% bullshit.

I don't have any problems with Eminem as a man, but his music, well... Okay, I can see I'm the only one who doesn't like him. His voice is just irritating me, sorry. That's why I don't listen to What's The Difference, which would be a dope song but I can't stand Eminem's "unique" style. And 2001 was not as good as The Chronic, so I don't expect anything special from Dre this time. But let's hope I won't be right.

Whoa y'all giving him too much credit. :P
Point blank, Long Beach Iz Active is a Snoop stan. I have no problems with stans of anybody per se, but it is what it is. I will say the nigga never misses a chance to diss Crooked I & Dr. Dre in every thread possible. But SMH @ the nigga really believing Crooked I is "old" when his daddy Snoop is damn near 5 years older than Crooked, and yeah I looked that shit up via Intelius.com. LOL! So who is really old, then? But it is what it is. The nigga just likes creating shock posts to get everyone riled up sometimes. Therefore I don't take the nigga too seriously. He's a comic though.
While Long Beach Iz Active can be funny at times, ask him about the time when he posted a month ago that Snoop's last album sold 3x plat worldwide. LMFAO!! I asked the nigga to find me the source of this and he couldn't do it. He said it was "common knowledge nigga". Since the nigga couldn't come up with the facts for this I found an actual source that shows Snoop's last 2 albums combined haven't even sold 3x plat. The nigga is barely @ 1.5 million between 2 albums. LOL! So yeah, I caught the Snoop stan slipping there.
Case in point, don't put too much emphasis on who is real and who isn't on a message board. Afterall, this is the internet. You can't take too much of this shit too seriously. Have a laugh and move on with it. :P

Seriously. The nigga tried to say Ego Trippin was hot so IMO hes a stone cold Snoop dickrider.
-
you niggas acting like Jay, 50, LIl Wayne, R Kelly, Kanye, Puffy, Mary J, aren't all going to be on Detox
shit will be wack, trust me
Yup co-sign.
Im tellin you this dude is the releast poster but niggaz always hate when people tell the truth about their favorite rapper/producer, and im not talkin about whos tough vs whos not, whos the releast cat vs whos not.

I'm a fan of Snoop too, so I have no problems with people being Snoop fans or stans. I understand what Snoop was trying to do with Ego Trippin' but it didn't do anything for me, but I give the nigga props for trying. But truth be told that album felt like a 2.5 or 3.0 out of 5 to me. Very mediocre with a handful of forgetful joints.

^dude let's be real
u were a huge knoc-turn'al fan and rarely talked shit about him; when "Gangsta lean" came out, u was on his jock big time
literally a few weeks after that/ago, me and u started arguing back and forth about T.I. and his new album
then all of a sudden you go around calling knoc wack and talkin' all kinds of random shit about him, when u wasn't bad mouthin' him at all a few weeks earlier
that showed me u were trying to get a rise out of me

ok lol
it's true he's been relatively un-active the last 3-4 years minus a couple guest appearances each year
but this is stuff u would never really say before
and again, the nascar cover shit was fake and he really had nothing to do with it..he told me this shit himself
if u gonna "diss him" leave that album alone and talk bout' how he been un-active..he comin' back though

Okay anybody think it'd be cool to get a 'first look exclusive news update' from dubcnn.com when it comes to dre's album? Someone maybe thru jazzy or snoop make it happen so this is where we get our world premiere and not on some uk aftermath site or sha's site etc; not that there's anything wrong with that , lol, nah anyway, lol @ lil' 1/2 dead being on the album, now if you want a real line-up for detox I heard this one in 'crazy town'. : Snoop, Daz, Kurupt, NateDogg, Lady Of Rage, Lil'1/2 dead, BadAzz, Sam Sneed, Timebomb, Knoc'turn'al, Big Pimpin' Delmond, Ricky Harris, Hittman, Six-2, Xzibit, RBX, Roscoe, Mc.Ren, Ice-Cube, Yella, Lil' E, Tha Game, Warren G, Eminem tha list like that is what I'd luv to see, But it'll be yea, 50, Em, X, G-Unit, Lil'Wayne, Mary J, and the last two even Wayne POSSIBLY lol w/ X would be dope, but please leave off Cassidy and Yayo, Banks 'n them.

Quote from Obie - September 28, 2008: Detroit's FM98 WJLB interviewed Obie Trice today (28th) live on air and Obie said he and DMX will be together on an Eminem song for Em's new album coming late 2008. Obie claims the song will be harder than their first trio collab song called 'Go To Sleep' which was on the movie 'Cradle To The Grave' soundtrack. Furthermore, Obie said his new album is expected to be released on his new signed record label "World Wide Hustle" come early 2009.
Damnnn and the rumours keep coming!!

all bickering aside; you can disagree some of Lunatic63's comments, but he does contribute a lot to the forum, which can't be said of the majority of the posters on here.
there's nothing biased about that, as it's a fact that only a minority contributes here ;)
they deserve props.

In 2006 I remember XXLMAG.com, or some sort of reputable site, saying that Detox was scheduled to be released in fall of '06. They were really convincing with that information they were telling. Even I bought it thinking, if that shit doesn't get released in 2006 it never will. Well here we are in two thousand fucking eight and still waiting.
-
I hope we'll have some Feauring Only Ice Cube/Snoop/Bishop songs and if they are good, I won't care how the other Eminem/50 shit will sound. But I have a bad feeling about that Detox album.

What I think a lot of you look at it the wrong way when you hear 50 Cent, G-Unit, Lil Wayne, etc will appear on Detox. At some point in time all of these rappers put out good material whether you want to admit it or not. Do you really think Dre is going to let some rapper come in and get on Detox just because he's a big star right now? Hell no. That might be the reason why he's recording with them for the album, but if what they recorded is wack, then it's wack and Dre knows that. This is the most anticipated album of all time people, he's not gonna put bullshit out there. Dre brings out the best in anybody that's why I'm not gonna sit here and bitch when I hear who might be featured on the album. Dre is a genius and I'll wait until I listen to the album before I make any judgements.
When 2001 was about to drop I remember hearing SNOOP DOGG would be on multiple songs on the album. I thought oh fuck that because of how wack his No Limit album was. To my surprise it was once again some of Snoop's best work. When I first heard the snippet for Next Episode on that Snoop's Dogghouse website I was so blown away by it I couldn't wait until the real deal dropped.
My main point I'm trying to make is that all you guys are judging the album based on rumors, not on the actual music. None of you have heard the music so don't be jumping to conclusions. Just wait for the music, we've already waited nearly 10 years, you can wait a little longer.
-
:-X @ Lil wacky and cassidy is Dre fukkin serious, and bish lame is horrible rap artist overall

im really curious to hear cassidy over dope dre production.
people really forget that cassidy was a dope battle rapper before getting big,
and he gets pretty serious on the mic. thats one appearance that really surprised me.
i think wayne and dre collaberated good on that one dynamic track.
but yayo and banks? come on man.
no word on if that game track he did over the knottz beat would be included?
-
cant wait to hear this shit, fake or not
-
people are still waiting for this?
-
I don't believe any info about the album that bears Lil' Wayne's name as one of the guest artists.
...and a "Message part 2" sounded way too predictable and fake. Especially when you put Mary J. AND Nate Dogg on the track. It sounded like some kid just imagining what they would like to hear.

it seems like dre is under jimmy's thumb quite a bit but i dont think he will overdo the corny features. jimmy will demand the right singles to help it blow up though. wouldn't be surprised if we hear 50 cent and em on a single.
