That's gotta be among my top 3 most awkward rap performances ever.

The other 2 :)

Dude's just having an early midlife crisis.
He'll be back on the big screen again soon.
-
Damn, that was awkward. I hope he gets back on his feet again. I assume he hooked up with Daz's old supplier.

Its been reported that Diddy will serve as executive producer on his album.....
-
this is what happens when you have money you dont know what to do with and that white he's got must be on point. damn shame though really i like his movies...and lol @ diddy "producing" anything relevant since BIG got clapped.
-
The news totally disapointed me.why would he retire from acting?I enjoyed his movies and his role as Johnny cash was amazing.I could understand if he made a country album but come on.its like every actor wants to be a musician.terrance Howard anyone?ha ha.
-
Would be alot funnier if you could hear what hes saying lol
-
This is what happens when youre rich, you have the resources to do whatever the fuck you want without being told "No". For some things thats great. For others, like this situation, pretty terrible.
-
Damn thats wack, I liked him as an actor

Seems to me like he was just goofing around. It's not like he's releasing an album. He'd have to be twice as good as Eminem just to get half the credit of Federline. I can't ever see it being possible for a white celebrity actor to start a rap career and succeed. Maybe a funny parody rap album.
-
I wish that were true shallow.be he retired from acting to do this.its been confirmed he's releasing an album and its not a parody
-
...... :eh:
that dude is fucking nuts.
he was fucking Johnny Cash; he cant rap lmao!
-
"your right.I am crazy.and guess what?I don't give a fuck"
-
"your right.I am crazy.and guess what?I don't give a fuck"
Tupac from the movie "Juice"! ;D
i am the winner! 8)
but yeah; quote fits perfectly.

Then that really is retarded of him. He really has no chance of succeeding with this album. Even if he doesn't completely suck. Look at John Cena. Rap wasa huge passion for him and he even had guys in the underground saying he wasn't bad but once the album dropped nobody cared. Phoenix would literally have to record the greatest album of the decade just to get people to say he's not bad.
-
Its true but he's probably got lots of money and its a vanity project
-
I enjoy this better then busta rhymes im serious

hes lookin like some sick ass blues dude, i think it would make more sense if he did a bluesy cashish album, i couldnt hear waht he was rapping but it couldnt be any good, and why isnt what johnny doing cosidered rap? cause of the coutnry sounding background, the vocals are straight rap, look up the lyrics, hes flowin his ass off

thats a dumb argument, genres are irrelevant, shallow might give us his its all rock speech, but just listen to it, are you really missing it, look beyond the voice or the music, hes not fully 'singing'

Nah, I was going to keep the it's all rock out of it.
Cham, I never said they were rap songs or should be classified as Hip Hop but if you take the vocal tracks of either I've Been Everywhere, or Devil Went Down to Georgia, added an echo effect and had Rick Rubin producer an 80s style beat they would fit right in on any 80s Def Jam album. Johnny Cash is rapping on those country tracks. Just like Charlie Daniels is rapping on the original Devil Went Down to Georgia http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDm_ZHyYTrg
or on Uneasy Rider '88
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWzTU7VAPLY
He's not singing. He is rhythmically speaking in rhyme. I'm not saying he's Rakim. I'm saying he's rapping. Just like Bob Dylan here;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZ8UqstzNlU and here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-xIulyVsG8
or Frank Zappa was here
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpwCpUEFaDo
or Bruce Springsteen was here
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BN6zFN8cAPs and later here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvwKQkzSUlM
or Woodie Guthrie is here
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4hExgzh1S0
and ofcourse Aerosmith was rapping here, later re-rapped by Run DMC
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UKMyhId1co
People never shut up about black music and how blacks created rock and evolved it, but no one will ever give credit to the white lyricists that helped evolve rapping long before Rakim or Nas ever touched a mic. They didn't invent the style but each one of those guys had a lot to do with influencing the black artists that modern rappers were influenced by.

I completely agree with everything shallow has said
-
Anyone get the feeling that this might be a joke that he is cooking up.. I mean all of a sudden he starts acting like he doesn't give a fuck, falls on the stage like a bum and the whole thing is being filmed by Casey Affleck for a documentary about his new "career".. It seems like there is something more about this whole thing, that we are not told.. Maybe they are doing a "Borat" kind of mocumentary, without letting the publick know. At least that's some of the speculation out there.

That'd actually be pretty cool.
