Listen the Sam Sneed Album on Amazon.com!
What you think about it?
-
Goin' Hollywood was re-done. It's official. Jasz was his artist since the early 2000's. Listening to the rest now.

Well, not re-done really, just finished - I.E. - The Chorus and the new features.

sounds promising

sounds promising
Yep. New track sounds better than I expected them to sound - maybe I'll purchase this after all..
-
I preferred the original version of What I'm Lookin' For but this project sounds quite good tho 8)
-
3 or 4 good songs. the rest sucks!
-
Hope whoever has got the unmastered/untouched Sam DR material decides to put it out cause this stuff deserves to be heard as it was done back then with NO altering whatsoever.

yeah the new tracks are dope but idk since it is a death row release i prefer the old material of course but the rrelease aint bad.. sounds dope.
-
I have not listened to the tracks yet but i think its a no-go that they even touched the old songs. I don't care if the result is good i don't like the idea. I think historic music should be left that way. Its no good idea to remix, tweak or finish oldies. I hope the project will flop otherwise WA think its a good idea to release new music and remix the songs from the vault. I'm very disapointed especially about the lies sam sneed is tellin his 100 fans.
-
dumb...the new tracks are beyond wack compared to the original stuff...fail
-
new tracks don't sound promising at all.
old ones sound amazing.
-
Damn, the old tracks sound dope! based on those snippets the new tracks are ehhhh.
-
i heard the snippets and i`m shocked what an awful release sam put together. the new tracks are garbage with the exception of track 8 (the survior) which sounds average. he even destroyed the beautiful g-funk vibe of what i'm lookin' for - why oh why? the snippets give me the last confirmation that this album is not worth purchasing, so i just download the 2-3 tracks i'm interested in for free.
i'm looking forward to the lbc crew album and hope WA will not repeat the mistake they've done with this trash product.
this don't deserve the death row stamp on it and is a shame for all death row fans, i even wonder where sam lost his talent because around 2000 he dropped some good music after death row but this is unlistenable.
-
with the exception of the 4 ogs, and track 8...this shit sucks....shoulda just gave us the complete og...on top of that i wanna hear sam not a bunch of other cats...shit is a disgrace to the legend of "street scholar"......wideawake took a loss with this...def not supporting this release..
see the thing is, i made it sound really bad with what i said above^^ its not bad at all though...just this shit is so generic for 2010 / 2011...and we know mind blowing better music was made before...
-
I just threw up in my mouth a little.
-
new tracks sound awful... i'm disappointed... if they wanted to profit from this release they should of released the old album like people wanted.. unfinished or not.
old stuff sounds great
new tracks are :monkey_piss:
-
The old catalog is the reason Wideawake bought Death Row...instead of releasing the music the fans wanted and possibly goiing gold they are gonna realese this bullshit and go cardboard...
i will be downloading these three tracks:
12. Lady Heroin (feat. J. Flex) [Explicit] 4:02
13. Goin' Hollywood (feat. Jasz & Cornelius 'Slick' Barnes) [Explicit] 4:11
14. Drug Related [Explicit]
Wideawake is sleeping on the fucking job (pun intended)...pretty fucking stupid when you have a fan base clearly telling you what the want yet you keep releasing bullshit...
-
Half the new tracks sound good to me, and the other half not so good. Survivor is especially dope. Still, they totally fucked up this release. Should've been a double disc.
-
Survivor actually does sound tight. I just can't understand why they would release this new shit before all the old shit was put out.
-
Me too I'm very i`m shocked !! javascript:void(0);
-
damn i never knew lady herion sampled "angel dust" sick use of sampling by sneed!
-
Damn, "The Heist" won't be on this release. WA should've just released all the old material.

Best Lady Heroin has sounded.
Not sure about the newer tracks but lookin' forward to the other g funk on it.
-

Yup.
I mean, Game's "Angel" is good but Lady Heroin is complete fire.
-

I didn't either. Blueberries OG with Snoop sampled Sylvester's "Was it something that I said" but it's a little less impressive because a Big Daddy Kane song sampled it first. Lil Kim also used the same sample on Big Momma Thang.

Shit I never even made the connection there. Game's Angel is one of my favorite songs of his and now that I know this I can see why I liked it so much.
-
damn Joell Ortiz also sampled that Angeldust beat
-
^^^
which Ortiz track is that?
-
I see WA getting a lot of hate, some deservidly but isnt it sams fault for the fans not getting the album they want ?
WA has worked with sam on this album and these are the tracks he wants, he said he wasnt comfortable with releasing some of the older stuff because of the content.
-
Sounds tight. Old songs sounds the best, but the new ones doesn't sound horrible. And it's out on my 36th birthday. 8)

So did Pudgee The Fat Bastard on that 2Pac tribute track

If the song was unfinished, I'd rather hear the finished product than a rough cut of the track. The updated version of "Going Hollywood" sounds a lot more polished than the Youtube clip.
