The more I listen to this song, the more I wonder how I would be accepted if it was done by Snoop. Obviously not the same beat, hook, lyrics, etc but concept wise I am sure Snoop felt the same way about Dre as well. I just find it funny that the buzz single has Snoop and the official single is with Eminem. I get the acclaim and everything Em has right now.
-
It's 2011 nobody cares about snoop
-
would be dope but as you mention with a different hook, beat, everything!
-
Eminem has been ferociously hated on since Recovery did so well last summer.
It's the same as a few years ago when Lil' Wayne first became the biggest, most hyped up artist.
But that song already happened on "Kush" & people liked it until he did this last song, then for some odd reason one song changed their opinion of another lol.

True, and by no means am I hating on the lyrics or the song Em and Dre did. I'm one of the few that actually likes the track, I was just speaking on the song and the lyrics itself. Would it come off more like begging from Snoop? I mean he has reached out to Dre many times. Just a observation
-
The thing is that very few rappers make really personal records. Most hip-hop records are about money, ho's, smoking dope and generally being a gangsta. I think this is a key ingredient to Eminems massive succes that is often overlooked. His records are intensely personal. Yes, he's critized for always rapping about his mother, his ex-wife, his daughters, his addiction, etc. but a lot of people connect with those emotional records in a much deeper way than your regular gangsta record.
Bottom line: Eminem can get away with rapping about how much Dre means to him, because that's his style. I'm not sure if Snoop could pull it off. It's not his style.
Game has done a few songs like that too, like Doctor's Advocate, Like Father Like Son, Start From Scratch and most notably IMO: Lost.

i don't think Snoop could do it as good as Eminem.

so my threads wanting to know if bishop lamont got a chance at being detox and if info about a bonus dvd were deleted but this thread stays.......... ???

yeah and I don't think Snoop would do it in the first place, he probably wouldn't admit to needing Dre

I like the record as is. I know I'm the minority there. I know why people hate it though. Although I like it as a song, I don't like it in the sense of
1) It's not what I wanna hear from Dr. Dre
2) It's not good enough for the Detox hype (flavor of the month shit)
But strip all that away, it's a good record.
Eminem is bigger now than ever before; true story. Snoop Dogg is a walking brand for sure as well.
-
that would be cool...
Em n Dre did iight tho....
i wish Em woulda stayed with his relapse flow... recovery flow is just not as nice
-
The track wouldn't work as well with Snoop because Eminem is the one who has been working more intensely with Dre over the past few years and providing him with inspiration and the motivation to get on with the Detox project.
It would sound really awkward to hear Snoop rap about Dre like that come to think of it. Wouldn't suit his style at all.
-
i think it would have been cool if they set it up like this:
verse 1: snoop
verse 2: eminem
verse 3: dre
-
Speaking of Snoop, I wonder how he feels since Dre says in his verse "All I need is him (Eminem)!".
-
Speaking of Snoop, I wonder how he feels since Dre says in his verse "All I need is him (Eminem)!".
Since he was featured on Dre's first single, I'm sure he didn't take it personal. :P

I guess. But in a time where everything you say & do gets analyzed to the fullest, it's hard to just overlook that line. Even though he didn't actually write it. :P
-
We all know Snoop wouldn't do that record because he's not Dre's bitch like Eminem is. Snoop got his own hustle.

I agree that Snoop wouldnt touch that record, but from a diffrent reason. - Snoop wouldnt touch so gay track.. even tho he was dancin with gummy bears..
And i dont agree that Eminem is Dre's bitch, Eminem is a really great artist, he can make dope music himself, he doesnt need Dre at all, altho they sound great together.
-
Yeah couldnt see snoop on this song. And as much as people talk shit about em/dre making luv etc seems like he depends on em alot or feels like he owes him somethin as if signin him wasnt alot. "hes triple platinum, doing 50 a week"
-
Off topic: I wonder how Em and Snoop feel about each other, do they like each other at all?
Remember Snoop going off at Em, some years back, saying he didn't listen to Eminem's records, and mocking the Stan track, cause he had a track, which used the same Dido sample, on Blue Carpet treatment I think.
Em haven't talked or adressed Snoop at all, other than stepping in on his place for Nothing but a G thing, and Still Dre, at the concerts months back, also Snoop was missing at these.
They appeared together on Bitch Please 2, and in the movie The Wash.
However rumor does have it, they will appear together on 50's first single from the new album, Whoo Kid played 50 and Snoops verse, weeks back, and said Em was on the last one.
What do u guys think?
-
Interestin..^ who wrote dres verse on inad? (his friend?)
-
Snoop and Em like each other about as much as a wife likes her husband's ex.
-
50 has a new single out?
-
Snoop in Emo's place, Nate or Kokane on the hook, different beat, different Dre verse - yeah it might be good than
-
i don't see snoop doing a track like that. snoop and dre tracks are always bout fun, laid back shit. not dick sucking, cum drinking, crybaby ass, battyman, turn my face into that of a girl, corny ass voice em/dre shit.
i can see game doing the track though...cuz he too is always craving dre's balls on his nose.

I agree with others, in that this song/concept is not suited for Snoop. This track works well for Eminem or even Game.

snoop not going to be humping some giant test tube while Dre in it looking like he about to nut
-
The video would be dre begging snoop to eat some food and snoop saying no, then dre begins to cry for his friend wasting away
-
It would be sick if he got all artists he "PUT ON" or worked with on a remix!

I watched the INAD video last night. Eminem came off mad groupie-ish.

I think there's some jealousy there because Snoop called Dre out at one point and told him to start reaching out and helping the Westcoast and Em basically stepped into the role that Snoop once had with Dre. Em is tighter with Dre than Snoop is the last decade. Snoop has proven he doesn't need Dre, but Snoop kinda got pushed aside like Ice Cube when asking for beats for the longest time and asking Dre to produce his entire album and getting nothing. I also think that if Em called out Snoop it would cause the West unity with Aftermath to fall apart. I think it's one of those things that Eminem could go at him and tear him up from a career standpoint because here in 2011 Eminem has way more fans but it's one of those things he won't touch out of respect for Dre, Snoop's contributions to the rap game, and he's also told to lay back just like when he wasn't allowed to diss Suge on "Toy Soldiers."
I personally think that Snoop's relationship with Dre was never the same since back when Snoop stayed on Death Row and Dre left and the whole Death Row camp was dissing Dre and Snoop was gearing up the real OG 1997 "Doggumentary" (which some of those tracks became released on "Dead Man Walkin" 4 years later). And the real reason why Snoop left Death Row was because he cuoldn't get Suge to release Smokefest/Doggumentary but he didn't run to Dre, he ran to Master P when Suge sold his contract to No Limit.

Big ups to everyone that responded and to all the imitators as well. Appreciate it and just trying to spark some dialogue. Think outside the box

snoop aint jealous of mf enema or dre. or neone. he does him. the song is gay. em is gay. dre bites the hand that fed him only to suck on the dick that stay up his ass. yall mfs created that beat stealing mf. his beats aint shit. nor his fat guy in a little coat lyrics. he put the eyeliner away, used the west to seem like a man, then picked the eyeliner back up after the west put him on the map. yall hype this mf up like he is on some dj quik shit. em is jealous if nething...and you saying he wanted to bang on snoop but outa respect he didnt...wtf? this mf cant and wont bang on nething but his own...ie...jess simp, etc..cuz he knw whats up...he aint shit, and on that note...dre can cont. to do videos... sitting on set with caked on makeup and play a sperm and eject up ems ass and vice a versa. dre, em and game be on that weirdo shit...so kill the bs. and keep it onethousand.

So is snoop jealous of xzibit and 50 who dre executed 2 albums of x and has given 50 so much? Vs what has he given snoop? Yeah he gave him stuff here n there but snoop and dre started this shit. There has to be a reason dre dont execute a snoop album but he will/did 50 or a x album or give em anything he ask for.
-
to the real hiphop fans, dre needs snoop as much as snoop needs dre....dont get it twisted.
for awhile there, i was getting tired of hearing eminem and dre together all the time, without snoop...
dre and snoop make better songs together but dre and eminem make more money together
-
Snoop doesn't WANT Dre to produce his whole album. Matter of fact he's gotten mad in interviews when he's asked about a Dre track. Read the dubcc interview, the nigga says it plain and clear.

the realtionship you're talking about is called record deal. Dre and Em are both under Jimmy's wings... and music industry is all about business... not friendship.
That's why Dre was working with Em in the first place... business thing.

dre is wack right now, Kush was dope because someone else laced a dope beat and Snoop and Dre work well together, they have never both been involved in a track that wasn't dope
I see Snoop on 1-2 tracks MAX on detox, EM on like 4-5
-
Bottomline W/O Hate "I Need A Doctor" by anyone else besides Eminem would be Homosexual.
No need to explain why... just truth.

Only in a hip hop context. This shit would be perfectly normal in any other genre.

INAD Fits perfectly well with Em & Dre.....If Dre & Snoop's gon do anything like that, It will be reminiscing about the Good 'ol days...
Cos the truth is....Snoop have been on his own hustle for over a decade without Dre and i think he did well not allowing the lack of Dre's production or attention affect his career...That's a big plus for me (He would have been slowed down a lot or faded away).
As someone said earlier.....Dre & Snoop makes feel good music together Dre & Em makes personal, Emotional music.... Nothing wrong with both, I enjoy either collaboration but Dre & Snoop track always have that special feel, forget the popular singles and bump "Just Dippin" again 8)
-
lol@ em could kill snoop career, u realize dat snoop been in the game for 20 yrs now? em fan base is not snoop fan base! obviously snoop had to be doing something good to be still relevant in the rap game..
-

He couldn't "kill Snoop's" career, but he can obviously out-rap him. Even today when Eminem is rapping about basically nothing with a wack flow, he could still rap circles around Snoop Dogg lol.
But Eminem's fan base is twice as big as Snoop's. Em's been in rap half as long and has sold more then twice as many records & is the highest selling artist of all time, c'mon son.
-
em selling more records than snoop does not prove shit, who sell more records than em in the rap game anyway? snoop style of rapping cannot be duplicated and thats why he is still one of the best rappers out there, not here to argue about who is better! em is a controversial rapper and to make it worst he is white rapper! that's like seeing a white dude dunkin from the free throw line!
-
Snoops been wack as fuck for years I don't even bother downloading his albums anymore

LOL, it obviously does. Whoever sells more records has the bigger fan base. It's unquestionable.
But I can tell you're clueless, "he is still one of the best rappers out there". Snoop hasn't been good in almost two decades lol.

That's not true, IMO. He's had a ton of great songs...
