MC Sccit of supergroup L.A.M.B asked me to do the record cover for their upcoming album: Violence of tha Lambz.
I asked him what his budget was and what he was looking for.
His only requirements was that it would be something memorable, violent and surreal.
After some back and forth with ideas that didn't really work this is what the cover will look like.

It might have blown his budget but in my opinion he couldn't have gotten a better bang for his buck (no homo).
Hope you all like it and will go cop the album when it drops.
Peace from Dayton.

Incredible :o
-
lmao. it kinda works.
-
Mind blowing.
-
not really feeling it, need something more cut throat like a lamb eating babies or some shit, to kinda fit LAMB horrocore style
-

I think you fail to see the violent symbolism and subtle brutality in the image.
This is sophisticated horrorcore design blood.
Perhaps hard to see for someone with a Peanut cartoon as their avatar.
Hope you will still cop the album when it drops.

hahha what the fuck?

The only problem is horrorcore rap and sophistication don't go hand in hand, you don't want to alienate potential fans.
You are skilled though.

I think that kind of narrow minded mentality is what limits creativity and creative expression.
But you might be right maybe the world ain't ready for an avante garde horrorcore rap album cover design (A.G.H.R.A.C.D) and the genius of it will pass them by.
Considering potential fans is the creative equivalent of political correctness.
Thank you for the compliment, I appreciated that.

No problem, and don't let that observation mislead you about my intentions. I am a life long fan of horror, whether in film, music, physical art, and literature.
The possibilities horrorcore rap has in front of it as a genre leaves so many possibilities. Maybe one day there will be an artist that touches on themes of supernatural or existential horror in a manner that hasn't been seen before. LAMB, hasn't strayed far from the typical slash and kill lane that dominates a lot of the genre. It was simply my observation that the type of music they create doesn't call for anything too high concept in the way of cover art, as their type of music (that they've presented so far) will appeal to a niche community that doesn't typically go too far outside the box.
-
Not really feeling it as far as the "Violence of the Lambs" theme, but it's pretty dope in its own respect. You've definitely got creative skill.
-
can we at least see the one with a lamb eating babies?

To be honest I have not listened to a full song of L.A.M.B's music before so I have no idea what they are all about. (I am neither joking or lying here).
Perhaps I should have listened to some tracks before preparing the cover.
So you might be quite right that there is a mismatch between the A.G.H.R.A.C.D and the musical standard.
I could never really relate to horror in movies or music myself, I am more of a romantic type of fellow.
Whitney Houston and Frederic Chopin does it for me. And a movie with Julia Roberts is my idea of a good time.
Since a few people feel this cover does not fit the music perhaps I should post some of the other drafts I prepared?
That way you can see which one you like the best.

Muhfukka: I never made a cover of a lamb eating a baby.

actually, there are some occult, cultivated horror themed tracks on the way
i appreciate the artistic sophistication that went into this cover, i just think the lamb looks like a fag

Quadruple Platinum already

did u see the baby bbq?

no

Here is the Lambchops version.
It needs some more text on the sticker.
.
-
A variation of the first cover.
Not as good but still dope.

Skull cover that NIK mentioned:
variation of the same:

that may just be the one

looks more like a pork chop to me but it definitely fits the horrorcore theme better but in a subtle way

Not as good but still dope.
Both versions of the art pop design are gay as hell^^
But...
This would look cool with a variation on the 'art pop' coloured shapes in the top 2, and bottom left corners
Or a pentagram 'watermark' over the face
-
Skull cover that NIK mentioned:
This concept would work better if the heads were of similar size and the eyes of both lined up, probably with the transparent skull on top (or the Sheep being transparent over a solid skull)
-
(http://i44.tinypic.com/2csb77p.jpg)
the lamb in a suit is classy..thats part of why i liked the bbq baby one so much. signature shit
-
i dont know how many times i need to tell you this but that is a sheep not a lamb
-
(http://i44.tinypic.com/2csb77p.jpg)

Those 2 are the best ones easily. both of them shits is iconic. if LAMB blew up, I can see both of those covers being copied over and over again like Nas' Illmatic.
personally, of the two, id go with the bottom one.
-
id go with the lamb with blood on its face or the lamb chop one. both are horror themed but not too trashy over the top juggalo status. ii would stay away from anything hannibal lecter themed thats played out
-

i agree 2 a certain extent about the juggalo shit and not goin over the top, but the hannibal shit does go with the "violence of tha lambz" theme tho
-
can we please see the fuckin lamb cooking a baby haha
-
can we please see the fuckin lamb cooking a baby haha
homie heinz asked me not to, u guna have 2 get at him for that 1
-
the lamb chop one is coming out for sure as an EP with me and nik
i still think the black lamb head one is best.
-
i dont know how many times i need to tell you this but that is a sheep not a lamb
Couldn't afford a lamb model so had to settle for a sheep.
-
See Heinz now that's the shit I'm talking about that looks dope
-
Heinz works magic.
I think all are good enough.
A little suggestion.
A Lamb/sheep upclose sitting at an expensive dinner table in a suit staring right at you.
With a plate in front of him.
You can not make out what meat it is, but it is bloodied.
with this atmosphere

it's a question of logic really, n.w.a.'s & b.o.b.'s graphic designers just didn't pay enough attention. the period means the letter is an initial, if there's a need for the first, there's a need for the last one, at least that's how i see it.

naah, i'm pretty sure they leave the last period out by choice- it just looks cleaner....i think technically, it can be used both ways. theres no ruling on whether it's okay to omit the final period or not.. the periods are simply used to separate the letters. theres really no official need for a separation after the last letter, although it is the more common way to use acronyms.
-
It defies visual logic to place a dot at the end.
Look at the l.a.m.b logo and wou will see that the three dots between the letters creates a harmony, putting a dot at the end would ruin the balance.
More covers to come.

Hope you all like it and will go cop the album when it drops.
Peace from Dayton.

Pretty sick Hienz...good work... I like how it seems as if there is some deeper, subliminal meaning behind the cover art. Would like to hear more about the concept.

I hate to tell people what to see but perhaps the composition needs some clarification since some are ignorant enough to call it gay and art pop (wtf is that?).
In the head there is a triangular shape pointing upwards to a black sphere above it. It is a symbol for masculinity/aggressiveness and the white color which is normally associated with purity takes the chinese role of the color representing grief at funerals. The strong black sphere is the higher soul being evil.
Together they symbolize aggressive murderous intent that inflicts grief and suffering.
In the lower part of the body there is a yellow geometric form.
Yellow represents caution and pervertion. To signify the perverted sexual nature of his lower self, underlined by a small black sphere on the left hand side (evil).
Violent psychopathic debauchery in effect.
The blue circle that holds the torso and the heart symbolize coldness.
The spirit is dead and have no empathy/sympathy left, underlining his psycho/sociopathic nature.
The large white triangle upside down represents the external world of his victims.
Again the white of grief and the triangle is feminine. The emotions and sufferings he deflicts.
Pointing to a red sphere signifying bloodshed and danger/fear as a foundation.
The purple/blue on the right means the path of calculated deception.
That's in short what my intentions with the composition was.
It is the best cover in this thread by far as it works on the sub-conscious mind in a subtle and clever way.
Unlike the other stuff that is just straightforward, unimaginative and quite dull.
.

That lamb chop one is so ill. Id make that a special edition cover

Unlike the other stuff that is just straightforward, unimaginative and quite dull.
.
Any of these covers wil sure catch your attention when you see them on a poster or on a cd-cover.
Whether they know of the group or not.
But Heinz, may I ask you about the symbols you use.
Do you know any good read that deals with symbols and the effects on the subconscious.
I know there are quite a few around.
But do you know any that has these conditions:
- One with a more scientific approach rather then conspiratory.
- Does not contain references to black magic (because symbols are often used.) For me that is forbidden knowledge.

Thank you Ghostdog.
It ain't like I don't cater to people with a proper budget.
Plenty of big name clients in my portfolio at my blog.
I just do the doodles here for sparetime amusement.

Aladin:
Not aware of one single book on the subject you are looking for. Usually it is spread out with other topics in more obscure litterature, not very scientific.
Jung, Steiner, Kandinsky all had interesting things to say about it.
Color studies are probably the more scientific studies that have been done compared to geometric shapes and symbols.
"Know magic, shun magic".

Thank you I will look them up.
"Know magic, shun magic". A beautiful phrase.
But I am afraid that when I read that, I will be seduced 2 practice some.
And with that blacken my soul.
So I prefer 2 stay away from it.

Daz got at Hienz for a cover? That would be legendary if L.A.M.B. was the impetus for Hienz and Daz linking up

Knew that ballet lamb was really a fag
-
The Ballet Lamb is perhaps controversial but not a "fag".
Striking an impressive bodily pose mid-air doesn't make him a homosexual.
By that logic Spiderman is a "fag", and Tupac as well if you really want to go there.
If you don't want that cover I am sure Kanye would kill for it.
.

Magick should be shunned. It's opposite, positive thought/intention, should be practiced through meditation/thoughts/action/prayer etc.
