Brandon Jennings, the PG who passed up college to play in Italy said Rubio is all hype, and pointed to a game where he outplayed him in Europe?

It's kind of funny that Jennings says this, although it is a little childish. I've been thinking that Rubio is overrated for a while, I think he might be a decent player and borderline starter, but I think he is overrated at this point. The thing almost everybody gives him credit for is his play during the Olympics, but I think Patty Mills' performance was way better for Australia. I think scouts are getting caught up in measurables and potential, but I think Rubio will go down as a bust.

I don't think Rubio will be that good but damn Jennings sounds like a bitch.
-
we'll see. international ball is different than NBA ball.
-
Jennings deserves to be slapped, but I'm sure Rubio won't excel in the NBA and go back to Europe in a couple years. Navarro is probably a better overall player, and you saw how that went.

^^But then u got calderon and look how thats goin...Same with Rudy

I don't mind Jennings making a competition out of it and respect some of his points, but he came off kind of bitter and ignorant. It's not like Jennings lit the EuroLeague on fire or anything. As for the style of play, I don't expect the NBA players to be so careless with the ball around Rubio and I expect the shot-blockers to be better at stopping his drives. He is great at getting out in transition and finishing, so maybe he could be a special player like he is labeled as. For the record, I think Johnny Flynn will be the best PG of the draft this year.

he's going to have to bulk up with some muscle though, that skinny shit ain't gonna cut it in the nba for a pG.

i really think that Calderon is going to have a big year this 2010 season.

Both are extremely overrated, and i have no fucking doubts about it, since i've seen them both playing a lot of times. Both of them don't have a decent jumper, they can't shoot 3's to save their lifes, they are too playground and they have a low basketball IQ. That said, Jennings should better shut the fuck up, since he failed big here in Italy.

Ok, thanks for the input man. I've seen a lot of rumors that the Warriors are interested in Jennings but it seems like a strange fit. If they plan to keep Monta Ellis on the team, they are going to need a bigger guard who can play a little bit of defense. If they got a smaller guard, he would need a 3 point shot if he wanted to play in Nelson's system. I think the Warriors are going to shake things up and make a lot of moves this offseason because they are invested too heavily in a roster that was really bad this season. As for Jennings and Rubio, they are young and can improve, so do you see either one having a better career or are they both busts?

Rubio won't be shit in the NBA, quote that.

They are no Rose, Paul, Williams... not even close. They don't defend, they don't have range, they can't shoot 3's to save their lifes, they are still immature and with a low basketball IQ. They should play 4 years in a University like Duke, North Carolina, etc.. They are spectacular, no doubt. But you don't win rings with those Skip-to-my-lou type of players, imho. I'd rather keep Shannon Brown over them. At least dude can defend and shoot 3's.

Both Rubio and Jennings will be in Sportscenter's top play often.. but that doesn't make you win games.
-
Rubio will surprise you guys. mark my words. the guy got pg skills. He's too young for joining the NBA at this moment though, but he is the future no doubt
-
god i hope kings take flynn
-
isnt RUBIO 18?
I thought 19 was the youngest age for the NBA ???
-
I think the rule is you have to be 1 year removed from high school, so the actual ages can vary. It seems like Rubio and his people don't want him to go to Memphis at No. 2, maybe it will work. I'd be worried about taking him or Jennings because they both need to bulk up and make improvments and I don't know enough about their work ethic. Evans has had mixed reviews and Curry is still working on playing the point. I'd say the best PG in the draft immediately is Flynn.
