He was on big boy's neighborhood. It's his 42nd birthday and he was hyped for detox. He said he's putting 12-13 songs on the album and he's 18 tracks in. He also noted that the intro is called "Intervention". He also said everyone who he worked with in the past is going to be on the album (we'll see about that). He also has this new artist on the album who i never heard of (and not bishop lamont)....forgot the name. The album will be out sometime in 2007, not neccessarily september.
-
this ain't forget the new artist! LOL damn. intervention LOl tiiiiight...the fact that he said everyone he's worked with in the past is cool, cause though he couldn't possibly cover all the bases, the fact that he made such a sweeping statement probably means he's worked with a grip of people that he worked on the first two records with....NICE thanks man props =T
-
He say anything about Cuban Linx 2?
-
SO WE WILL SEE GAME ON DETOX AFTER ALL....................
-

he didn't mention it

SO WE WILL SEE GAME ON DETOX AFTER ALL....................
yeah if he's working with hittman and using words like 'everybody' then given how recently game is in dre fans consciousness...yeah it should be going down. I think his hometown would be kinda pissed if he didn't put Game on the album and as global as you get you always care about your old hood's opinion of you.
geffen IS just interscope's sister company; the whole thing might have been a stunt.

Finally, a detox thread worthy of creating. Props.

Yeah Bishop even said Dre is gonna be on the turntables again, I can't wait to hear that...I'd like to hear Quik & Dre do a beat & a song together before they retire, that would be some wild shit... 8)

I think Put it on me was cool, but a non ho-song, co produced quik/dre with scratching would be really dope.

Good to hear Dre again, but remember the interview 2 years ago when he became 40? He said yeah late 2006 for sure!!
Dr. Dre Speaks To Big Boy's Neighborhood - February 23, 2005 By : Rud
Dr. Dre dropped in on Big Boy's Neighbourhood show on Power 106 as he celebrated his birthday earlier this week and gave spoke on Detox, The Game's success, getting to work with Busta and he also let us know he was given a CD by Bishop Lamont of his material, he likes it and is setting up a meeting between the two! Watch this space on that, until then check out the interview we conducted with Bishop Lamont in October of last year! Click here to listen to the interview, thanks to E. J. Rizo for the MP3!

So, I waited way to long for this album, I gave almost my hopes up for this album.
But hopefully I'm wrong and it's really coming out this year.

wait...didn't documentary drop in jan 05? 50 and game were already beefing by fucking february? wtf?

^Exactly...just the both of them having fun in the studio & trading verses & shit, it doesn't have to be on a Kurupt "Fuck a bitch, don't tease bitch, strip tease bitch, eat a bowl of these bitch"-type vibe...I'd also like to hear Warren G & Dre together again...

I wish dre would produce a non ho warren g song, that'd be dope. game don't wait remix was cool but a)it's not just warren b)warren still rapping about sex. He doesn't even rap about sex that much normally, don't know why he has to talk about his dick soon as his brother steps in the room.

well the link you gave in reference to dre's 40th birthday linked to nothing about dre's birthday but actually took me straight to a 50 cent interview dissing Game in like february 05 unless I'm mistaken.

It' better be good

Finally some actuall news. I think Detox is finally coming.
So are you going to change your name back? :D
-
12 or 13 songs ? That better be flawless music... Still think it'll never drop though
-
I've thought about the game/50 thing alot and what i've come up with is this:
Though he should have listened to Dre when dre told him to stop dissing....Game listened to the one higher authority on the matter: the hip hop community. Game saw the whackness that 50 was about to bring down upon the masses with the massacre and saw what 50 was about to start doing to hip hop: watering it down and he knew he had an obligation to the hip hop community to speak against it. he paid the price, but I respect that shit.

12 or 13 songs, yet he's worked with every1 he worked with in the past? ???
anyways cool to hear it from him. that "worked with every1 from my past" got my hopes up that knoc-turn'al may be on detox after all.
-
I bet that The Game will be hella sad if he can't feature on Dre's Detox.

Ice T does the intro on King t's record and that record's very dre stamped but yeah it ain't the same. -T
-
Ice T is on that West Coast Allstars track.
-----------------------------------------------------
Seeing as this is considering Detox I'm going to be pessimistic and say I'll believe he was on the show when I hear it (it would make sense though seeing as he's been on the same show around the time of his birthday before).

For those that remember my old posts when I was around them....their beef started like August or September of 2004...possibly before then. Game and 50 just faked it hard when the album came out...but LMAO, Phat Rat told me in Sept 04 that he was gonna diss G-Unit hard.

lol. it's the most popular station in California. Not the mention the host of the show has won the "Radio Personality of The Year" award many years and has many movie roles and/or cameos. He's also the 'host' of Death Row's "Chronic 2000" album.
the interview will be up soon, just check his website in a few days..

I'm not happy about the 12-13 tracks thing. We need more tracks than that, we've been waiting for 7-8 fucking years now. What pisses me off is that they've recorded literally hundreds of tracks for this thing. He should just release them anyway, tell everyone "alright these weren't good enough for the album" so that way he doesn't get his ego hurt if someone says the beat isn't flawless, and then everyone will be happy. A Dre "Lost Tapes" sort of thing would still go platinum.

you speak truth, but dre's concern is doing the art he wants and not going platinum. going platinum is nothing to dre.

Dre's birfday is not the 16th, it's the 18 tnf.

will Snoop be on the album??

i thought that all the non-detox songs were given to the artists to have on their album.
isn't that why detox has been so delayed?
-

Am i the only one with less than high expectations for this ?
-
if this album flops... i dunno what ill do lol
-
fuck it, since there ain't no audio
-
Dre was definitely on Power at about 8/9am Pacific time on 2/16. Big Boy even asked him what he was doing for his b-day and Dre just responded by saying he's low-key and didn't want to say what he was going to do.......Big Boy also asked Dre for Fatherhood advice (since Big Boys having his first child) but dre just said as long as you ain't having a girl your good. He also said that all newborn girls should come with a shotgun..lol.....I would have thought they would have posted the interview by now on power106.com or radiobigboy.com.

wait...didn't documentary drop in jan 05? 50 and game were already beefing by fucking february? wtf?
damn
-T
They were planning on kicking Game out of G-Unit before The Documentary dropped. They just kept the beef quiet and acted like they were behind The Documentary to make it a success for Aftermath and Interscope. Once it dropped and all the videos were shot, they stopped hiding their feelings about Game.

He said he is never retiring 8)
12-13 songs for the album, hopefully the ones he dont put on there make their way to us eventually.
He want everyone he ever worked with on the record? Sounds dope too bad it wont count Eazy, hope Ren and Cube gets to spit a verse each
He was going to put Imagine on Detox, that song was alright but if thats what standards he puttin on Detox that dont sound too good :(
No mention of Eve's album :)

EXACTLY, he's dope for what he's dope for. You don't have to be the dopest rhymer to put together dope records, which he does. Did you see the post in which I detailed my friends and I going to see the Game in anaheim and getting kicked out of the parking lot for blunts and hennessey in the parking lot?

yeah look at any producer from Rick Ruben, to Rick Rock, to Quincy Jones: there's no reason to stop producing. Just cause you don't drop your own vocals don't mean you can't contribute always. Even george clinton produced the chili peppers in the 80's or 90's. He should influence music he finds worth influencing for as long as he can.
I hope Kurupt is included in that everybody list. Man, I really really hope Kurupt and Game are on detox.
I think Imagine is a great song and a great concept for a song, I could go for a whole album of stuff that chill, wise, and melodic definitely.
-T
-
Even the "Dre 2001" album didn't get pushed back as much as this record.
-
Even the "Dre 2001" album didn't get pushed back as much as this record.
Yeah but Dre didn't have as many artists as he does now.
-
dre has street cred. he could release an album of fart noises and cats are still gonna cop it
-
someone reup...
-
If this Slim Mobster is the new protegé, say byebye to the Bishop. :-*
Just like Hittman sent Eminem packing right?
Eminem was already established at the time 2001 dropped. He had a very succesful album out and had his own hype. Bishop Lamont has no album out and probably won't have one out before Detox drops. Besides, he won't get the hype Eminem had even if he does get one released. He is just another black rapper, from the masses' perspective. Eminem was white, extremely controversial, appealed to the pop market and was highly respected as an MC too. There's no chance Bishop Lamont will eclipse that.
So, if Bishop can not live of a status he has build up before Detox, and Dre uses that album to focus on Slim Mobster, Bishop will play second fiddle and will fade into (relative) obscurity.
Do not think I make statements out of the blue.
As for the smiley, I used it as a slight taunt to the people that are (or were) certain Lamont was to be the big Aftermath banana and the main man on Detox.
I repeat, I do not say things without reason.

since when can dre not use more than one new rapper to let shine on his album.....as long as they up to competing with proven cats

^ If Dre wants to have 12-13 tracks, work with everyone he's worked with in the past AND wants to use Detox to promote both himself and Slim Mobster, he's juggling an uncomfortably large number of balls allready. He might just let a ball called Bishop Lamont slip.
Notice that I'm not saying that this is how it's going to play out but I would like you to be realistic about this matter.
By the way, if you don't agree with me or are absolutely certain Bishop Lamont will be very important, that is no reason to be taking karma points away from me. I noticed I've lost 2 points with 2 posts so I can not get out of my mind a certain suspicion of childish behaviour among my fellow posters here.
Grow up, we'll see how things will turn out. I only gave my view on the matter.

for one thing, I also feel people should not act like I say shit without thinking about it and for another thing I just propped you and never dissed you.
anyway, based on what it sounds like Dre and Bishop have already recorded a gang of stuff which is why Bishop's been on the interview circuit/about to drop mixtapes to promote the work that him and dre have already done that they ar about to begin marketing. in the meantime, dre is producing new shit with slim mobster.
perhaps Slimmob will be to detox what Knocturnal was to 2001, just like Bishiop will be to detox what hittman was to 2001.

grow up?? the fuck? if that shit was directed at me, then you wrong homeboy cuz i aint dissed or my post was not directed at you either...i respect your opinion...i was speaking in general.....and i agree, if dre thinks bishop aint the nigga to hold down detox, he will let him pass, dre aint one who soft in situations which involve himself....personally i see it like tanjibility just said....about one of them being the knockturnal of this record.....however to me, its gon be like there will be 2-3 knocturnals on the records....i personally dont beleive bishop will be all over detox....not this new cat....but i dont think anyone will be....i don't think he'll let a new nigga be all over his record and risk that nigga too much hate that he never drops....like hittman....
bishop will probably be on quite a few tracks ofcourse but i doubt he'll be on 7-8 tracks or someshit like that....same with this next nigga....i doubt he will be all over the album too......dre probably thinkin of 12-13 tracks right now because he wants it to be perfect.....like the first half of 2001 was....that 1st 10-11 tracks was probably the greatest or one of the greatest produced 10-11 in a row i heard all that made me think dayum...but then again.....since dre takes all these years to release an album, i doubt it will be any less than 14 tracks....
peace

dam man who is this new cat? any one got any info on him? Is he signed to Aftermath?
-
I'm sorry if I made you think I was attacking you specifically. I said 'grow up' to whoever it was that was dissing me. I wouldn't be surprised if it was someone who doesn't even post in this thread, but merely reads it.
Oh and thank you for the props.
