I wanted to use a lecture from a speaker to go over the chorus/hook of a song. As long as I never sell or make money off the song, and just use it for personal use, myspace/youtube/soundclick, then can I really ever be sued for any real money? Hypothetically?

shouldn't have probs as long as u don't sell it and credit where u got it from visibly

Yup, and in actuality, if the lecture was given in public domain (ie. College, High School, Political rally, etc), you could even sell the track without worries of copyright infringement (assuming you credit your source). Especially if the lecture itself was never copyrighted.... Also, if you obtained the lecture from youtube/myspace/soundclick, etc you may be able to obtain permission for it's use thru that medium, without having to pay fees..... check into it pimp...
