Title: "No self-respecting male athlete should wear purple"

Radical Revisions To This Years NBA Uniforms. (http://www.nba.com/features/gq_nov06_uniforms.htm)

The best NBA uniform news for the 2006–07 season? The coolest NBA getup ever — Golden State's late-'60s "The City" design—is back in circulation. Worn by the Warriors from the '66-'67 season through '70-'71, it's still as smooth as one of Rick Barry's underhanded free throws. Meanwhile, no self-respecting male athlete should wear purple, and the NBA has finally gotten the memo, as the Bucks replace the team's purplecentric color scheme with a vastly superior green-andred design. And up in Toronto, the Raptors junked their purple alternate uni, and their white home uni is now trimmed in red. (Lakers and Suns, we're still waiting.) Elsewhere, the Celtics added a little shamrock to the back of their jersey, and there are lots of new alternate road uniforms, ranging from sharp (blue unis for the Bobcats) to so-so (the Nets in solid red). Then there are the Washington Wizards, who are pairing a gold jersey with black shorts — a move fraught with major "Didn't your mama teach you how to dress?" potential. — PAUL LUKAS

I understand saying that about the Suns, saying THEY need to change their uniform colors, jocking the Lakers P&G and all, but our shit is VINTAGE. It should NEVER be changed. Besides, it's not purple, it's forum blue... 8)

LMAO, you've got to be kidding me, why do you think?...Lakers have worn purple since forever. Suns adopted the purple & orange (which is very close to the world-famous purple & gold) wayyy after.

Im glad the rap changed that ugly jersey they had going.  The new ones look much better...And they are going with the claw symbol over the ball instead of that ugly dino symbol, that looks much better now too.  Im like the new colour scheme of red, silver, white and black...shit looks clean!

Jack Kent Cooke (our last owner, which you also probably didn't know) denied that our jersey color was purple when they first came out with it, labeling it "forum blue" and even directing Chick to always call it "forum blue"...LOL@Jake, the Laker fan... :-X

if you were a fan of LA sports you might want to know WHY he called it FORUM blue

LA Rams old colors :
white and blue
(http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0006ZQYJ0.01-A2Q41P19X5JJI._SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg)
then later
blue and gold
(http://www.vintagesportsshoppe.com/ra51.jpg)

the LA Dodgers' colors:
white and blue
(http://www.vintagesportsshoppe.com/la36.jpg)

the LA lakers' old colors:
white and blue
(http://www.batsweb.org/Sport/Basket/Nba/Immagini/50mikan.jpg)
then later purple and gold ( SIMILAR to the LA RAMS)

sports back in the day was always UNIFORM  as you see all of the LA teams wore Blue and white, so when the new colors were introduced they were introduced as 'forum' blue and gold to keep this going, today fans don't give a fuck if the teams are in uniform so that's why it's called purple and gold now

Your definition of a fan is a lil off. First of all, you can call it what you want - the color is PURPLE. I have a Wilt Chamberlain jersey and I'll slap the hell out of anybody who tells me that shiet is blue. Second, a fan is a fan regardless of how much you want to sit here and knit-pick every word they say. You're not some measuring stick for a fans status. Get over it.

You're right about that. Example: I like the Dallas Mavericks, but I'm a Lakers fan. So yes, there is a difference. But why do you always feel it's your place to decide who is which? Learn to keep your mouth closed sometimes buddy.
