Check it out right here:
http://philaflava.blogspot.com/2010/08/death-row-demos-rough-mixes.html
This is a real gem. Here's the tracklist, and an explanation of what I think each song is:
1. Puffin On Blunts - Has a different intro by Dr. Dre, and no outro.
2. What's My Name - Seems like an alternate/demo version. Beat is different in some ways. Lyrics seem the same for the most part. The beat is different from both the LP version and remix version, and is sick in its own right. This version has a really cool instrumental ride out with plenty of talk-box work.
3. Gin & Juice - This seems to be the demo version of Gin & Juice. No belching on the intro. Lyrics and beat are the same BUT this version has an ill 90 second instrumental ride out with some cool switch-ups in the beat.
4. Doggystyle - this is the same version of Doggystyle that we've all heard. I get the feeling that the only version of the track ever recorded was this demo-sounding version?
5. Mom's Are Crying - Alternate version of Nigga Named Dave. Has long horror-sounding intro, then Nigga Named Dave comes in - but its the version of the song with no baseline. The version that was floating around the internet in low quality for years. Poor Young Dave, the song wideawake released has a SICK baseline that is mixed way to loud. Almost makes me think that WA threw that baseline in their? This version with no baseline has a spooky minimalism to it and sounds cool, makes me think WA threw that dope baseline on there... but maybe this is the demo version.
6. What's My Name 2 - Another demo/alternate version of What's My Name. Again, different from the LP version, and very cool in its own right.
7. G Thang Jam - female remix for Ain't Nothin But a G Thang. I cannot tell who the female singer is, but Dr. Dre talks dirty to her in the middle of the track. The lyrics are strange in places. Why does she keep singing 'Sexual Harrassment' on the chorus?? But anyway - the beat is a really cool remix of the classic G Thang beat we all love.
8. Niggaz Don't Give A Fuck 1 - this is the remix we all have heard, but its clearer than the one I had before, and has an outro by Dr. Dre
9. Niggaz Don't Give a Fuck 2 - this is the version that was on the Poetic Justice Soundtrack.
So yea, awesome stuff. Major props to the T.R.O.Y. Blog for leaking this.
-
props man,,ill check it out
-
Definitely worth the listen.. I was about to post this.
Don't sleep on this, cool to hear Nate Dogg sing on Gin and Juice.
-
Im so looking foirward to Nigga Named Dave w/o that incredibly annoying bassline, props!
-
k+
-
Thanks for posting, always down to hear DR tracks like this.
-
Definitely worth the listen.
Don't sleep on this, cool to hear Nate Dogg sing on Gin and Juice.
-
props homie, will download and drop thoughts later
-
This is amazing. That G Thang mix is smooth. Could it be Nancy FLetcher on there? Does not sound like Jewell or Michel'le.
-
looks like its worth a download
-
good looks on this, never heard about it leaking 8)
-
Definitely worth the listen.
Don't sleep on this, cool to hear Nate Dogg sing on Gin and Juice.
To me this is NOT Nate Dogg. Props for sharing that tape with us.
-
that G Thang Jam is actually called Sexual Harassment. I saw it on the bankruptcy document. i don't know who the singer is
-
Mad Props to the poster and to that blog! This is very dope. Sexual Harrassment is sick, and its cool to hear the outro on Whats My Name.
-
that G Thang Jam is actually called Sexual Harassment. I saw it on the bankruptcy document. i don't know who the singer is
Alright. Either way LMAO at Dr. Dre making sex sound effects on the outro of the song.
-
Is that L.V. on Niggaz Dont Give A Fuck (Version 1) ?
-
This is a real gem.
unexpected treat.
-
damn G Thang Jam is dope as fuck! is that Nate dogg on there?
and yeah this version of Poor Young Dave is much better than the WA version.
-
Fucc me!!!! Crazy mad props for the drop. Downloading as I type!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
thanx for the info! niggas dont give a fuck remix 1 is tha shit!!!!!!!!!!!
-
thanks a lot!
nice to see that there's a better quality version of Niggaz don't give a fuck remix
-
goddammm!!!!!! Thanks a LOT for posting this!!!!!
Moms Are Crying is the shit 8)
-
Props, i didnt even notice this shit!
Im lovin the Remix to "Niggaz Dont Give A Fuck" (its uncensored too).... maybe this version was a cut for the Chronic or something, it seems like it would fit
I also liked the outro on "Whats My Name"! "Moms Are Crying" is cool too, i dont think W/A fucked with "Poor Young Dave". The intro sounds like the begining of a movie.
-
I can't DL this for some reason...can anyone rapidshare it???
This looks unreallll
-
niigaz dont give remix is so so so dope, better than the og in my opinion, so glad it leaked better quality, anyone prefer this over the og? did dre produce this or a eastcoast producer?
g thang jam was a bit random lol
-
Never heard that remix for Niggaz Dont Give A Fuck...uses two Bobby Womack tracks sampled by 50 and King T.
-
damn man amazing find, this guy as a real nice blog too, but i just thought he was all east coast. thank you so much for sharing, best labor day ive had ina while! man i forgot the one guys name that does the remastering on here but he needs to maybe do a lil work to these
-
Dope!
The really cool thing is you kinda know a bit more about how they must have been put stuff together and shit by listening...
Doggystyle and the Chronic are albums where I'd love to hear exactly how everything was made
Also, that guitar solo on the G Thang track is ill... shame Dre doesn't do stuff like that anymore, like a random dope-ass guitar solo on a Hip-Hop track
-
can anyone make this a .zip folder please?
-
can anyone make this a .zip folder please?
you can install winrar

I'd like to know the story behind this tape too. The guy from the TROY blog claims he got it from a tape trader... the tape sounds like it was recorded during the doggystyle sessions. At first I wanted to guess that it was a very early version of Doggystyle - but then why would it have Puffin On Blunts and G Thang Jam? My guess is that someone threw together everything rare they had around early 93, pressed up a bunch of tapes, and started selling them. I have a feeling that the low quality version of Doggystyle (the song) that was floating around for so many years was from this tape, because it sounds so similar. that's really the best guess that I have.
From what i understand there's a ton of unreleased death row material from the 91-93 period - and that material is virtually unleaked. Unlike the 94-97 material - a ton of which has leaked.
It would be really cool if Wide Awake would just set up an online store and put all of this shit out there... but unfortunately they've been really stingy in terms of releasing material that is actually unleaked...
-
Is it just me, or does Nigga Named Dave / Poor Young Dave sample the drums from schooly d's "PSK (what does it mean)"?
-
You found a real gem here, props for posting

good points man! this was an amazing leak, niggaz don't give a fuck remix is def. my favorite from this tape and it also is prolly the one thats in the best quality too! its weird one what songs were included from this, i wish i knew more about who the trader was, i guaranteed theres tapes like this sitting around in someones basement collecting dust that contain alot more unreleased shit including ho hopper and tha next episode.

-

they haven't stopped me from comin back for as long as DUBCC has been around, suckaz.. ;D
-
dope shit, thanks for sharing
and I'm not surprised TROY were the ones to drop this first, those guys have mad connections when it comes to really rare stuff.Off the top of my head, regarding Dre, there is a guy who posted in one of the blog posts that claimed (and IMO he was not full of shit) that he was present at the recording sessions for 2001 and has loads of CDs that he recorded during the sessions...imagine the dope shit that has remained unheard that he's sitting on
they also know a guy who has Last Emperor's aftermath demo tape but as far as I could gather he's not the type to share it
-

Man, it totally sounds like Nate
Regardless, it is a hot ass song
-
Hopefully will leak...anyone have any info on it?
-
i know the history of these leaked trax.
Snoop leaked these songs. he passed around a couple of bootleg-tapes with "Doggystyle"-sessions, to some friends in Long Beach when he was young, and he got himself into some trouble because of it. Dre and Suge got mad. snoop confirmed this in an interview wit Whoo Kid a year ago...
the tracks ended up in a few moms-n-pops, and that is definitely the source..
now, 18 years later. here you have the songs.. a guy basically had that bootleg-tape with the DR-songs, and he sold it to that dealer..
-
Got a link for that interview mate? Sounds interesting :)
-
ima see if i can find that there for u.. lemme check my shit. it's on audio i think...
-
Props dude appreciate that.

Check it out right here:
