anybody heard of a program that lets you record what comes out of your speakers? like if u listen to something on hiphopdx and u cant dl it, u can use the program to record your mp3 when its playing.
anybody know what im talking about??

download something simple and easy to get like cool edit 2.0. (but you can use any audio recording program you have and/or like)
then click the volume control in the system tray
then go to
option>
properties>
audio input>
then hit ok
when the box pops up and you are ready to record with whatever program you choose. select "stereo mix" in this window. once you hit record the volume will be WAY to loud. Go back and open up the regular volume control and plug in some headphones or something. Look at your DB levels while its reocrding and adjust the volume accordingly so its hovering around full but NOT red lining.
quality isnt always GREAT. obviously. but it works. if u got any other questions or cant get it to work just reply again
