DJ-Age Unites The West On "West Coast Connectz" Volume 3 - November 22, 2008 By : Rud

It's been a few months since we heard a new project from DJ-Age, in fact it was July when we dropped the second installment of the "New West Order" series; Rise To Power: Volume 2 which was the follow up to Volume 1.
Over the past two years we have featured his mixtapes that include projects with Crooked I, Akadimik and the 3 disc set From My Block 2 Yours.
Today we have his second three disc installment, this time the third edition of the "Westcoast Connectz" series which first appeared in 2004. "Westcoast Connectz: Volume 3" has the same goal as the previous two, to show unity across the West Coast; as DJ-Age put it - "I want to stress to the fans that this mixtape is put together to help unite the west as one. The chances of seeing these cats on the same tracklist is probably never gonna happen. I do this mixtape to showcase their talent it aint DJ-Age its about what the West has to offer.
DJ-Age has put together this Official tape with the help of an incredible array of artists and also DJs who have showed their support in the form of music and interspersed drops throughout the mixtapes. The 3 Disc Download, which you can get below, features artists including Crooked I, Eastwood, Bad Lucc, Kokane, Damizza, Roscoe, Bad Azz, Quiz, Problem, Pr1me, Taje, Dem Jointz, J Steez, Meech Wells, Big Wy, Warren G, Dynamic Certified, Roccett, Tekneek, Sly Boogy, Jay Rock, Tha Trapp, Dresta, Yukmouth, OG Daddy V, Fratthouse, Top Dogg, Wallet, XL Middleton and many more. Thats the biz right there man i do this for the artists etc & for the fans...my goal is to get artists on the coast to unite as one and possibly do callabos wit cats on there they aint heard of before and to also showcase what the west has to offer...like i said man this bout the artists on there Age jus put the pieces together......appreciate the support from all yall

Its that time again where all West Coast artists/producers/labels come together and showcase their talent on the biggest mixtape series period!
The 'West Coast Connectz' mixtape series started at wcrydaz.com & has grown from there since 2004 quite large.
The mixtape features new tracks, exclusives & freestyles from artists all over the West Coast as they come together to help unite the coast on a HUGE mixtape. The chances of seeing some of these names on the same tracklisting is next to nothing, from up and coming new west artists to established artists this mixtape is the most hyped and talked about series to ever be released.
I would like to personally thank each and every individual that contributed or helped out in any way during the process of this mixtape. It was very very very hard to go through near 300 submissions, organize drops, call cats & then have to hand pick myself every track, every drop and on top of that finally mix, edit & master the mixtape...not something your normal DJ's do yet i aint your average DJ.

This mixtape is dedicated to my late grandmother 'Maria Mazza' who passed away not too long ago R.I.P. I did this for you & miss you, you are what keeps me pushin, you were my inspiration & still are.

Im curious if you listened to this mixtape i dropped and what you think of the tags i added for argument sake cause like i said man every DJ does diff shit etc and i respect that but i personally aint diggin screamin etc i blame Kay Slay & Clue for starting that shit in a major way & agree Rectangle was the shit back in the day...in saying that though u need a understand it is part of the mixtape shit these days and its so ppl dont jack ur shit and sell it as their own.........i mean DJ's put alot a work and time into mixtapes, i know i do cause i try to mix, scratch etc etc how shit should be period!

ok, i downloaded this tape, the tags didn't annoy me at all. I liked it, now, so far i've only heard disc 1 and 2, been fucking with those, haven't even put in 3 yet.
Now, lets see, I don't know who did the production, but that Bad Lucc tracks is hard, the Mako Capone is hard, Big WY track is hard, Crooked I is hard, Jay rock was hard, there was another banger from some dude I never heard of, can't remember which one it was though, it goes "You can't knock the hustle & can't knock the struggle, my niggahs gotta bubble, you fuck with us you in trouble" and it got a chick on the sample saying something, that shit was hard! Thats probably my fav on disc 1, on disc 2 i like that crooked I, I think the other one was a problem track, I like that dude xl too.
