in the credits, it says that dj quik didn't write the song, but a George "G-One" Archie.
is another quik's nickname?
-
nah, i think G-One ghostwrote that track
-
G-One plays the drums and helped quik out with some of his production in the safe + sound days and rythm-al-ism days.
He also helped on that toni tony tone track lets get down, and produced Home Alone for R Kelly which was a single.
-
so quik wrote the track or not?

Home Alone was such a Good track!! the video was nice too!! I miss that era of music

I asked G-One about this a while back but he gave me a "No comment" and kinda laughed. I tried pushing for some more info but it was pretty clear he didn't want to talk about it.
-
damn. dollars & sense is my favorite diss of all time. but if he didn't write it...damn
-
I'm guessing it was a collaborative effort, but thats just a guess.
-
Come on everybody knows that a producer is included in the writing credits...things are never clear though unless u know for a fact he wrote it. Sounds like classic Quik to me.
WiCkZ
-
^ but if you read above.. g-one was involved in the 2 albums people claim are the two most 'classic' quik albums...
without g-one quik hasnt been the same..
-
yeah g-one plays some struments but quik write his own lyrics so dont worry
-
That's right, just like Robert Fonksta Bacon gave that special sound to Quik's Rhythm-al-ism...but if you think about it, all producers, however good they are, need that one person to make it sound bomb. U can see it with that All Eyez On Me, we wouldn't have had that sound without Quik mixing most of the tracks. As little as one may think it helped, it made a major difference. U gotta have your right hand man.

Only tracks G-One was a part of on Balance+Options were Quik's Groove V and the Divorce song. And he only co-produced The Divorce Song. Quiks production was excellent on there.
-
mc eiht accused quik of using a ghostwriter, on def wish iv.
-
 @ Quik not being the same since G-One...
Quik has been more consistent than anyone else I've heard...
G-One was credited as co-producer on like 5 tracks, that's it...
I'm sure he "helped", that's probably a given, but who doesn't have "help" these days?

According to the Safe+Sound booklet Safe+Sound, Somethin 4 Tha Mood, Itz Your Fantazy and Summer Breeze were co-produced by G-One. Just a Note: Suge Knight was the Executive Producer
-
Quik's washed up! The niggas was doing it BIG when pac was alive
-

Yeah Im sure Quik must hav had a big input 2 it.

(MC EIHT def wish line) - " I'MA tell you bout the time that we first met, the story that you told was some fake bullshit, It was me & chill my pal , the scene was like a showdown at the ok coral , It was you and about five of ya'll hangin , standing in the center looking like ya'll was banging , you approached me with your "P" hat but i was high off the blunt so i didn't "C" that !! , Nigga shoulda just told me that you was a mark & i wouldn't of hit you up with the notorious park ,
QUIK DIDN'T WRITE HIS OWN LYRIC'S ON A DISS TRACK NOW THAT IS WACK !!!!!!!!
(can't fade it , better fear it , got one of your lil B.G'S to write your fuckin lyric's ,) !!!!!!
-
Quik Didn't write the song. It's listed as written by G-One in the Murder Was The Case booklet. I don't care who wrote it, it's still a dope song.
-
nah, i think G-One ghostwrote that track
if he is in the credits, it aint ghost writing..lol
-
it says D.Blake in the "Safe + Sound" booklet
-
To me it's hard to believe that G-One wrote ALL the lyrics.

-
it says D.Blake in the "Safe + Sound" booklet
David Blake is the real name of DJ QUIK man
-
so if in safe+sound's booklet says d.balke (dj quik), and in murder was the case booklet g-one.
now i don't know shit
-
it says D.Blake in the "Safe + Sound" booklet

I agree...Most of Dre's Production had help from people especially his newer shit
and about the G-One shit I doubt he wrote it. If Quik had a ghostwiter on that shit(which he probably didnt) it was someone else not G-One. G-One is a musican/producer hes never made a song or wrote a song
-
yeah G-One is a musicist , a player of drums and shit not a writer/rapper
-
Quik's washed up! The niggas was doing it BIG when pac was alive
