Devin's new single "It's A Shame," produced by Dr. Dre, is creating a buzz in the Houston-based rapper's hometown. The song is the first single from Devin's Just Tryin' To Live, which is scheduled to be released on August 27 on Rap-A-Lot/EMD. Due to rampant bootlegging, the record may be issued earlier, according to a spokesperson for the artist.
The b-side for "It's A Shame" is the Xzibit and Nas collaboration "Some Of Em." Other songs on the album include another Dr. Dre production, "Yo Ho"; and the DJ Premier-produced "Doobie Ashtray." Devin's Odd Squad crew handles the rest of the album.
Devin is currently on a promotional tour with Scarface.
Devin made his solo debut in 1998 with The Dude. Additionally, he appeared on Dr. Dre's Dr. Dre 2001 on the song "F--k You," and most recently, De La Soul's "Baby Fat."

but anyways im real excited for this release, this is going 2 blow devin up!! i didnt know what to expect when i picked up his first release about 2 months ago, but i was blow away when i heard it that shit is almost a classic

they'll be talkin about how bootleggin has effected the industry and guessing the same will happen to devin, if that makes sence well i know what i mean...

thats what you'd think but if it was so tight why would it be a b-side?

Well, I know that "B-Sides" are generally not considered to be artists' best songs, but what does the term "b-side" actually mean? I'm curious.

Has anybody heard "it's a shame"?

LoL, I would be amused to see Gangsta T answer to this thread, it would be sumthin like:
Nas was together with Dre on the Firm-project, so Nas sucks ass.
Devin has co-operated with Dre, so he also sucks major ass.
Xzibit is down with Dre, and therefore sucks too.
If the joint is produced by Dre, it will suck EXTRA much too.
= The track sucks before it's released

On a Vinyl theres an A-Side and a B-Side...
The A-Side is usually the single and on the B-Side there is another song (which is usally one of the top 5 dopests songs from the album)...
Nowadays the term B-Side is used even with CD's, Tapes, etc...PeAcE

this sounds tight, i'll be expecting this, nas n xzibit, two tight lyricists workin together to make a track, along with dre on production, devin's album sounds like its gonna be pretty good
-
Wanna Ride was the b-side to DUbC's the streets, and both track were dope, so you cant say the b-side is one of the worst from the album.
-
If someone that dont know who is Devin buys the single and feels both tracks, probably he will buy the album.
I think it's marketing.

Yeah, it's like a taster of what to expect. You wouldn't go and put a shit song on a B-side of a great song now would you so whoever thinks B-side's are just on there for the sake of it is not thinking straight.
-
Right. If i'm not wrong in one of the snoop's singles from tha last meal (i don't remember which one) there was Hennessey n buddah as a b-side.
-
I don't think Some of 'em will make the album!! A b-side almost never makes it to the album! We'll just wait and c!
Peace
