Ludacris has decided to deliver his forthcoming Battle of the Sexes album before its scheduled release date this spring.
According to Luda, the album will now hit stores the second week in March.
"The release date on the new album is officially March 9th, it was March 16th, it's been pushed up a week due to the anticipation, feeling good, Battle of the Sexes, just got picked up on the Black Eyed Peas tour, so we'll be promoting that starting Thursday all the way until the end of April," Luda said in an interview. "So look for Battle of the Sexes on March 9th. Females from the past, present and future. Everybody from Eve, Trina, Lil Kim, Nicki Minaj, I got records talking about women, to women, women talking back to me and at the same time, just great music. I always try to out-do myself and re-invent, this is album number seven." (Meet Tha Dealer TV)
A partial tracklisting for the album was recently revealed during a listening session.
Noting that the tracklisting was subject to change before its tentative March 16 release date, Bridges thanked the crowd for supporting him over the last decade and offered his latest battle footage. 1. "Hey Ho" featuring Lil Kim 2. "Tell Me a Secret" featuring Ne-Yo 3. "My Chick Bad" featuring Nicki Minaj 4. "Got a Man" featuring Flo Rida 5. "Can't Live With You, Can't Live Without You" featuring Monica 6. "How Low" (Remix) featuring Ciara, Pitbull, Rick Ross, Twista 7. "Sex Room" featuring Trey Songz (Los Angeles Times)

This is going to be absolutely terrible. The cover looks like a poster for a bad VH1 reality TV show.
-
Looking at that partial tracklist, can't say I'm looking forward to this.
-
:-X
-
That cover is awful

Fuck thats what I was gonna say!
-
the video to his last tune was a lot but cant say this is lookin like its gonna be good. Hopefully he doesnt get to the point of singing whole songs ala Wayne, TI, Snoop
-
Another weak album to add to the Luda section. T.I. really is shitting on him discography wise.

no argument there lol

Another?
-Back For The First Time
-World Of Mouf
-Chicken & Beer
-Red Light District
-Release Therapy
-Theatre of the Mind
What's the weak album?
-
Every one of them, except Back For The First Time. They're not garbage but they lack the cohesive vibe and direction in general and are always ruined by 3,4 terrible tracks. You'd expect more from an MC from his caliber (same with Jada). But his intros are the shit.
-
lol pretty much all of them are weak minus 1 or 2

wait, you were the one praising So Far Gone.
Never MInd then
-
Lmao that's a mixtape how is that relevant to this thread. You seem to be one of those people who like everything from the so called credible MC's, just because it's "cool" to like them on these message boards, because they're "real" hip hop.
-
everybody knows Ludacris has one of the worst discographies for a rapper that's actually really good. As meho said, Jadakiss comes to mind too.
-
I'd take Ludas discog of TIs but then I guess im not keen on tracks like 22s or whateva u like.
-

shows u really haven't given a fair chance lol T.I. song is called '24s' and not '22s' lol. Plus, naming a weak single like "whateva u like" shows me u only hear the singles and make up your mind.
Trap Muzik, King & Urban Legend > Ludacris' entire disco.
-
Ok, I see the direction this thread is goin, so I'll help in that direction.
Luda's one of my favorite rappers, as many know - but I don't think any of his albums are weak, they are just not as strong as you'd expect from a rapper like him. Luda could've had a couple of classics already if he had the right direction as Meho is saying.
-
Medium I was saying the same shit a year ago mainly because Lunatic was getting on my nerves with the constant T.I. love, so I was just hating on it because I was stubborn. But if you look from an objective view and give both a fair chance you'll see that T.I.'s discography is better. I like Luda better as a rapper but when it comes to albums he chokes every single time.
-
Dub: Your right. I don't think anybody is saying Luda's albums are a 1/10 or anything crazy. The problem is, they're are a lot of 6/10 albums when he's an 8.5/10 rapper most of the time. That's the issue imo.
Meho: Finally lol. Yes T.I. is one of my favorite rappers but as u said, looking at it objectively, T.I.'s discography is better. Luda is the better rapper than T.I. (I'm not biased where I can't admit that), but for me, I take a solid disco. 10 times outta 10 over a good rapper who chokes on his albums

You conclude this from what?
everybody knows Ludacris has one of the worst discographies for a rapper that's actually really good. As meho said, Jadakiss comes to mind too.
His albums always have some weaker cuts but the amazing cuts compensate for it.
-
an amazing song doesn't compensate for another bad song. A great song is a great song, and a bad song is a bad song.

This message board, of course.
-
I'm in the agreement of T.I.'s discography being better. Although his last album for me was arse easily his weakest (not counting I'm Serious as I haven't listened to it )and probably worse than all of Luda's albums. But T.I. has more great albums than Luda. The problem for me with Luda is his choice of beats for his albums, he always chooses badly.
-

on point... lol
not really looking forward to this but "How Low" and the remix are straight, and I bet this won't be the final cover
-
This album looks terrible. That cant possibly be the real cover, looks like one of those ebst of the 80s covers from those cheesey infomercials.
I agree with ludacris having a weak discography.Hes one the most charismatic emcees of all time and consistently steals the show on every guest verse hes on.But his albums are always a huge letdown.Their always average albums with some great songs, some ok ones and some bad ones.I dont know what the reason is behind it.
-
ones in bold are dope and have at least
at least 4 of his albums all have at least 12 or more bangers on average (of the 4) on them, thats pretty good
lyrically luda could and should kill t.i on the mic....but hes been wack last few years
Back For The First Time (dope album wit some bangers)
World Of Mouf (best album overall)
Chicken & Beer (cool album wit somem bangers)
Red Light District (dope album wit more bangers but not all)
-Release Therapy (went downhill)
-Theatre of the Mind (futher downhill)
Another weak album to add to the Luda section. T.I. really is shitting on him discography wise.

Back For The First Time - good album
Word Of Mouf - has some of his best tracks, few fillers though which bring it down
Chicken & Beer - many dope tracks on this album, only a few weak spots
Red Light District - solid all the way through IMO, I guess you can say this is my favorite album of Luda's
Release Therapy - different sound than all his previous albums but it had some great tracks, others were forgettable
Theatre Of The Mind - a lot of bangers but too many features
I think Ludacris has a decent discography and he has his share of dope songs but T.I. still kills him as far as putting albums together 8)
-
How come people brought up T.I. right away anyway?
Stylistically they are nothing alike.
Decided to listen to Release Therapy again, how can you call that weak?

I think it's funny how T.I. was brought up right away too lol but these 2 are always being compared so I'm not really surprised.
Better Lyricist: Ludacris
Better Discography: T.I.
-
Better Lyricist: Ludacris
Better Discography: T.I.
sums it up. But "Trap Muzik" (2001-2005 era), T.I. was lyrical as fuck.

agreed on all accounts
-
I'd gree with the Ludacris weak album sentiment, but he has released more great singles and cult album tracks than almost any other commerical emcee still working today. Especially from the South.
Don't see what it has to do with T.I. but just seen as everyone is comparing the two, regardless of his better albums (which I still think is up for debate - although Trap Muzik was brilliant) I'd take Luda over TI anyday.
-
luda at his very best should eat up alotta rappers...hes been wack but at his very best he can be a beast
this is wack tho

yup
-
I thought lyrically Paper Trail was pretty good, before that, I don't get it, he isn't particularly skilful or thoughtful in his song strctures, isn't particularly witty, isn't going to dazzle you with wit, isn't razor sharp with introspection, wasn't thought provoking, has a great flow, that I can say but, overall...
Very average
As for Ludacris Word Of Mouf is an excellent album, he is a truly talented rapper but the last few releases have been so so
-
^damn not even "Trap Muzik?"
-
Looking forward to this album.
And for me...,
Better rapper- Luda
Better albums- T.I.
-
ludas first two albums were decent, got tired of him quick though. definitely better than ti though
-
Im actually looking forward to this, Everbody Drunk As Fuck was dope. Ludas flow was ridiculous, lately hes been flowin his ass off. Look at it like this its called Battle of the Sexes he's gotta go hard and rep it for the Men

This has been a on going debate here for a while, who is better TI or Luda. Kind of like you could not have a Raekwon or Joe Budden/Slaughterhouse thread without the other being mentioned.
-
T.I don't write his rap's right??
-
he writes for others....but whether he writes his own or not, is he a dope rapper?
compared to luda....no
compared to andre 300o...no
compared to cee-lo....no
i mean hes nuthin special and hes a commercial rapper....hell never be on the rakim, em, scarface, kool g rap level IMO

ya T.I. wrote a single back in the day for Bow Wow when he was still pretty young. Dunno if he ever wrote more than 1 song for Bow Wow though.
-

yeah I think it was that "Fresh As Is" song or whatever it was called
going back on topic to the cover, I just remembered there was a show I think on VH1 called Battle Of The Sexes, so maybe if this actually is the final cover art then it was intended to be based off that show :P
