And John Salley always playing Biggie. Anyways it's  K-day no contest. Power is finally playing older/westcoast shit but their playlist gets really Repetitive. K-day plays great music for the most part. They even played Kam's Whoop Whoop.

KDAY>Power 106

To tell you the truth I don't like either. Power is okay and KDAY is fallen short of it's duties as #1 source for west coast hip hop. But the edge obviously goes to KDAY. They're both better then anything here in SD though.

beat always played more R&B

but power 106 > kday for a few reasons

power 106 = big boy = the best morning show in la

kday = bad reception in most parts of la and no service in others, very week signal

I must admit i find myself turning to kday more cuz they play better music but they need to get a stronger signal.

this should have been a poll..... k day, power only started playing old shit because kday did, i remember when ja rule was on top power and the beat would play his shit a billion times every hour, kday was refreshing and made me turn on my radio again.

True. I live in Orange County and work in Irwindale and the signal is weak in both places and during my commute. I used to work in the SF valley (Northridge) and the signal is weak there too. The only are where it's strong is in the Long Beach area up to downtown LA west to about Westwood. Outside of that it seems that it barely comes in.

I live in mid city which is between downtown and west la and I get terrible reception

Yea, but I mean you can't knock KDay for bad reception. I donno who brought it back, but radio stations cost MAJOR money, and they are independent and not part of Cummulus, who are the people that own The Beat, Power, and most major stations around the country (if I'm not mistaken). KDay is in Redondo Beach, so it has better service around the South Bay area than anywhere else. But when independent stations first start, it takes them a while to build up enough money to get better service throughout the city.

But I like KDay better overall. Power 106 has better personalities and more personality in general, and has better promotions and all that. But music wise, KDay is definitely better for LA people, even though they played the hell outta "Grills" and "Oh I think they like me" in December. And KDay plays a lotta independent artists who don't have major companies payin them 100,000 to play their music, so they have more control. They had Therapy sessions in rotation, and that track is damm near illegal and wasn't even on anyone's album, so that shows how much different they are politically.
