For me it has to be:
"The Nigga Ya Love To Hate"
The beat is amazing, Cube completly rips it, and then to make it even doper, the build ups in the chorus bit are straight perfection, although I must say I prefer the first chorus to the second.
Although he has loads of dope tracks, I think that has to be my all time favourite Cube track.
What about the rest of y'all?
-
probably "You Know How We Do It"
-
Ghetto Vet
He's had so many classics, but I always liked this track cuz it showed he hadn't lost a step and could still come up with an interesting concept. Perfectly delivered, very mature and insightful, Cube at his finest.
-
Ghetto Bird
but there's so many..
-
"Pushing Weight" with Short Khop.
-
"It Was A Good Day"
-
too hard for me really..
maybe You Know How We Do It
-
Naw man, too many to choose 1.
I'll choose 3:
A BITCH IS A BITCH - Pure classic track.
A GANGSTA'S FAIRTAYLE - Cube is just crazy, lmao!
CHECK YOURSELF - I love it.
But like i said, too many tracks to choose, too many tracks! I just love Cube!
-
Probably "Rollin Wit the Lench Mob", has everything that I associate with classic Cube. But really anything he put down from NWA to Death Certificate is incredible. Hard to pick, though, and will probably change to something different next week.
-
"Pushing Weight" with Short Khop.
Have you even heard Ice Cube's early 90's material? IMO that's one of Cube's worst tracks.
My fave Cube song: Us.
-
It would have 2 bee one of these 3:
1) It was a good day
2) One Nation (Bop Gun)
3) Ghetto Vet

^^Feel that statement like a brick in the face^^
Exactly how I feel homie when it comes to this Q.
If it had to be one tho...this week
"Once upon a time in the project's"

i like pushing weight as well, wouldnt say its my favorite song
and i have all ice cube cds and i dont feel his 90's material at all, not because he comes wack but because the production doesnt sound modern enough, thats why even though most people consider Warn and Peace volume 1 + 2 his worst albums, i like them the best cause overall the production sounds modern
i must say though, A GANGSTA'S FAIRTAYLE is a tight ass song
-
"The Nigga Ya Love To Hate"
-

Nigga you love to hate is too hard for me. I like the more laid back stuff. My fav. is probalby "Today Was a Good Day"... sucks it was his biggest single, lol, yall probably think that's all I know. I've got all his albums, I just think that's my favorite song. I liked "They won't call me a nigga (when I get to heaven)" alot, too, especially the slow version with Louis Farrakhan, and I like "You know how we do it", and "Down for whateva".
-
ghetto vet
peace

The Nigga Ya Love Ta Hate
-
I THINK THE GREATEST ICE CUBE TRACK WAS 'TRUE TO DA GAME' WHEN HE WAS DISSING THE UNCLE TOMS AND RAPPERS LIKE MC HAMMER FOR EXAMPLE..
-
The Nigga You Love To Hate (I luv dat chorus)
Ghetto Bird (amazing beat)
Ghetto Vet (great beat, dope lyrics)
I think that's my 3 favs
-
What'z up from Melbourne, Australia,
I'll put down my top three:
(1) Ice Cube - 'Ghetto Bird' (rapping through the eyez of a night police helicopter as the 'ghetto bird'). Genius idea for a track. And az for the classic westcoast beat on the track, all I can say is fuckin' damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn !!!
(2) Ice Cube - 'Lil Ass Gee (Eerie Gumbo Remix)' (rapping about young kidz who are caught up in gangz, then try to act hard like gangstaz, committing crimez, and end up fuckin' the rest of their livez up by going to jail). And az for the classic westcoast beat on the track, all I can say is the bass fuckz up my car stereo system all da time !!!
(3) Ice Cube - 'Ghetto Vet' (I first heard this track off some 'Master P(iss)' soundtrack/compilation, back a few yearz ago. 'Ice Cube' definitely ripz it up lyrically on this track. (For some reason, I visually see this track in my mind every time I hear it. Some deep shit in this track - imagine being shot in the back, left paralyzed, your dick not functioning, comtemplating suicide etc.,) The only criticism - this beat needs a better westcoast producer's touch behind it. 'Dr.Dre' or 'VMF' would be my pickz to remix this track. I would be looking for a westcoast eerie beat, similar to 'Natural Born Killaz' with plenty of bass.
Peace !!!

Man Ice Cube has had so many good songs. I think my favorite Ice Cube song is the What Can I Do remix. I think it's the best remix ever recorded and Laylaw flipped that roger and zapp sample better than anyone has ever flipped it. My other Cube favorites are Ghetto Vet, Ghetto Bird, Dopeman, Us, No Vaseline, Steady Mobbin, How to Survive in South Central, Nigga You Love to Hate, Faded, Jackin' For Beats, damn there are so many.

"ain't no bustaz this way \w k-dee & dazzie dee" (it's dazzie's track)
"let it reign" wscg
"do you like criminals" (wscg)
i gotta give props to juronimo for recognizing "how 2 survive..." i thought noone was gonna remember that one. that chick talking giving the tour is funny as hell.
