^
Well that depends on what you mean by "Better"
What i mean IMO, is that regulate was the platform, on which Warren G started to create his funk style signature..
Which worked very well on his first Album-Regulate

Now what i mean by his albums post Regulate gave him time to not only horn in on those skills from his Regulate but expand on them to accommodate others styles while still infusing the already mastered  G-Funk style..
Look at "I Want It all"..that album had grown alot more IMO from Regulate(Am More mature feel to the instrumens and melodies), and the other  album followed suit!!

"MidNite Hour"..Sees Warren G..take a step out of the funk into new realm..although sometimes he didn't quite fit well..but also should his skill at taking risk musically but still keep the production sharp!

Regulate started it all off..so to say that his other album are better, would be wrong IMO.

Return of the Regulator without a doubt. Warren got his grown man on with this. Regulate was the best, and I Want It All, Take a Look over Your Shoulder, Mid Night Hour were all pretty much equal trash.

I do own I Want It All and Midnight Hour, and yes they do have some good tracks, but imo they were both 3/5's as albums. I'm not looking to stir up shit, I really thought I Want It All sucked, didn't even like the original "Game Don't Wait". He's not a good rapper at all, great producer, but if he's gonna be the lead vocal artist on an album, it's most likely not gonna be good to me. Take A Look Over your Shoulder was ok, maybe 3.5/5, but still not very good. Eastcoast and Westcoast people opinions is gonna differ, just lettin yall know what I think.

None of those 3 releases could even come close to Return of the Regulator to me, love that fuckin cd.

I bought ROTR the day it dropped. listened to it all once, and never listened to it again. Not that it was bad, it was completely enjoyable...but it just did not addict me at all. same with eminem's MMlp and eminem show-dope records, but no replay value/addiction

Different strokes, I still listen to Return of the Regulator, "G Shit is too Much", "Young Locs Slow Down", "Speed Dreaming". With any Warren G album, there is isn't gonna be alot of replay just because of how weak of a rapper he is.

BTW I still bump Eminem Show, and MMLP to this day. Eminem show moreso, but they both still get play. Great lyricsm & wordplay never get old too me.

warren g's rapping is the shit to me, it's really similar to snoops and just because i like the persona he presents himself as, i roll with him as he makes rap-mistakes i guess if that make sense.

I got you, youre gonna like him no matter what. His lyrics and flow don't hit me the same way as every one else I guess. There are people out here who like him, I gave Midnight Hour to one of my friends. I'm the same way with Kurupt, I know he sucks ass now, but I love his voice, flow, persona, etc and will probably like everything he ever puts out.

I figure that's the only reason you told me I was "wrong" for saying IWIA is trash. This was just a lazy, boring album imo. Notice the imo. Like I said, I need to have lyrics for an album to be considered good too me.

And I feel like he only got on because he's Dre's little brother, and cause of his affiliation with Snoop. Don't get me wrong he has put out alot of good music, I would call him a Westcoast legend, not altogether hip-hop though. I realize, not every rapper has to be about lyrics, but for my personal taste I need the lyrics. I thought his writers did an excellent job on ROTR.

That's how the music industry works though, bro... Warren G is a hip-hop legend, whether you like it or not. He's a major contributor to the creation of G-funk and part of what brought westcoast hip-hop to its rise at the top. One of the greatest and most influential hip-hop producers of all time...And if every song had amazing lyrics, then it would subtract from the variety of different styles we get to pick from. Don't you like variety?

I love variety, just not boring varieties which is much of Warren's music. You won't hear anybody outside of Cali saying Warren is a hip-hop legend, just a West Coast legend. There is no way your'e gonna sell me on that. 2 good albums out of 5 just doesn't equal a legend.

And to Tanj, I've heard his work on Thug Life and on Do U Remember and I've always liked Warren's production, never had a problem with it, but his rappin' is booboo. And when a booboo rapper is the lead performer on any album, more than likely, it's not gonna be good.

Sorry, but someone who had as big a role in creating such a universal sound as Warren has to be a L E G E N D...2 "good" albums? Dude's put out and worked on his share of classics, I wouldn't dare question his resume. And nothing is boring about soundin' funky... 8)

For real, what's "booboo" about Warren's rappin though? He's not a lyrical monster, but his steez is to be simple and efficient. His voice and flow is always on point...You can say you don't feel his style, but to say he's a "booboo" rapper definitely ain't right...PeACe

i am certainly not dissing the homey floatin, but I agree with NIK that warren is an entertaining if not brilliant rapper.

the rap nor the beat make a track, it's the over-all product: the song. warren's not a dope rapper but he produces*wordplay bitches* dope songs.

Not all rappers are about the lyrics, man...A good portion of west coast shit is more about the SOUND. If you don't like Warren, I guess that's your taste, but he's a legend in the hip-hop game...PeACe

i feel you, i always felt like he puts good sounding shit together.

i agree... im more about hte music not the lyrical shit

I don't understand how you can't grasp the fact that i don't like Warren G's music, his lyrics are weak and I don't like most of his beats. I'm telling you, go anywhere outside of Cali, and they will laugh like I am when the words warren g and legend come together.

nah, you can have your opinion. i'm just saying mine. me agreeing with NIK doesn't make your opinion a non valid one to have. it's all good man.

I feel you Tanj, and I wasn't really trying to go at either one of you. I just don't like someone trying to tell me my own opinion is wrong, but that's what NIK does lol. It's all gator.

Naah, you just can't handle other peoples opinions, that's all...So what if someone doesn't agree with what you're saying? If I think you're wrong, that's MY OPINION. LOL.

I don't have a problem with your opinions, telling me I'm wrong without stating that it's your opinion is what I don't like. I'm sure youll go for the last word now.

I didn't realize that I had to state everything I was saying was my opinion...I'll make sure to do it for you next time though.
