V.d. Vaart came in the field for Mathijsen, that's a midfielder for a defender. Heitinga came in the field when Boulahrouz was sent off and Cocu was in the center of the defense.
You just don't like Van Basten cause he has an Ajax background.

LOL he was my hero, i can't hate on him too. Plus i respect the fact he tried to build a team around young players. He made some mistakes, but there's a thin line between being intelligent and being dumb, if you are a coach. Look at Lippi. When he put Iaquinta in against USA, 90% of us italians were dissing him and saying blasphemies. Then Iaquinta scored. Speechless. Sometimes you're lucky, sometimes you're not. But you guys have a young team and a young coach, you can improve and i bet you'll have a good EC in 2 years. Think positive. I said the same things to Javii about Mexico: you should look at the future, and it's looking pretty nice. This time it wasn't the right one.

I couldnt believe he left out Van Nistelrooy in a crucial game.
From watching Netherlands in this world cup, i think there main problem is the formation. Only one uip front with Van Persie and Robben supporting doesnt work. The lone striker doesnt get much support but the main problem seems to be that Van Persie and Robben never pass the ball when they get into good positions. They tend to go on there own, you have Van Nistelrooy prob the most dangerous striker around in the penalty area and they give him no service.

Van Nistelrooij played like shit against S&M and Ivory Coast. That's why he didn't start against Argentina and Portugal.
