post a fuckin link

Its true... Im listening to it right now... Just started the intro so hopefully i was wrong about it being sorry....

Wow, I'm waiting until this hits the shelves. It's funny seeing all these people getting "dissappointed" on this release. You muthafuckaz should know Quik has been ten steps ahead of the game from jump street.
He's never been a predictable producer and incorporates all kinds of shit into his music.
It's 2009, I'm hoping Quik tears the muthafucking thing up with something way different, 'cause the music industry is moving fast.

Sweet, I'll take a listen... I normally don't buy albums but it's only going to be $10 at Best Buy.... not bad.

i can wait to buy this album i already heard the previews and im lovin it
-
"Exodus" ain't even a song, take the snippet and repeat it for 3 minutes... imbarassing.
Between the new tracks i love "BlaQKout" (even if Quik's flow ain't at its best but the beat... damn!!!!!!), "Ohh" and "Cream".
Worst Quik album ever but it has some good tracks and for 2009 standards I think we should celebrate.
-
The appeal just topped it off for me..
record is a feel good record.. fuckin love the hook..
-
they should have rhymed on "Exodus"
what the fuck is that "Jupiter" track! that's too out of control for me
Blaqkout
Cream N Ya Panties
Do You Know
Ohh!
Fuck Yall
The Appeal
^ I like these
-
imbarassing.
Irony
-
"Jupiter's Critic & the Mind of Mars" Without a doubt DJ Quik's worst track.
-
Cream in ya panties is easily the best track on the album. The beat is classic quik except for the annoying synth in the chorus
-
just had a quick first listen, im feelin it way more then when i checked the snippets, i dont even mind Jupiter and Exodus, gotta let quik do his thing when i think about it, all genious artists like to experiment so its coo, tracks even bump hard on good system :) l. Only thing i really dislike on this album is that Problem skit, i mean rather put one more track on it featuring problem, im sure they could record few more tracks , and why put two versions of Watsha Really Wanna do on 12 tracks + skit album.
best track from the first listen: Blakqout and Cream
8.5/10 album!
Like davizz said we gotta celebrate this release!
-
link?
-
First thing that stands out to me is how clear this album sounds 8)
Best tracks for me:
BlaQKout
Cream
Do You Know
Fuck Y'all
The Appeal
Above average:
Hey Playa
Ohh! (this sounds like that new Soulja Boy track... ???)
9 Times Outta 10
The rest are :-\
Jupiter's Critic sounds like a UK grime track, Exodus could've been better as a fully fleshed out Quik's Groove (without that stupid chanting), and Whatcha Wanna Do is straight outta wackville.
Overall, 8 bumpable tracks out of 13 is a great ratio, but it's a shame that most of the good tracks were out well before release which dampens the impact of this album.

Quik and Kurupt man , what the fucc happened to these dudes ? they used to be tight bacc in the 90's , they fell of hard though , Kurupt aint made anything good since Tha Streetz is a Mutha , and Quik aint made a nice beat or album since Balance & Options . u only a poor idiot, i love this new album from start to finish for your happiness lil IDIOT
The Appeal and Intro are WONDERFUL, nobody fuckin MC GAYITH can replace songs like that
-
Damn.. I dunno!
Overall a dope album. Some real strong cuts.. a few weak ones. I'm not really feeling whatcha wanna do & exodus.
But everyone on here seems to be hating on Jupiters Critic, but I'm really feelin that track. I know its hella techno sounding..
but to me its way better than that generic ass boom boom clap black eyed peas song.. And was anybody listening to Quik's lyrics in the song??
I know its completly different from other Quik tracks, but his flow and lyrics out this world!
But Blaqkout, Cream, Do U know, Fuck Yall, Hey Playa, Jupiters Critic & the appeal are all dope to me!
thats 7 dope cuts.. plus Ohh is cool, and the bonus track Bees to the Flower is pretty funky too.
just 2 weak cuts and a wack ass skit.
-
the bonus track Bees to the Flower is pretty funky too.
Is that available anywhere? I haven't heard it yet.

Nothing wrong with that; most of the fans on here are D/Ling the album and then picking up the CD when it drops.

Power 106 plays "Bees To The Flower" everyday on NEW@2 with Yesi Ortez, but they don't go online so I can't check, I don't even know what NEW@2 is!

Jeez...I'm guessing you have some serious trouble interacting with people in real life. That's probably why you live your life online untill the day you decide to blow up a highscool, ASSHOLE!
I'm gonna download this and buy it myself. Just wanted to let the people know that this album is actually worth buying, even if you never heard Quik and Kurupt before.
-
okay
it is a good album, problem is that we nearly already knew half of the songs and songs like "hey playa" are already played out a little.
all songs are dope, like 2-3 are wack..
the only thing which i did not like, the second quik album with only 30 sumthin minutes of music >:(
i would give it 7/10
-
Finally leaked 8)
Overall Im a lil bit disapointed but its still a good record
"BlaQKout" what a great introduction, "Cream N Ya Panties" is THE jam of the LP, "Oh" got a weird hook but its still pretty dope cut
"Exodus' is some useless interlude >:( "Jupiter's Critic & the Mind of Mars" reminds me kinda "I Cant Swim" from Snoop's Last Meal
and well its a particular track but not terrible to me and "The Appeal" is just another amazing record 8)
I gotta give some more spins but so far my favorite LP this year with AZ that leaked yesterday
-

Thats why you dont download and listen to every track that hits the internet. Just because you decided to download everything that hits the net at the spur of the moment doesnt make the album not dope. Its fresh to me because I only downloaded Hey Playa. All the other shiit is brand new. The internet really lessens the music listening experience because with delays and pushbacks when you have 4 to 5 tracks from the album before it drops it makes it real stale.

Very true. If I had heard the whole thing today for the first time, track 2 would've been about me ;D

8) Summer is now official!
Copping this no doubt!!!!!
This is grown folks music.
You are right Quik, It's does feel familiar.

damn, how'd it leak? Did they ship a pre-order hella early & someone decided to rip it? I wanted to see if they could actually make it to their release date without a full leak. I'm not gonna DL, I'm gonna get the album the old fashioned way.

everything leaks, once the cd goes to get pressed it leaks and they have to do that a good 2 weeks before its released so the stores have in time for the date. Just the way it goes, if you got the will power to hold off til release date more power to you.

Just wish there was a couple more tracks and remove the problem skit, that jupiter shit and the whatcha wanna do alternate version, then it would have a chance of bein a 5/5 imo, that cream track is so goddamn fresh 8)
-
Seriously, I've had this on repeat the whole day, and I never believed Quik could make that funky smooth jazz shit like he used to, but he proved me wrong within the first three tracks on the album 8)
-
Even if Jupiters critic didnt have the robotic voice it would be tolerable and id end up liking it, what was he thinkin, a fuckin robotic voice!!!!!!!!!!! no1 thinks robotic voices are cool
-

Unless it's a spoof of T-Pain e.g. "How Much Does Ur Pussy Weigh?" ;D
Take out the robot voice tho, and you have the kind of beat I could hear a British rapper on, like Dizzee Rascal.
-
Kurupt has run out of things to talk about anyway...he's finished...His best days are definately behind him....even Quik can't save his tired ass....
-
Hook me up.
-
Google the title and the ripper, you'll get the results you seek if you want the album. I like it, but it ain't a classic for me. However, Kurupt came across real strong.

Sure thing, but like many fans i feel they should have thrown few more tracks instead of that Problem skit and duplicated Watsha Really Wanna Do track
-
So far sounds good. I'm probably gonna buy this one.
-
To the people hating on "Exodus" have you ever heard of Quik Grooves? Has one on almost every album.
-
Im definitely buying this record. Ive bought every record Quiks came out wit other than, Born and Raised only because I was 11 when it came out originally. PM, the kid a link. 8)
-
DJ Quik’s rapping and production prowess and Kurupt’s microphone superiority shine throughout BlaQKout, the pair’s first collaborative album. A prime example of the duo’s explosive chemistry is “9 Times Out Of 10.” Over a heavy drum assemblage, Kurupt freaks an intricate rhyme pattern about the likelihood of things happening over and over again. “It’s total wordplay,” Kurupt explains. “You’ve got to catch it by listening. The beat catches you to where you want to hear what is going on. In life, nine times of 10, these are things that happen. That’s what I broke the whole record down to.”
-
Album Is Doooooooooooooooope As Hell!!!
Thanks Quik & Kurupt For Such A Smooth Album
Make Sure You Cop This When It Drops June 9th
-
couldn't wait for the physical copy to arrive, surprise surprise. the album is ace, i'm pleasantly surprised 8)
however it's not perfect, we didn't need two version of watcha wanna do. even one version is more than enough cause the track sucks.
but the rest of the album is slamming pretty much! a good serving of that quik brilliance 8)
replace both watcha wanna do's with better tracks and you may have a really great album. as it is, its too short and having watcha wanna do on there twice really ruins the smooth vibe.
definitely worth copping though 8)
-
Damn, I've been looking around for "Bees To The Flower". I can't find that shit anywhere.
-

bout to peep this out
edit: its aight i like it
-
To the people hating on "Exodus" have you ever heard of Quik Grooves? Has one on almost every album.
What a disgrace to Quiks groove's series to include this horrible shit
-
Exodus have a great funk groove under the vocals, who care, just listen and stop hating
i love Jupiter's too, old 80 Funk vibe
-
Can someone pm me wit the link
-
i got it hit me wit a pm if u want the link
-
To be honest, I expected more. Alot more...
Some really dope tracks, but also tracks like Whatsha Wan Do (even two versions of this horrible track :-X), )9x' outta 10, Jupiter's Critic and the Mind of mars (I agree with ever1 who says worst Quik track ever), Exodus (any Quik Grove>>>>Exodus) + 1 Skit on a 40 minute album = pretty disappointing
Trauma>>>>>>>>>Blaqout by a mile
good tracks are:
- Blaqout
- Cream In ya Panties
- Do you know
- The Appeal
- Fuck Y'all
ok tracks:
- Hey Playa (dope track but becomes annoying really quick)
- Ohh!
and then we have:
9x's outta 10 not really bad but so mediocre, would fit on any recent DPG album
Whatsha won do (2X) :-X
Exodus :-\
Jupiter's Critic & the Mind of Mars :puke:
I'd say arround 3/5 now..
-

damn its like me and you have the same reviews....i guess we have the same tastes and expectations from these 2...heres mine:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I was definetly anticipating this release as Kurupt and Quik are 2 of my fav. artists even if they are most definetly past their primes. Lately i have been feeling kurupt more than i did for the whole 2001-2007 era. He seems motivated by terrace martin and knows he needs to step up quality.
Now as for this project... WOW, i dont know how some of these songs were released:
Jupiters Critic (OMG this the worst thing ive ever heard)
Exodus (OMG BAD also)
Whatcha wanna do (annoying ass beat, worse: its on here twice!!)
As bad as those songs are, these songs are good:
Fuck yall (this is what everyone expected from these 2!!)
cream ya panties (probably the best on the album, damn this beat is nice!!)
hey playa (very interesting sample and quik rocked it
anniversary (kurupt really spits and the beat is great
do you know (gotta give it up for quik on the beat!!!)
oh! (pretty good beat, i think this is what everyone expected)
appeal - (classic quik and kurupt, what everyone expected)
7/13 are tight....this album is a 3/5 at best and a dissapointment to me being a westcoast fan so i KNOW most of yall wont feel it....I do think they have/had it in them to make the album most of us wanted, but quik is very experimental and i dont think many been feelin it lately. Artists gotta evolve though, i suppose.
-
Bee's to the flowe" will be an itunes track expect it when the album drops on jun 9th..
Damn, I've been looking around for "Bees To The Flower". I can't find that shit anywhere.

to be fair, Hey Playa belongs to the first categrory. My favs is 'the Appeal' and 'Blaqout' so far. 2 or 3 tracks of the same quality and I would've called it a great album. But so many 'fillers' on a 40 minutes album which we all anticipated that much is kinda disappointing.
-
link plz ;D
-
the appeal is amazing 8)
-

Exactly...
I agree with the reviews y'all been making, it's good but there are 4 soooooopa wack tracks that bring the album down.
-
This is a very slipshod album. A couple of semi-good tracks here and there. I'm not interested of buying this album.
-
Who the hell is that on Cream N Ya Panties?
-
Who the hell is that on Cream N Ya Panties?
I think Quik said it somewhere in his last interview, some new cat

Short review after one listen
BlaQKout - Picture perfect Intro. - 5/5
Cream N Ya Panties - Loving this shit. Wanna know who the rapper on the last verse is. Still damn good shit. - 5/5
Do You Know - Loved it from the first time I heard it. - 5/5
Watcha Wan Do Ft. Yo-Yo - Fuck it, I like it. Catchy ass shit. - 4/5
Ohh - 4.5/5
Fuck Y'all - Loved it from the first time I heard it. - 5/5
Hey Playa - Genius sample. - 5/5
Exodus - Not as bad as everyone saying, but meh. - 3/5
9Xs Outta 10 - Love it from the first time I heard it. The Kurupt rhyme patter on this is crazy. - 4.75/5
Jupiter Critic & The Mind Of Mars - Awful. - 1/5
The Appeal - Classic Rupt/Quik - 5.5
The B... - Funny, but needless skit really.
Watcha Wan Do Remix Ft. Problem - Cool to hear Problem on here. Worthless to appear again though. - 3.5/5

Looks like a solid 4.25/5 to me. I would say 4/5 but that seems to be the standard rating most fans give "good" rap albums these days, and it's slightly above that imo.

Couple more hours at work then I finally get to go home and check this shit out.
Regardless, I'll be buying 2 or 3 copies on Tuesday. Support good westcoast music! 8)

I see a lot of dickriding her just because it's Quik and Kurupt. Let's leave out the fact that Quiks said he was gonna make Kurupt spit some grown man shit and not the bullshit he's been rapping about latey AND let's concentrate on the beats.
Only dope beats are: Blackout, Cream, Fuck Ya'll, Hey Playa and Appeal
The rest is either a) on some Fixxers shit (What You Wanna Do twice!. Ohh, Exodus, Jupiter) or experimenting goes wrong (9 Times Outta 10, Do You Know).
Quik's beast beat by far in the past few years remains "Press Play" and Kurupt should've done the cd with Hi-Tek like he said last year.
-
^Damn I like the "Do You Know" beat and Kurupt just RIPS APART "9xs outta 10"
-
damn. i cant wait til i get the physical copy. I'm gonna DL now.
and by the looks of the posts feedback is pretty positive, where where yall to defend it?
-
Album Is Doooooooooooooooope As Hell!!!
Thanks Quik & Kurupt For Such A Smooth Album
Make Sure You Cop This When It Drops June 9th
Right !!!!!
DOPE ASS ALBUM !!!!!!
QUIK & KURUPT CAN'T GO WRONG
-

-
Well, there's always Kurupt & Terrace Martin's "Street Lights" to look foward to.

Agree, I'm digging those tracks, both nice joints.

The Appeal is bangin as well

LINK?
-
from a quik skip thru, best song is hey playa but this is a different album
-
My take:
Blaqkout- Mindblowingly smooth. 5/5
Cream in Ya Panties-If the whole album sounded like this...good track 4.5/5
Do You Know- I like this track. Different than normal Quik sound but still laid back. 4/5
Fucc Y'all- Not perfect but really good. 4.5/5
Hey Playa!- I don't like the replayed sample but the horns are great. 4/5
The Appeal-Refined quik sound. I'd prefer a different kind of hook maybe w/El Debarge (too much to ask I know). 4/5
The rest are average to unlistenable. All in all it's better than I expected but unlike old Quik, you can't just play his albums straight through anymore.
-
Can someone send me the link so that i can hear this. Im dying over here
-
album is dope as fuck
this the first time he hit the studio with rob bacon and g one in years...motherfuckers aint worthy.
kurupt hits the mark about 60 percent of the time but the beats on here are trump tight and are more then capable of carrying kurupt who isnt a slouch just isnt as hungry as he was when he was younger IMO.
-
somebody needs to post a link
-
edited together my own 11 track version using some extra tracks and getting rid of a few 8)
real smooth listening now 8)

I Downloaded it and WOW! :o far out its a pure classic!
Only problem is the skit and the alternate version of Watcha won do. Just no need for it.
I like the different sounds and i actually like the song Jupiter's Critic & the mind of mars. very weird but cool as well.
I am definately buying it. Need to support them.
Great Album
4.5/5
-
i downloaded it and heard it before i am gonna buy it
4/5
maybe in a few years this will be classic in my opinion
but we will see then

Chad Vader's Blaqout review;
I was first sceptic about this project. Both is one of the best to ever do it,but together, nah. They proved me wrong with this album,Quik switched up his style to fit Kurupt,so did Kurupt. There's a couple of tracks that got to go,other than that... shit is tight.
Overrall rating;
3.8/5
Yeah that basically sums it up for me. Very unique sound, you will not hear another west coast album or hip hop album that sounds like this. If Kurupt drops the rest of his "catalogue" of albums that he is talking about doing and they keep the quality of this release then he is on to something. His rhymes were solid, nothing awe inspiring but nothing really just rambling on and on about nothing. Quik is the fucking man period. Beats are lush and crisp and sound dope as fuck in my home theater system. Just good music. Some tracks were ehh and nah but overall dope.
-
Albums okay, it'll grow on me with more listens. I'd put it just above Trauma, only because the songs kinda fit together more.
-
^^^
I got no problem with Kurupts "rambling" style about nothing. It's (one of) his styles. I'm looking forward to the Kurupt album with Mel-Man and Fred Wreck.
When it has some rhyme pattern to it yeah it is cool at times. The one song he did with Short Khop is a perfect example for me of him just throwing some shit together for the sake of a collabo. I will have to find that track, but anyways yeah fans of the Kingpin lyrical assassin Kurupt will HATE this album. Yeah a album with Wreck and Mel Man and say Muggs or Pete Rock N Premo I think will evoke some lyrical darts from Gotti 4 sho.
-
blaqkout
do you know
ohh!
fuck ya'll
hey playa (moroccan blues)
the appeal
^^
my favourite tracks.
the first track "blaqkout" is sampled from an old house/dance track from like 1999. i cant remember the name of the song.
"ohh!" has got a very catchy beat. i think this song would suit club and radio play. they could maybe use this song as a single.
i'll definately be pickin up this album. gotta support westcoast artists who put out good music like this.
-

Mel Man and Fred Wreck??? Woh! I missed the news on this one?
-
I gotta say it, Exodus is growing on me.
-
I wish they would make a crazy extended version of Cream N Ya Panties...they keys are so damn funky....like on some max middletion shit.
-
really smooth album...perfect for the summer
-
link please
-
I like every track. I enjoy the skit too. The only one I don't feel as much as the others is Ohh!
The Appeal is dope, it gets hella better towards the middle.
-
GO OUT AND SUPPORT JUNE 9TH !!
-
WILL BE LOOKIN' FOR THIS ALBUM WHEN IT DROPS.. BUT THAT "OHH" BEAT IS NUTZ...... I LIKES SO FAR.....
-
It's better than I first I thought....I fuck wit 8 or 9 tracks out of the 13 that's not bad.....I hope the Terrace Martin and Kurupt Collabo is better tho.
-
This is such a good laid back style cd. Upon first listen I thought some of the songs would be something Nate Dogg would tear up. Only song I didn't really get into was "Ohh!" probably because the beat sounds a lot like Soulja Boy's "Kiss me through the phone".
-
Im starting to like Jupiters Critic :o
-
My review:
BlaQKout - Smooth production on this one here, it has a bit of an old school sound to it. Quik has a knack for intros. 5/5
Cream N Ya Panties - That screaming thing that played at the beginning bugged the fuck outta me at first, but I got used it. This track has a Rhythm-al-ism sound to it. 4/5
Do You Know - This track has a summertime mood to it. Perfect timing. 4/5
Watcha Wan Do - This song is listenable, but its not the best track.. its an average track. It has an Indian sound to it. 3/5
Ohh! - Not the best track either but its also listenable. It sounds like a watered down Do You Know. 3.25/5
Fuck Ya'll - Great track. Has a bit of a Rhythm-al-ism sound to it as well. Chorus is good. Quik disses his Skanless crew, Hi-C, AMG, KK & D. 4/5
Hey Playa! (Moroccan Blues) - A standout track in a good way. The use of the sample is dope, it gets in the way at first during the first verse but soon mixes its way into the song. 4.25/5
Exodus - Catchy track here, there are no verses really. It may not appeal at first, but it grows after each listen. It definitely can make ya bounce. 4/5
9x Outta 10 - This track is very minimalist. It's basically an unusual drum beat with singing melodies playing the background. But it works. Kurupt spits pretty crazy on this. It may not appeal at first, but it grows after each listen. Definitely a stand-out track. 5/5
Jupiter's Critic and the Mind of Mars - Reminds me of a bit of 80's electro-hop music. This is a very techno-ish track. This also may not appeal at first, but it will grow on you. 4.5/5
The Appeal - One of the best tracks on the album. It has a mellow feel to it. It gets real good towards the middle. 5/5
Problem: The B Stands for Beautiful (Skit) - Just a skit of Kurupt talking about how bitch to him means beautiful. I got a kick out of it. But I'm not going to grade it.
Watcha Wan Do (Alternate Version) - I honestly can't hear much of a difference. It's still listenable but it's not really needed. 3/5
I can actually listen to em all. No cuts to make for me. 13/13.
4.25/5
Not bad at all. 8)
-
The album is growing on me more and more after each listen, what a nice collection for the summer. I knew Kurupt and Quik would come through!
-
reminds me of a suga free track...believe he woulda ripped it much more
-
album is nice, and as i continue to listen i like it even more..
-
me too, getting better and better ;D
-
After track 7 there's nothing for me, except "The Appeal", it's like they had to put it there to save the second part of this short album.
-
Yeah I knew about the Fred Wreck album, and I searched the forums on here, but we all know the search engine on this forum is completeley useless...
-
very dope album.
-
After first listen, this album is pretty good. Definitely could've been better. I don't like Hey Playa! or either version of Whatcha Wan Do. They should've ended the album with a better song. Don't like the skit either. All the other tracks are pretty good though. I'll still buy it. What's up with Quik dissing AMG, HI-C, and 2nd II None? Hope it's not long term. Tight song though.
3.75/5
-
I can't stand when Kurupt does that whisper rap flow.. ruins the song bad. At least he didn't do that shit in Do You Know or 9X's out of 10.
-

KURUPT & PROBLEM (June 2008) | Interview By: Nima Etminan
http://www.dubcnn.com/interviews/kurupt-problem/
Dubcnn: So you just mentioned a project with Pete Rock and DJ Premier. In the last interview you said the Dogg Pound were doing an album with Pete Rock. Are those different projects?
Kurupt: The Dogg Pound project with Pete Rock is gonna be all produced by Daz and Pete Rock, the whole album. Then I got a Kurupt album that I'ma do with Pete Rock and DJ Premier. Then I got a Kurupt solo album that I'm doing with Bink, and I got another album solo wise with Fredwreck doing the production. That's my new thing, getting with producers to do the entire project that they oversee. I have four of them in the works, one with Bink ("Girls All Pause, "Trilogy"), one with Fredwreck, one with Pete Roc/Premier, and I got one that Snoopy is doing "Niggarachi presents Kurupt The Kingpin" and that album is gonna be overseen by Snoop, Teddy Riley and DJ Quik.
Dubcnn: Now let me recap real quick. You said one album with Fredwreck, I think that one is called "History Of Violence"?
Kurupt: History Of Violence, oh boy!!
Chad I believe it is the 2nd to last or the last Dogg Pound interview Kurupt mentions working with Mel Man and Fred Wreck.

Got it;
http://www.dubcnn.com/cgi-bin/coranto/searchnews.pl?dosearch
In related news, Kurupt has already started working on his next solo album which is still untitled.
He's putting it out on the major market through Snoop's Doggystyle Records at the end of the year (Snoop also took over the executive producer role).
So far they recorded 6 songs, the first 3 songs are produced by Fredwreck and the other 3 are produced by Mel-Man.
-
I'm suprised not many people are liking Exodus, it's one of my favorite tracks on the album even if there aren't any verses on it.
-
Exodus is a great track! But the vocals are shit. Without the vocals it could be a great instrumental.
-
Also someone should tell Quik to let you be able to add the songs on myspace since he has them on his page now!
