Title: UK folx... you'd better...
Post by: Don Seer on September 08, 2005, 01:52:05 AM
Fill up the tank if you have a car..

More solid rumours of fuel blockades starting next Wednesday (14th) at 6am a'la year 2000

Thank god I can last a few weeks on a full tank if i'm careful.. and if need be I can walk to work or drag my marin out from retirement..  however... if everyone stops driving my fuel economy will go up :D

Things must be bad... my dad has commuted from here to Exeter for the last 15 or so years
a daily round trip of abot 80 miles or so. As of monday this week he's been taking the train down as it will now work out a lot cheaper.

The average prices across the country is 94.2p a litre (thats $1.75 a litre in US money)

yeah i couldn't drive in 2000.. found it funny at the time.. i work right near a petrol station and at lunchtimes it was mayhem in there.. i remember it being doctor's and police only allowed to fill up.

i'm going to fill mine right up on the way home tonight before the rush starts.. although i expect since the rumours are growing it will start a bit of a panic

yes in part.. but they've been bad for a while...

prices have risen loads lately.. these changes affect the haulage industry in a bad way. they're expected to maintain static pricing for hauling goods BUT fuel prices are going up and up.. and they're being outpriced by hauliers that live on the continent. the people organising this are called"the fuel lobby" and are mostly made up of hauliers and farmers.

The fuel prices seem to keep rising and rising. I remember it too a few years back when everyone was struggling to get petrol. Crazy if it happens again.
