R&B from the mid to late 90s is the best, as with rap music too IMO. It might be better to start listening to R&B with rap in the beginning, so you get used to it, and then you can branch off from there. One of my favorite tracks like that is LL Cool J and Boyz II Men - "Hey Lover." That is a really dope song. You can also check Tony Toni Tone, Tyrese, R. Kelly (Mid to late 90s again), Montell Jordan, Donell Jones (Really solid artist), and Blackstreet (I REALLY recommend the album "Another Level".) Also West coast cats like Nate Dogg, TQ, and Butch Cassidy, but I'm assuming you're already listening to them ;)

Ruben Studdard
Were you joking or are you serious? I've not heard Ruben's CD, and I'm not being critical of your choice, but if his CD really is good I'd want to pick it up.
Anyway I heard the guy that stated the thread say he wanted some female artists so I gotta go with the greatest, in my opinion, Aretha Franklin.
