Good discography, longevity & I have been a fan since '95/'96...
Makes Jigga one of that last men still standing from a great era.
So I'll say some loyalty is involved aswell. (As a fan)

No one in rap has had longevity and been as consistent in releasing music that has garnered a significant audience, both critically and publicly, while making money.    Diddy has been consistent as a business man.  Nas has been, more or less, consistent as an artist of hip-hop but his entrepreneur skills were never like Jay's.   This only matters for an art form like hip-hop because it's rare.  Dr.Dre (in hibernation due to his own fears but at the same time gives a tremendous amount back to hip-hop) and Snoop Dogg (who done fell off) are still around.

With that said, most of that is bullocks and doesn't matter.  I like Jay for his music.  Particularly, Reasonable Doubt, Blueprint, Black Album, Kingdom Come, and American Gangster.  I wasn't feel the Carter series or Bluperint 2 all that much.

Jay-Z is dope.  He's got a pretty sick catologue of albums and songs over the past decade+....Hes in my top 5, theres not many dudes that can hold it down album for album with Hov IMO

Fuck a jay-z. It was obvious hes not real when he pulled that "im quitting" publicity stunt. Lost all respect for him when he did that shit.

black album and blueprint were wack overall

"brooklyns finest" with biggie was fresh

reasonable doubt is a solid album...not a CLASSIC, but a very solid album.  kind of like chino XL's "here to save you all" - it was one banger away from being a classsic i'd say.

i'll take a new Jay-Z album, even a Kingdom Come or American Gangster over 90% of the rest of rap.

nobody is trying to say Jay is the GOAT, well here anyway.

but he has such a legendary disco. & has been a legendary icon in not just rap, but music.

everybody else who came from back in the day gets that bullshit "the impact he made" pass, which improves their legacy, why can't Jay get that?

it's probably because he is the oldest guy left still doing it big on the radio & he is in commercials, etc.

ok maybe not the board but its the fact tht people will say jay is a goat or very close to it

Legendary disco?....how so
RD-classic album
In my life volume 1-ehhh
vol 2-have that album and dont think its that good
vol3- overall not a great album but does have sum real good songs
Dynasty-didnt like it
blueprint-classic
blueprint 2- complete trash
black album- arguable classic
kingdome come- ok album at best to me
american gangster- ok album again but had terrible replay value

with the amount of album the guy has i wouldent say this is a legendary disco...yes he got a ton of classic songs but he also got a ton of wack songs

any 11 album disco. with 3 classic, some solid albums, some average albums & 1 trash album is on some legendary status.

& just because you "didn't like it", that doesn't mean it's good or bad, because it just wasn't for you; but for other fans it was a solid/good album.

I'm still crackin'
I will not lose, I simply refuse
I drop the same date as the Twin Towers
I show power
still I show compassion for others
sent money and flowers
Devote hours
I live in the struggle
I'm addicted to the hustle
I'm conflicted because, dude
America, this land of mine
is filled with prisoners
with the same plans as mine
So I'm a walking contradiction
on one hand I love my position
but easily I could have been in that prison
And no, I am not a Christian
though I believe in God
But I don't believe in the devil
My beliefs are odd
If we the people was given freewill from God
How could He give the people freewill
Without giving you E-vil?
We will hold it together
Believe in the Roc
Long after you leave the spot
Long after my breathing stops
My spirit remains vibrant
I will lead the flock
And that's the tip of the iceberg
You might hear Christ's words in my scriptures
But I only write it for my niggas

Yeah! Nigga, I can make four more albums off memory
Ya'll ain't ever going to be better then me, I'm a do this until I'm eighty

Everybody want to rhyme like Hov'
'cause I rhyme like, I be rhymin' in the Rove', rhymin' in them, HO!
Ma like the diamond will blind you at the show
I don't shine, I glow, I remind you of that dough
Don't I? Did I? Hustle the game? Just the thought alone
Give me a boner, coach caved into a coma
Can't out hustle a hustla
You can't out play a player, this rap shit is a lay-up
In my former buis' motherfuckers will spray ya
In the music buis' motherfuckers, just say stuff
Spit on ya sprayer, niggaz just play tough
When the camera's on, when the camera's gone
Niggaz wanna set up meetings
'Cause they know most likely when I see 'em, I'm a set up a beatin'
Windows no tints, cars, no rims
That's because we handle ours, like grown men
I ain't touch ya wheels, since I drove the Ben'
That's 'cause it was a Coupe, nah I ain't suit
I'm just telling the truth, you Tom Cruise
You can't handle it, handle it, nigga is what I do
I try to be modest, on "Blueprint 2"
Y'all don't respect modest, y'all respect my dollars
You gotta believe, I think like an artist
But my bills through the roof, can't do numbers like The Roots
(Oh No) No disrespect, I be trying to disconnect
But niggaz keep pulling me back in, trapped in
My pops gotta live wit this order, my whole live in disordered
And I just got his living room ordered
And you wanna why the chip on my shoulders
Is more like a brick or a boulder, you understand maybe, when you get older
Got a hundred niggaz on ya dick, saying you oughta
Record like this or what have you, nigga's is back stabbing you
Bitches mad at you, 'cause they can't have you
Press wanna know about the daughter of Matthew
Now it's back to the hood again, all Black hood again
Back to old lady saying, what I could of been
Back to the gats, you forgot, I'm real good with them
They gon' put a nigga in jail, oh well

I'm the one!
I'm not the two, not the three, not the four, the five
I take the pain from my life, pour it all inside
Take my strain and my strife, take my ego and pride
Used it to kick down the door, brought my people inside
And I hope you, ain't think I wrote this
To entertain you, that ain't what I came to do
I will bang you, I will act like orangutan's do
I give you hot wings, turn niggaz to angels
Understand my angle, I'm safety first
Don't make me act, like the safety don't work
Tough niggaz get it the worst, I'm begging you come for us
I'm giving motherfuckers, dirt com-forters
Night! Night! Nigga, take a dirt nap
