Anyone else find those numbers disappointing? Kinda low in my opinion.
-
ppl don't got the capacity to fuck wit em
-
Trunk Muzik 0-60 sold 75.000 till this nov, so for the 1st week 41k not too bad.

yea but you figured with the Shady hype, this would have done more. Look at the numbers guys like Big Sean & Wale did. I figured Yelawolf would do close to those numbers.

lol what the hell is 75.000? Where did you find that number?

Damn they gotta be disappointed in that, glad he got to drop his album though. Once his singles start picking up he should be aite, slow burner this one

yeah hopefully they will continue to promote the album
-
damn. LOL. wiz khalifa sold more than this kid. y'all know em ain't gonna let this boy get as big as him.
-
What a failure.
-
I'm not surprised. Trunk muzik sold only 5k first week. Consider the fact they didn't promote this album at all.
-
is this Yelawolf-album worth the time?
i liked that Lil Jon-featured single/video. similar type of music on the album?
i dont really like his rappin style i guess, but maybe im sleepin. that single is on rotation in my ipod rite now tho

yes but not suprising. imo dude is wack and i can't get jiggy wit his music. that hard white remix was dope though.
-
Not surprising. Trunk music was 10x's better than this garbage. He failed with this album. BTW speaking about sales.....did we ever get Knoc's ville sales numbers???

Listen to trunk muzik instead, it's much better. The album is really good for about six songs, then all of a sudden every song has a poppy hook sung by females, like recovery. Yela still kills it, but the hooks are really bad

like i really can't into white rappers too much. but sean boog is the best white boy on the mic period. mac miller is aight.
-
Jaydc hit it spot on about the LP. Shit hooks for the most part, a few good songs but the second half is dire. Trunk Musik was dope.

lmao wikipedia links aren't reliable, especially when the number there isn't a real number. If it was real it would be sourced.
-
I didn't even know dude had an album out.
-
I was wrong, I thought he would do Mac Miller numbers, those numbers succ for shady, I thought that cypha would help him. But y'all are right about those hooks.I think they turned some em fans off, thinking he's trying to be like em yell
-
damn. LOL. wiz khalifa sold more than this kid. y'all know em ain't gonna let this boy get as big as him.
Yeah.. I'm sure that's exactly what Eminem's plan was...
Step 1: Invest into forming your own record label
Step 2: Sign and promote artists
Step 3: Hope that they fail out of fear they will get bigger than you
-
He could of sold close to another 100,000 copies if they had a decent lead, catchy, mainstream single to go with. They just didn't.
-
he dropped down to 12k his 2nd week

"Let's Roll" might catch on once the video drops, and I can see that "Made In The USA" joint being annoyingly stuck on radio
-
This purely has to do with him not having a single on the radio. I've never heard Yela once on the radio, and I live in LA where they don't only play the top 40 shit on the radio.
Big Sean, Wale, J.Cole all had HUGE singles, so to compare Yela to them is absolutely pointless. Even Mac Miller has tracks on the radio, despite being unsigned.
Obviously, Interscope dropped the ball a bit and likely thought just cause he was signed to Shady and was the first solo artist to be released on the label in about 5 years (I'm not counting 50 as he's Aftermath), that he would sell straight off net buzz.
Big mistake on not pushing radio singles.
-
Since when has Mac miller been unsigned? He's on the same label as wiz khalifa.
-
Okay, I meant he's not signed to a major. Rostrum is some tiny label in Pittsburgh.
-
record sales are never going to be what they used to be in the past ive been around since the 90's in this game and the numbers are not even close anymore because most peeps download the albums now for free not all people but most and it gets worse an worse every year technology has takin over! haha even the big rap stars cant make big numbers anymore that was the past. i like yela hes got original shit and got sick rap skillz and even though he moved to Shady yeh it might of helped him get noticed more and better promotion but it dont matter the game is watered down...... that actually goes for all music though not just hip hop everyone downloads now days lol even movies now more and more its a wrap your gonna see your favorite actor or music artist right next to you working in the future lol
-
The more i listen to this the better it gets.
A lot of rappers should take note this is how you make a good mainstream album .
There may be a fair few sung hooks but between those hooks r some dope lyrics and themes.

LOL @ justifying record sales for this album being a failure.

LOL @ justifying record sales for this album being a failure.
I'm really feelin' this album. But it's a white rapper, signed by Eminem, backed by him & his label. 41,000 is just unacceptable.

Em will always sell but not necessarily his side projects
Bad Meets Evil is around 650k, not bad in todays world but you would think it would have done better considering he's all over the album

True. But I think any Shady related project should do at least 100K.
