The creators of controversial cartoon series SOUTH PARK have blasted bosses of their US TV network Cartoon Central for blanking an image of MOHAMMED during an episode, following threats of violence from Muslim fundamentalists. Just weeks after the TV executives enraged MATT STONE and TREY PARKER by refusing to air a repeat of their controversial 2005 Scientology episode, the pair were further annoyed when an Islam-related episode was censored. Comedy Central president DOUG HERZOG has since admitted that TV executives may have "over-reacted" but Stone and Parker are still upset by the decision to doctor their show. Parker says, "If you're saying that this is the one thing we can't do, besides Tom Cruise, because they're threatening violence, well, then, I guess that's what everyone should do. "If the Catholics don't want us ripping on Jesus anymore, they should just threaten violence, and they'll get their way." Stone adds, "It's just an image and it's harmless. I was absolutely sure that Comedy Central would have let us do that because of our track record. It was just kind of disappointing because we thought we could do something really important."

Agreed a complete overreaction, if these guys were sensitive towards other religions or groups i would have a different opinion but these guys clearly take the piss out of everything. It's a shame that south park has become so crap though!

LOL@Muslims threatning violence over showing Mohammed in "South Park" :grumpy:. This sounds IDENTICLE to the show they did about "Family Guy" called "Cartoon Wars"...This news isn't recent, is it? Because they do a show about pretty much everything controversial they're involved in, and the show about this topic aired about a month ago...What episode was this that had a blanked image of Mohammed?
PS...LMAO@anyone who thinks "South Park" fell off...It's probably the most consistant show I know of. ::)

Muslims have always used violence or the threat of violence in the Middle East to intimidate and subjugate other groups. Now they are doing the same thing here in the US, Netherlands, etc

If God is up there somewhere the only thing I'd ask him to do would be send several super powered lightning bolts and destroy every major temple made in his name at the same time. The Vatican, Mecca, Jerusalem, boom. That would make these fuckers think twice about what they pretend to believe in.
