only a person that generalizes see all muslims as terrorists, and i can even see it from the muslim perspective of being a freedom fighter for their cause.
so i can't blame iraqis for fighting back against the US forces, but i can call the ones that plant bombs near employment lines and kill members of their own community as a way to get back at the US, terrorists.

People don't really care that much. I can walk around all day in a thobe and a kufi and nobody will say anything to me and nobody will bother me. It's really just a tool the media uses to sell newspapers and the government uses to rob the treasury.

That's because you're white, and most racist whites will peg you as a lunatic rather than a terrorist. I have friends here in Toronto with the last name Hussein, and while they get absolutely no hassel here, since my area is about 10% white, 10% arab, 10% Sri Lanken, 25% black, and 40% chinese, and 5% other, the family tried to go visit relatives in detroit and where turned around at the border with out explanation. I can only imagine what they may have gone through if they lived on the other side of the border.

Your intellect is to abbreviated to realize that even in the Caucus Mountains (where all white people are said to have origionated), even this region is inhabited primarily by white Muslims. I could go on, Albania, Bosnia, these are countries with millions of white Muslims. In America we have thousands of white Muslim converts. Allah has said in the Qu'ran that there is no preference in skin color, we are all one single brotherhood, and the only thing that makes one Muslim exceed another Muslim is his piety and Allah consciousness.

Im not ignorant when I say you can't speak on that because youre white, because Im not ignorant to the fact that there are white muslims in the world. YOU, however, are ignorant to the fact that white muslims arent stereotyped the way regular, arab-looking muslims are.
Face it. As much as you want to belong to another ethnic, you will never be them. You should rather be proud of what you are, then trying to be something you are really not. I say that as a friend.

Let me tell you this, Religion doesnt know a color. Because hes muslim doesnt mean he wants to be arabic. Thats really ignorant to say that. There are black, white, arabic. asian muslims. There are muslims from every nationality. People need to stop looking how some one looks from the outside, its far more important how a person is from the inside.

Man, you still make no sense. Read the thread title! He asked if any of us Muslims in America had been getting stereotyped. He didn't ask if any of us "Arabs" were getting stereotyped. I'm a Muslim and I live in America, so I answered his question. I said that I, personally, had not faced any persecution. So again, what is your point?

No doubt... 7even is so caught up in his own little world, he's one of those guys who thinks all Muslims are Arab. Arab's only make up 13% of the Muslim worlds population. 7even is so uncultured he probably doesn't even know the difference between an Afgan, an Indian and an Arab. The largest Muslim country is not even near the middle east, it is in Indonesia. And like the brother was saying, the white Chechan Muslims were labeled "terrorists" decades before 9-11, and the white Muslims of Bosnia also were caught up in their own struggle. Islam has no race, I'm sorry if that bothers some people. Really, the masjid (mosque) a few miles from me is the most diverse place in the whole city.

What's right infront of me is your seriously limited worldview. Let me attempt to widen your narrow perspective. First of all, there have been white Muslims persecuted in America (major media even reported recently about the Lawyer who was arrested cause they alledged he was sending money to "terrorists" in Spain, charges were later dropped, or the college basketball player who was had to endure so much harrasment from the University and fans she could no longer play on the team).
I was speaking about my personal situation saying that I hadn't faced any persecution. Then you tried to use that as another futile attempt to insult me by spelling out my race. The problem is, my race doesn't limit me, and that bothers you because you are so limited by your racial complex.
Let's assume that I was influenced by the art of hip-hop. They say the word is powerful, and they say that a talented mc can imagine things in his rhyme and make himself and the listener view themselves from a perspective that may be somewhat foriegn to them, but a great mc can make what is foriegn feel as near as the jugular vien. So if hip-hop had a role in influencing me towards things that normally would have seemed distant, then so be it.
I've had people not like me because they said I took sports too seriously, I've had people dislike me cause they said I didn't care about anything, or that I was disrespectful, then later I had people not like me because they told me hip-hop was not for suburban white kids, now I have some who don't like my dress because they say it's too Arabs, or that my behavior is too self-righteous, or whatever. Really, the truth is I'm not limited by racial and cultural prejudice. Anything beautiful I come across in life that I feel can benefit me and encourage growth, I add a piece of it to my own life, without worrying about what other people think.
I'm sorry that bothers you, but that just shows how lame and superficial you are, get up off me!
