i dont like how people consider it "chicano" rap, id juz rather think its juz a westcoast track/artist. unless its in spanish. racism is fading but has a way to go.
i mean obviously theres goood rappers and bad ones. mr. shadow, mr. capone-e, brownside, shaft gangsta click, lighter shade of brown. n all that but like any rapper if u dont have the right delivery, or you sound like a fucking nerd spittin on a beat you shouldnt be rappin.
like the foo that dissed snoop, he sounded so chunte u cant understand wtf hes sayin. bisah is a big fail.

the stronger the accent and spanish sound the less appealing it seems to be, even with slang hip hop was and is about being creative with the words in the english vocabulary and sometimes or most times its hard for a esl person to pull that off i guess but i have noticed some improvement from what use to get played out here in la. the way they use to sample all those real old oldies, not the soul cuts but the daddy's home type shit and just rap on em use to kill me

if omar cruz can some how get all latinos across the u.s. to support him then the movement will be official the new market will be born and all them other rappers will just have to follow suit - as long as they step there game up and be on omar cruz's level lyrically & musically 8)

he needs famous artists and producers to support him, and the latinos would support him because theyd be seeing him on tv all the time. latinos dont support him now because they dont know who the fuck he is

not all of them are stuck on that chicano sound alot of them grew up on hip hop east coast west coast dirty south midwest just plain and simple hip hop the only thing is that they are chicano and are not gonna mis represent there culture and race in anyway 8)

Fingazz: When I did "Lean Like A Cholo" -- I work with a lot of Chicano artists, but I never done anything that sounded like that. We talked about it. I said "You wanna do something different and make you stand out? And maybe get a look for a Chicano artist in the clubs?" He was like "Yea I'm down, let's do it." I told him I'd still keep it a little west coast and we're gonna try to do it. We did the whole album, trying to approach it differently and try to create a new sound for a Chicano artist. It worked.

i think the hope is in the new breed of chicano rap.. cats like, berretta , annimean., hectic, foxwest, mdk ect .. thats where the real change is gonna come from.... 8)
