Hahaha, plus 1 to both of you!

Well, FTP's project is out... Nothing can change that now.
I guess if people really want to start putting together a semi-realistic project, don't forget "Who Wants To Fuck Tonight (OG)"
-
haha thanks man. I can't wait to hear what all those people who said this would never leak have to say.
-
Too bad the DRF / LSN native version and the tracks from Too Gangsta 4 Radio 2 weren't leaked, it'd be nice to combine them all together to a more complete project.
-
poor Crooked...all that hard work gets leaked for free
i would still go and buy the album if it was put out somehow

Make sure to drop to voice this to Wide Awake. They want to know what fans want.
They know these projects are have been bootlegged, but need to hear from people that there is still interest for the COMPLETE project. Not a bootlegged "EP".
-
holy shit :o i can't believe it, someone hook up the tracklist. I too would buy it if were legitly put up for sale

BTW: Just because I have to, fans will know right off the bat, obviously, "Take The Title", "So Damn Hood (Solo)" and a few others were NOT meant for SHTTBG.
-
who/what is wide awake and how much does thhis differ from the og SHTTBG?
-
no way is this real
-
Wasn't there like 2 versions of SHTTBG or was that Untouchable?
-

There are several tracks missing from the REAL version of the album, this also has multiple tracks that are not from the album at all. Don't be fooled, there are tracks from it on here, but this isn't the real thing.
-
Wasn't there like 2 versions of SHTTBG or was that Untouchable?
I believe there were 2 recordings of both actually...
-
ohhhhhh fuckkkkkkk
this shit is fuckin insane
even tho this is not the real/full album...
ill still buy this shit if it drops officially
-

Interesting. Would like to know what the official tracklist looked like for SHTTBG.

I do not believe a finalized tracklisting exists, but there are tracks that were spoken of for many years that would have ended up on it.
-
thanks GB. saved me the hassle of uploading it
props to the homie who hooked it up!

Didn't SHTTBG have an actual release date? I figured they would've had a tracklist when they were promoting it?

It DID a few times, but kept getting pushed back. It was actually available for pre-order on Amazon. However, I've been told by many people that there was not a finalized tracklisting. I do believe though that the only person who truly knows what would have appeared on the project is Crooked.

with those numerious interviews you think someone would have asked him >:( So is another group also releasing a version of this?

Who knows... I do want to hear the rest, but I hope people can control themselves now so we can get a good release from WIDEAwake (the new owners of the Death Row catalog) in the future.
-
How long do you think until Shorty-O decides to start selling this?
-
+1 to Gangsta Boogy & Al Bundy. 8)

There are tracks on the LSN project that still haven't leaked though.

Ok now Here's my review for the bootleg FTP Crooked I Project. I call it a bootleg project because this is in no way Say Hi To The Bad Guy.
01] Crooked I - Hood Star (OG) feat. Tamara Savage – Similar beat to the version released by Wide Awake, but with more bass. Different adlibs from Crook and Tamara 4/5
02] Crooked I - I’m So Crooked – Gangsta track, you already know! 5/5
03] Kurupt - Boss Me Up feat. Roscoe, Eastwood, Tri Star & Crooked I – Sounds like they had a Crooked I acapella of the wake up show freestyle and just pasted that over the beat of the track, I thought this because at the end of Tri-Star's verse he is cut halfway through his speach and it doesnt sound right. A bad attempt of the transition between the artists. Also sounded like it was a Kurupt track, maybe a throw away track from Against the grain. 2/5
04] Eastwood - La La feat. Crooked I – This song is actually better described as being Eastwood featuring Crooked I since East does the first two verses and the hook and Crooked only does the third verse. Probably could’ve been a single on an Eastwood album. 3/5
05] Crooked I - So Damn Hood (OG Hutch Version) feat. Sisqo – Ah yes, the version we all heard on Hot 97 back in the day. So much better than the Darren Vegas version. This version has more bass and generally the beat just sounds fuller. 5/5
06] Crooked I - Take The Title feat. Eastwood & Gangxta Ridd – Great Track, I like the beat, although its the same verse from Hood Near You it still sounds hot, It does has some different adlibs though. Overall Nice diss track to Lennox Lewis. 4/5
07] Kurupt - Suge’s West Coast feat. Eastwood, Crooked I & Ray-J – Doesnt really sound like a Crooked I album track, Maybe a Kurupt track. I didnt really like it. 3/5
08] Ray-J, Eastwood, Michel’le, Crooked I & Spider Loc - Lil Youngstaz – Good Track, I liked it. Dunno if this was a Crooked track though, Sounds like it was maybe a Dysfunktional Family throw away. 5/5
09] Crooked I - Bitch feat. Too Short, Ray-J, Eastwood & Virginya Slimm – I like the track, Kinda reminds me of Snoop when I hear it, dont know why though! 4/5
10] Crooked I - So Damn Hood (OG Hutch Version, Solo) – Same production as the version with Sisqo. Crooked does the hook, It’s pretty obvious it was just a placeholder for a singer although its still dope to listen to. 4/5
11] Eastwood - House Party feat. Crooked I & Ray-J – Again this doesnt sound like a track from a Crooked I album, more like an Eastwood track! Still a good song though. 4/5
12] Crooked I - Dollas In My Hand – We all know this wasnt ment for Say Hi To The Bad Guy so I dont know why it was thrown in like most of these tracks. Still a classic Crooked club track. Also dont know why there is a minute's worth of music at the end of the track, they should of just faded it. 4/5
13] Kurupt - Frontline feat. Eastwood, Crooked I, Roscoe, Virginya Slimm & Tri Star – Great Track, although this also sounds like a Kurupt track, Maybe this is where all the Crooked I features on Against The Grain went lol 4/5
14] Crooked I - Gangsta Rap (OG) feat. Tha Dogg Pound – How many times has this song been mixed now?? Still a good track. 4/5
15] Ray-J, Eastwood, Crooked I & Gangxta Ridd - Me & My Dogg (R.I.P. Buntry) (OG) – Great track, Dont know if this would of been on Say Hi To The Bad Guy but I would of been happy regardless. 5/5
Overall, the music to listen to is like a 4/5.
FTP Really messed up when they released this, maybe a rushed project to see as much profit as possible, They obviously have more tracks for other compilations. Either way this may be the only way we ever get to hear this music unless WideAWAKE comes through and they looking pretty good atm with the Death Row Sampler being released and all.
Its just a shame that the music had to come out like this but Im grateful I got to listen to it regardless. Not what I expected after the years of waiting for Say Hi To The Bad Guy.

Think you talking bout these tracks??? Half are only radio drops and the others are already on the project!
Im So Crooked
Bitch
Who Wants To Fuck Tonite (ALT)
So Damn Hood (Remix)
The B-Side
Felli Fel
Fantastic Four
and than Hood Star Leaked!!
Well, FTP's project is out... Nothing can change that now.
I guess if people really want to start putting together a semi-realistic project, don't forget "Who Wants To Fuck Tonight (OG)"
Wasnt that released on Dysfunktional Family with Danny Boy?? So its not really ment for this project like Dollars in my hand, Gangsta rap ect.

The OG version with Ray J instead of Danny Boy is said to have been originally planned for SHTTBG back in the day. Then it went to Dysfunktional Family instead. The only reason I believe that it was for SHTTBG is because I remember hearing about this track before Dysfunktional Family dropped. This is only what I've been told though, I can not promise this as fact.
By the way, I didn't count the drops as SHTTBG tracks, cause they are just promotional joints for the radio. I also didn't count "Hood Star" cause I didn't count it as a leak, WIDE Awake released that for free. Also didn't count "So Damn Hood (Remix)" since that been leaked for bout 7 years now. So I figured everyone had that anyway.
Also, Take The Title is not a Say Hi To The Bad Guy track either, it was a Lennox Lewis diss that was going to be for Mike Tyson.
I got to be honest though when you listen to the CD, you wonder how many other songs weren't meant for SHTTB, some of these sound like unreleased Kurupt if you ask me.
There's a whole list of Crooked I tracks that haven't been released yet, I think we have only seen the tip of the iceberg.
-
Oh by the way, that So Damn Hood without Sisqo is dope. 8)

no they're not...who cares about wideawake and who cares about ftp......eventually this shit will drop and whatever leaks on this dubcnn will have no effect on the fact. wideawake already invested about 20 million on the deathrow catalouge so they're commited to releasing everything either way.
christmas came early this year so lets just enjoy
-
ha ftp banned me so they must be on here 24/7....in that case i'll explain the fact thats the $25 they got outta me was in reality about less than $1 per sale because every person that downloads it for free will take away any future sales from them

Almost 100% positive that "Live From Tha Row" is SHTTBG. I have never heard of the other songs, but it's possible that they are named incorrectly?

For the record, that track is NOT THE OG. It's the radio edit of the DPG 2002 version of Gangsta Rap. It features a clean crooked I verse he recorded for the radio, but everything else is edited.

yea I finally like that song :) the synth at the end is also not in the sisqo version, is it?
The synth IS in the version with Sisqo, but it's a different melody and it's very low in volume. Maybe they didn't want the synth to compete with Sisqo's vocals.
The version without Sisqo is sick though, the beat is exactly what it should have been to start with.
I want to make a mix with Sisqo and Crook's hook at the same time for fun, LOL.

Almost 100% positive that "Live From Tha Row" is SHTTBG. I have never heard of the other songs, but it's possible that they are named incorrectly?
Yeah. I'm pretty sure you're right about "Live From Tha Row." And that's a good point. The track names could have been changed, I suppose. I was kind of wondering if any of the tracks on there were "Untouchable" tracks or if they were all more stuff from "SHTTBG."
-
So does the new owners of Death Row own the rights to the "Untouchable" album? Did a tracklist of that album leak? And was the original version of "Bang On Em" supposed to be on it? (the full version that never leaked)

anyone got track 14 gangsta rap og? dot want to burn it to cd til all the tracks are on it lol me and my dogg is dope btw and so damn hood sounds so much better with this version of the beat, much more bass
anyone?
For the record, that track is NOT THE OG. It's the radio edit of the DPG 2002 version of Gangsta Rap. It features a clean crooked I verse he recorded for the radio, but everything else is edited.
That's a different track. The DPG 2002 radio edit version that you're talking about isn't the one that was included on this cd. The version that is track 14 on this cd has the beat and Crooked I lyrics of the "Too Gangsta For Radio" version. But it has Daz and Kurupt's verses on there instead of Treach and Scarface.
-
Thing I noticed about the SHTTBG tracklist is that both the FTP & LSN versions are feature heavy. It's more like a compilation album. So I'm questioning if the official SHTTBG would've been as feature heavy as the bootleg we have?

Good question. I guess for now we can only speculate. I'm nearly certain that neither the LSN or the FTP versions are the final version of the album. You can tell that some of the tracks on the FTP version aren't the final mixes. (So Damn Hood obviously, among others) And there are also tracks on there that definitely weren't "SHTTBG" tracks. ("Dollas N My Hand," "Take the Title," "Gangsta Rap (OG),"). But LSN's version is also missing some tracks, according to the tracklist ("Should Have Made You My Wife," for example). My guess though is that even the final version, had it been released, would be feature-heavy. I think Suge was banking on Crooked I being his big breakout artist, and was therefore planning to feature as many of the other artists on the roster that he thought could be commercial successes. This way if the Crooked I had been well received, he might be able to "piggy-back" off it's success and more easily establish the other artists. That's why, I believe, Eastwood is so heavily featured (even to the point of having more lines than Crooked on a couple of the songs).

I reckon that although this is obviously not the final version, that the final version probably would have been feature heavy..Death Row as a label has always been more like a family and as such most of their albums have had lots of features..eg The Chronic (i know dre is mostly a producer and not a rapper) Doggfather, All Eyez on Me etc..all these albums had lots of features which I think is Death Rows style..More a movement rather than just someone releasing something solo..

After a quick search, I found this old post from Street Hop forum.
http://www.streethop.com/street-corner/14745-crooked-dpg-recordz-album-crook-me.html
This was the DPG version of Say Hi to the Bad Guy track list. Some of the tracks have leaked some haven’t
01. Nobody Understands Me
02. Crook In Me Feat. Nate Dogg
03. Titties N Ass
04. Crooks N Doggs Feat. Snoop Dogg
05. Gangstas Ride
06. Knock Knock Knock

-
I downloaded it but it says the ZIP file is corrupt and it won't extract :-\
anybody got another link? props to GB though for the hook up
-
the other thing about Say Hi To The Bad Guy, was that it was going to have other features on it besides people on Death Row. Scarface, Treach, Nas, and Jadakiss were featured on tracks. "Bitch" w/Too Short and "Who Wants To Fuck Tonight" w/Ja Rule were supposed to be on Say Hi To the Bad Guy.
By the way, after listening to some of these tracks that are leaking, no one has mentioned that Ray J killed all of the tracks he was on. I wonder if he recorded an album's worth of material while he was rolling with them.
-
im confused is this worth listining too, and is this really say hi to the bad guy?!?!?
I don't think so, sounds like the tracks was just thrown together. Maybe Crooked I will hear about this leak and speak on it.
-
yeah im guessin he recored more than a albums worth wit tha row (ray j that is)

I agree. I was actually surprised by how good Ray J made some of these songs sound. I also didn't realize he had recorded material for this many tracks while he was with Tha Row. Especially since I'm not sure he was even officially signed with the label.

I'm thinking that you're almost certainly right about every track you mentioned except "House Party" and "So Damn Hood (OG)." And you might be right about them too, but I'm not as sure. It could be that "So Damn Hood (OG)" was at one time intended to be included on "Untouchable." I'm thinking though that by the time they decided to scrap the "Untouchable" album in favor of "Say Hi to the Bad Guy," and then had Daren Vegas remix it, that the OG version probably would have just remained unreleased. But you never know.

Major props to Gangsta Boogy! Album is fuckin dope! Cant belive it finnally came out...Cant wait to give it a proper spin in my car with a system 8)

I didn't waste my time downloading that one. Its just the radio version of the one from DPG 2002.

I been sayin it for years - Ray J is dope as fuck! Especially when he's doin collabos with West Coast artist so he can be himself. Check out "Play Too Much" by B-Legit featuring Ray J.
But yeah, his features on "Suge's West Coast", "House Party", and "Me & My Dogg" are amazing.

No it's not. It's yet another version. Edited 2002 version is basically a clean version with a new Crooked I verse. "FTP SHTTBG" version is basically the "TG4R" version, only with Daz and Kurupt instead of Treach and Scarface. Early on, some one assumed it would be the same version as the edited "DPG 2002," so that rumor got spread around. But that's incorrect.

I've said this before, but the new Death Row owners oughta compile the leftover tracks into a Lost Tapes format. They could have like a Lost Tapes series for each artist that has at least a full album worth of material that didn't make their own official albums. Dr. Dre, Snoop, DPG, Crooked, etc.

Crooked I and Treacherous are well aware of the situation.
By the way, yes, some of these were meant for the album and others were not. This is a compilation and that point needs to be made clear.
This is NOT Crooked I's debut project and shouldn't be marketed that way.

I just wanted people to know that, because honestly, to market this as Crooked's debut project could actually do a lot of damage if you think about it.
Yeah, I want Untouchable too, but the REAL Untouchable, not a compilation.

After listening to alot of these tracks, MAN SUGE DROPPED THE BALL. He had a dope roster, rappers and production team. Tha Row had a new sound, but it was still west coast to the fullest and other than a butchered Against The Grain and a soundtrack he did NOTHING with all that talent. >:(

yeah suge fucked up big time
his production team and artist roster was dope, and he did nuthin worth while wit the talent he had and on top of that let pappa diddy pap take this coasts shine after them years wit this weak "talent" he found in yung joc, b5, and all that wack shit

I will at least give Puff some credit, he did not stand around and do nothing. Although cookie cutter and trend happy as he operates, he has been able to keep that label afloat and still credible.
Suge on the other hand did nothing. I know this group of MCs would not have done numbers like Snoop or Pac or Dre, but they were building. The coast was looking for a label to step up and Tha Row had a perfect opportunity to do that. But for whatever reason Suge did nothing. I know the Feds was on him but he still could have still dropped quality albums like this one and made a mark.

Yeah, the 2nd generation Death Row sound still had it's own signature, but still West Coast-ish.
Crooked still works with Jim Gittum, doesn't he? IMO, Crooked+Gittum meshes quite well. Gittum can still make that signature Death Row sound that Crooked sounded good over.
Crooked+Gittum >> Crooked+Komplex

yeah i mean he or someone put the effort into makin the soundtrack they did so the talent was there and some muffuccaz was feelin it
but damn that shit fucked crooked up for life for real

I completely agree. When you hear material like this, you have to ask "what was Suge thinking?" This was probably has last real chance to do something with the label, and he totally missed his opportunity. The talent was clearly there. It's a shame.

By the way, of course Crooked still records with Jim. I don't know how recently, but Gittum appeared on "Block Obama 2". They are family anyway. Jim is Crooked's God brother.

Truthfully, I don't consider this a proper album. It's more like a compilation album that was bootlegged. It's still cool that we got these songs though, so I ain't complaining, but something tells me that the official SHTTBG album wasn't this feature heavy. I could be wrong, but this is more like a Death Row compilation than a Crooked I album.

Well I think around that timeframe Ray J was running around saying he was signed to Tha Row. I remember Suge was asked that in a interview and he said unfortunately he was not able to sign him but he was trying to. So I am sure that is why he was on alot of tracks with them.
-
yeah but IMO he has no bidness on records especially wit great rappers like crooked, but again i doubt crooked approved that and that happened without his stamp of approval and back then maybe suge convinced him
but still ray j has no talent to be on shit like this IMO
shit for the longest I thought that was a female on yukmouth's album doin the hook to his song (on godzilla) come to find out it was ray j haha

So Damn Hood (OG)
I remember there being an article on Death Row's site way back promoting "Untouchable" that had other tracks mentioned (including a couple produced by Daz)
I put "House Party" on there because Eastwood shouts him out at the beginning of the track (38 seconds in). I think of the supposed 4 Crooked I albums that were talked about being released (2 Untouchable's and 2 Say Hi 2 The Bad Guy's), I think realistically the second version of Untouchable was the closest to actually being released. It had a press release with Hutch talking about specific songs on it.
I also think "So Damn Hood" (the version without Sisqo) was meant for that album. Remember, when Suge came out, he scrapped both versions of "Untouchable" because he felt they sounded more like freestyles and not full songs. The "So Damn Hood" w/o Sisqo sounds more like a mixtape track than an album track.
yeah but IMO he has no bidness on records especially wit great rappers like crooked, but again i doubt crooked approved that and that happened without his stamp of approval and back then maybe suge convinced him

If Crooked I didn't approve of working with Ray J, I don't think Ray J would be on a whole bunch of tracks with them. Eastwood and Ray J were pretty tight back then (Ray J was on Eastwood's 1st Self Made Mixtape that he did while on Death Row). This is probably scratching the surface of how much Ray J actually worked with them. Suge was trying to get him out of his deal with Atlantic right a few months after he got out of jail. Ray J was close to getting out of his deal however dude kept running his mouth about being a blood and got his ass kicked numerous times because of it.

basically IMO he shouldnt be on there period
but i get how he ended up on alotta the traxx

I'd have rather have him on there than Sisqo, considering in '01-'02 he was still in the mainstream and Sisqo was pretty much off the scene. "House Party" would have been a huge hit if it dropped as the first single instead of "So Damn Hood"

Yeah, the 2nd generation Death Row sound still had it's own signature, but still West Coast-ish.
Crooked still works with Jim Gittum, doesn't he? IMO, Crooked+Gittum meshes quite well. Gittum can still make that signature Death Row sound that Crooked sounded good over.
Crooked+Gittum >> Crooked+Komplex
Totally agree with this post!
By the way, of course Crooked still records with Jim. I don't know how recently, but Gittum appeared on "Block Obama 2". They are family anyway. Jim is Crooked's God brother.
Do you have any idea if Gittum produced any tracks for BOSS, and how many?
Yes, Jim did tracks for BOSS, but I have no clue how many and which ones will appear on BOSS at this point in time. I think no one, but Crooked knows what the BOSS track list will look like...

basically IMO he shouldnt be on there period
but i get how he ended up on alotta the traxx
I'd have rather have him on there than Sisqo, considering in '01-'02 he was still in the mainstream and Sisqo was pretty much off the scene. "House Party" would have been a huge hit if it dropped as the first single instead of "So Damn Hood"
House Party had HUGE potential, that track is sick.
By the way to those who are wondering, I'm 90% sure that Ray J was never officially signed to Tha Row.

I don't wanna say it'd have put Death Row back on the map, but if that song had a video to it it could have been a pretty big hit.
He was rolling with Tha Row, never signed with them nor would he have been allowed because of his deal then with Atlantic

Very interesting. I figured it was older, but I guess they just wanted it to have that old school vibe. Thanks for clearing that up.
However, did they later add it to SHTTBG since it didn't appear on Dysfunktional Family?

They added it to Eastwood's stuff. The only track that I think from all this on the nearly finalized tracklisting of Say Hi is Bitch.

Okay. Thanks for posting that up. It's an interesting theory. But I have to agree with Effex that at least some of this is probably just a consipracy theory. For one, both projects are very different. There are tracks on LSN's that are not on FTP's. And vice-versa. This can be seen in the snippets of each respective project, that was posted.
Also, the material appears to have been obtained in different manners. As we all know, FTP acquired their tracks from the webmaster being the former webmaster for Death Row Records official site. While the material acquired for the LSN project was obtained due to being accidentally sold at the Death Row auction. Now I agree that it's possible that both parties were trying to cross-promote each others' projects behind the scenes. But it actually seems, from the way they were trying to leak each others' tracks, that they were actually trying to undermine the success of each others' Crooked I project. What I think is more likely is that when the webmaster for FTP was made aware that someone else was going to be selling a Crooked I cd, he then tried to put one out himself, thinking that the LSN project would hurt the value of his.
I would also agree that it's possible that DeathrowsFinest and Los Skanless could be the same person. But it would be difficult to know that for sure.
I would also agree that neither project is the official version of the cd with the finalized tracklist. For that matter, we don't even know that a finalized tracklist even exists. But it is clear that there are tracks on here that weren't recorded for this project. And there are tracks that were recorded for this project, that aren't on here. But I also don't know where people get the idea that a lot of these tracks were "Dysfunktional Family" leftovers. I think it's possible, but that would also probably be difficult to know for sure. The "Who Wants to Fuck Tonight" track was originally recorded for "SHTTBG," but was later moved to the "Dysfunktional Family" soundtrack (Crooked confirmed this in an old interview). But I'm not sure if there's any evidence to show conclusively that any of the songs on here were actually intended to be used on the "Dysfunktional Family" cd.

Okay. Maybe it does. But it says I have to register. And I don't know that it's worth it to read a single post. Especially if I don't know what the post says.

FAKE Crooked i Cd (Say Hi To The Bad Guy) has been EXPOSED (Proof inside)
The deal was, that Nino and Kilo were posting on the dubcnn forums under many various account names, creating a false hype about this new Crooked i CD so that more people would buy it, 1 from LSN, 2. from FTP (every1 not knowing there are the same people as well as 1O1/ GMG etc).
Every1 on dubcnn was weary of it to begin with, but these videos by Clint Dogg (from Kilo aka Josh aka Kilo2 aka DTG Ent. David Tanner Guinn aka DeathRowsFinest aka LSN on dubcnn.com) prove it all and exposes him and this Crooked i Cd as a SCAM.
These videos don't lie.

But I'm not sure if there's any evidence to show conclusively that any of the songs on here were actually intended to be used on the "Dysfunktional Family" cd.
i dont think anybody should take that clint dog dude too seriously......he seems like an obsessed maniac to me and more of just pure comedy if anything

Here is an "EP" that FTP (For the People) released. Basically its a lot of stuff that this dude had that was made in the same years Say Hi To The Bad Guy was recorded. Most of these tracks wouldn't have appeared on this album, and its pretty clear that some of these tracks are different artists featuring Crooked I. Anyways it's still a pretty good collection of unreleased Crooked I Death Row era tracks.
I think it's funny how hearsay and rampant speculation suddenly becomes fact when enough people keep repeating it. Lol. Look, people can have opinions on what they believe to be true. But something isn't true just because you say it is. The fact is, none of us know for sure what would have been put on the final version of "Say Hi to the Bad Guy." Maybe Crooked I could shed some light on what was recorded for what. But other than that, no one can really say with certainty.

while it's an assumption, i think its obvious that this isn't the actual tracklist of what was supposed to be put out. unless it was really supposed to be a compilation then there's no way this could be it. i could believe having a lot of features but crook would still have more verses and be the first verse more often than the 2nd or 3rd.....i'd say maybe 3-6 of these tracks would have been on the real album which is just my speculation.
nobody can say with certainty that drew peterson killed his wives but that doesn't mean 99% of country wouldn't put their money on it

yeah drew said he didnt do it

Agree and Disagree. I completely agree that this isn't the exact album that Crooked I would have put out. "Dollas N My Hand," and "Gangsta Rap" definately weren't "Say Hi to the Bad Guy" tracks. And after Daren Vegas remixed "So Damn Hood," it is pretty safe to assume that both original versions of "So Damn Hood" that appeared on here probably wouldn't have been used on "Say Hi to the Bad Guy either (had it been released). What I object to, is the statement that "Basically its a lot of stuff that this dude had that was made in the same years Say Hi To The Bad Guy was recorded. Most of these tracks wouldn't have appeared on this album, and its pretty clear that some of these tracks are different artists featuring Crooked I." There has been no proof that most of these tracks weren't recorded for "Say Hi to the Bad Guy." I think the fact that most of these tracks were to be featured on both "Say Hi to the Bad Guy" bootlegs indicates that the majority of them probably were recorded for "Say Hi to the Bad Guy." We can only state with reasonable certainty that 4 out of 15 tracks weren't really going to be included on the album. Again, let me stress that I'm not saying the other 11 tracks definately were for "SHTTBG." I'm merely stating that as of right now, you can't prove that they weren't.

Some of these tracks are really not meant to be on the album though, it's not common knowledge but there's a lot of reliable sources regarding some of these tracks.

Well, I'll admit, I'm far from an expert. Are there others besides the four I mentioned? And if so, can you name which ones they are? I still think the majority of these songs are album tracks. Maybe there's more than just the four. But I bet out of 15 songs, more of them are album tracks than are not.

I'm getting lost with all the posts, but here is my opinion on the whole thing.
We know there were at least two albums worth of Say Hi To The Bad Guy material. Now, I am speaking just from my beliefs, even though I have loose facts and reasoning.
On the FTP release I believe that "Dollaz In My Hand", "Gangsta Rap (OG)", both "So Damn Hoods" and "Take The Title" would not have appeared on a finalized version of Say Hi To The Bad Guy. I DO believe that we would have seen "Hood Star" (the WIDE Awake version), "Bitch", "Me & My Dogg" and probably "I'm So Crooked" although that's just because I think it sounds album quality. However, we know this isn't the finalized version of "I'm So Crooked". As far as the other songs, I don't have any REAL proof, but they just do not sound like they were meant for Crooked's album. It sounds like "La La" was an Eastwood track and "Frontline" as well as "Boss Me Up" sound like Kurupt left-overs. There is nothing disproving that the other songs weren't meant for the project though, they were more than likely meant for the project. Although Mike Toreno's recent information is interesting and worth considering.
There are also tracks that are missing from the tracklisting. These tracks include "Live From Tha Row", "Slap Back", "I Shoulda Made You My Wife" and a rumored track called "Another Day In The LBC" which I have no information about, but a title. Additionally we know there are tracks recorded for the Say Hi To The Bad Guy sessions featuring Murder Inc artists as well as a Jadakiss and a Scarface track which were mentioned before the album's original public release date. There are a few additional tracks mentioned, but because I can find no additional information that proves they are nothing more than hearsay I won't even mention them.
Now you have the LSN / DRF project, which includes songs like "Thug & His Wife", "Cali Luv 3", "Do It Again", "Fuck Em", "Fuck With You", etc. I have no information regarding these tracks to disprove them. So I can't argue that those were not meant for the album. The track that they leaked "Who Wants to Fuck Tonight (OG)" was meant for Say Hi To The Bad Guy at one point, but later removed. This is common knowledge. Without confirmation we'd only be able to speculate whether or not they are meant for the album by the way they sound.
Now aside from the LSN / DRF project, FTP release and tracks I mentioned above we know there are at the very least 30 other tracks that COULD have been for Say Hi To The Bad Guy. This number was reached through the leaked Death Row inventory documents as well as additional research I've done over the years. Now it's quite possible that some of the tracks are titled incorrectly on the DRF & FTP release, but once again, I do not believe there's any supporting evidence to support that.
I know I forget to mention a whole bunch of stuff, but I'm mad tired and can't remember everything off the top of my head. However, I think that some of this reasoning is at least worth considering when making a judgement on how legitimate the FTP release actually is. Bottom line, yes, some of those tracks more than likely were for Say Hi To The Bad Guy and some were not. We DO know that there is TONS of music left off of their copy. There could be some sure-hit classics left off of these projects. From a fan stand-point I truly do not believe that this was the best Crooked recorded on Death Row. We've heard some Untouchable songs and snippets as well as some of Daz Dillingers copy of Say Hi To The Bad Guy and there are some timeless classics in those collections. To label that "mixtape" that FTP sold as Crooked I's final body of work on Death Row seems unreasonable, because it would almost say that he took a step backward.
Like I said, this is my beliefs on the subject. I am not a former employee of Death Row, just a fan who has done a lot of research.
-
definitely not the final tracklisting. production isnt consistent, and it sounds more like a featuring crooked i album.
-
Why can't Daz just drop his Say Hi To The Bad Guy since there is no dispute on the tracklisting? LOL!
-
haha daz is somewhat scared of crooked (indirectly)
-
I think SOME, not all, but SOME of that Clint Dogg stuff is conspiracy theory though, got to be honest.
Explain, i dont get it. What parts are just consp?

I agree with you on "Dollas N' My Hand," "Gangsta Rap (OG)," Both "So Damn Hood (OG)'s" and "Take the Title" (I forgot to mention that one earlier), all not being intended for this album.
I also agree that "Hood Star," "Bitch," and "Me and My Dog" were all probably meant to be on the album (at least at one time).
Also agree that it's pretty much confirmed that "Who Wants to Fuck Tonight (OG)," was at one time a "SHTTBG" track, but was later moved to the "Dysfunktional Family" soundtrack.
However, I'm not so sure about "La La," "Boss Me Up," and "Frontline" not being intended for the album. This is definitely possible, but difficult to say for sure. Personally I don't think "Boss Me Up" and "Frontline" are Kurupt tracks because even though he makes appearances on them, he hardly raps. I would concur though that the possibility is probably a little greater that "La La" is an Eastwood track. Although it's not necessarily so, just because Eastwood has more lines in the song. But I have to admit, it seems like a definite possibility.
Personally, I believe that "Thug and His Wife," "Cali Luv 3," "Do it Again," "Fuck 'Em," "Fuck With You," "Haters," and "Live from the Row," were all recorded for "Say Hi to the Bad Guy," although it's impossible to say how many of them would have made it onto the final album if it had been released.
I agree that there's definitely tracks missing from both, including "Should Have Made You My Wife," and "Slap Back." I personally had never heard of "Another Day in LBC," but I don't doubt it. Especially since we still don't know which tracks were supposed to feature Scarface, Nas, or Jadakiss.
All in all, you make some good points. There still isn't concrete evidence, but your logic seems sound. I guess I'm partially just surprised that everyone else is surprised about this not being the official album. For one thing, FTP put it out. So it stands to reason that it probably wouldn't have been a perfectly correct tracklist. Either way, it's an album-worth of Crooked I tracks that no one had before.

Shout out to the homie (who shall remain nameless) for makin this all possible. And shout out to Crooked I!
Nameless? doesn't matter. People know who he is, and he's now banned. This guy does know that there's a Say Hi To The Bad Guy with:
So Damm Hood (remix)
Jack 101
Live at Tha Row
Slap Back
Welcome to LA
Shoulda Made You My Wife
etc. etc.
other people do have this material, so at the end of the day it could have came from the other source supplying it, but since not, I guess this guy should enjoy his 3 minutes of net fame, while he's forgotten about and others get to enjoy the percs of purchasing the rarer, and more sought after Crooked I material :)

i think 'still the row' shoulda been on SHTTBG.. it would have made a good 1st track 2 the album..

Here's my quick review after listening to this CD:
01) Hoodstar OG - Good track, but I've expected something more from Crook on this one as it was supposed to be his first single back in the day.. it's a nice track tho, this version had some more bass added to the previous one released by WideAwake. Crooked raps are on point and Tamara Savage does a nice hook - overall I rate this song 3/5
02) I'm So Crooked - Now that's the shit I want to hear from "Mr. I-C-O-N" 8)! Even tho the song was leaked some time ago by DeathRowFinest I'm STILL bangin' that one and just can't stop! Great beat and dope raps from Crook makes it perfect - 5/5
03) Boss Me Up - it's really a Kurupt track with features from Crook, Wood and Scoe but it bangs hard! Shame it was scrapped from Against Tha Grain cause it would fit the album perfectly! Eastwood steal this one with his verse, but Kurupt & Crook both come close.. Great track 5/5
04) La La - More of a Eastwood track featuring Crooked I but it's nice - didn't really liked the beat but it's always good to hear "East The Beast" and Crooked I collabo.. 3/5
05) So Damn Hood OG - Finally OG version in CDQ! Been waiting for this to drop prolly since 2004.. Hutch beat is so far better from D. Vegas remake that it really feels like listen to a new song - great! 4/5
06) Take The Tittle - A diss song from Row inmatez to Lenox Lewis, it's a good one. Eastwood comes with the best verse, I assume it was written from a Tyson perspective after listen to it.. Crooked also comes hard but his verse been known for years.. Ganxsta Ridd is wack tho with lines like "Tyson is a gangsta nigga and Lenox Lewis is a bitch nigga", not really a creative rhymes - 3,5/5
07) Suge's West Coast - Prolly my biggest disapointment on this CD.. I've expected it to be a stand-out of the album, a vicious song but the beat and chours are wack, just can't feel this one.. shame - 2/5
08) Lil' Youngstaz - Again more of a Eastwood tack but still a good song. Great chours by Ray J with some nice adlibs from Michel'le and good verses from both Crooked I & Eastwood.. Even Spider Loc suprised me on this one with a ok apperance :) 4/5
09) Bitch - Another good one, really feelin' the beat on this track. All rapers come out correctly with their verses but Short Dog shines on it in my opinion.. 4/5
10) So Damn Hood OG Solo - This is the best version of the song that I've heard. The beat bangs even harder and without Sisqo gay ass hook, I can listen to it over and over again ;D 5/5
11) House Party - A dope track from Eastoowd featuring Crooked I. Great beat from Big Hutch gives this song smooth vibe, lovin' it! 4,5/5
12) Dollaz In My Hands OG - Never really liked that one. It was recorded for Untouchable album, it's a good song but it just don't move me like that, don't know why.. 3/5
13) Frontline - Again, more of a "feat. Crooked I" type of track but it's good.. I assume it was recorded durning the ATG sessions but I like it. Good beat + dope verse from Eastwood = 3/5
14) Me & My Dog OG - Great way to end the album! Dope, mellow track dedicated to the memory to Big Buntry [RIP]. I believe it was played at his funeral.. beautiful chours by Ray J and great, deep lyrics by both - Crooked I and Eastwood. It's a type of track I would love to see 'Pac spitting on it... 5/5
Overall, the whole album is pretty good. We all know this isin't the actual Say Hi To The Bad Guy, just a compilation of songs from Row era put together by FTP. The highlights of this CD are def "I'm So Crooked", "Boss Me Up", "So Damn Hood OG", " House Party" and "Me & My Dogg" - the biggest disapointment to me is "Suge's West Coast" but overall I rate this compilation 3,9/5 8)

love that 'house party' track...why didnt hutch produce a banger like that for his own solo albums i wonder...or the later above the law projects.. :-\

Jack 101... Ain't that an Untouchable track?

so what`s the mystery with track 14 (Gangsta Rap OG)? it can't be found anywhere
It's Crooked I's alternate verse of Dogg Pound's "Gangsta Rap" from the 2002 album.

Why can't Daz just drop his Say Hi To The Bad Guy since there is no dispute on the tracklisting? LOL!
I agree btw. What is Daz really holding on to this for? He originally was going to release it to try to undermine the sales of the Death Row "Say Hi to the Bad Guy." Now that it never came out and Suge doesn't even own the label anymore, why still hold onto the tracks. If he doesn't want to leak them, he could at least sell them as a project.

Who knows why Daz does the things he does... He could be holding on to it in the event Crooked I ever drops an album to capitalize off the hype?
This is QUALITY material though, people really need to hear it.

Yeah. I'd love to hear "Cold Game" in cdq. That clip they posted on DPGRecordz back in the day, was so heavily tagged that even the clip was completely butchered.

Actually some of these songs aren't even Death Row era... "Did You Eva Think" was on the vinyl for DJs And MCs which dropped in 1998. "Uh Oh" is on Escape From Death Row, which isn't "Death Row Records". However, he had just started fucking with Tha Row around that time right? It's also been debated that "Death Rizzo (Remix)" is fan made and not even real. If actually sounds like someone just built a beat on top of the old one.
It's a nice mixtape though...

"Uh Oh" is from the time that Crook was fuckin with Death Row/DPG if i'm right. I heard too that the remix of "Death Rizzo" is fan made, it don't matter though, it's fuckin bangin and way better then the original version. Crooked should be asked about that track.

Yeah, but some of the songs on my CD have better quality than the previous ones - this project was about "Quality" from the day one.. Anyway, props to everybody who liked that album. I didn't expect it to do so well, I made it for the DubCnn community and now shit's every fuckin' where 8)

Yeah pretty obvious this was fanmade unlike that fanmade mix of So Damn Hood which was actually kinda nice.

Is the Me and My Dogg on the bootleg the original? The one on the sampler on youtube has K-Ci on the hook as well.

"Uh Oh" dropped in '99, which your right is during the DPG days. I was just pointing out that the song itself isn't a song from "Death Row Records" or even "DPG Records".

I think K-Ci was added later. So this is either the original, or it's just missing that vocal layer.
-
i'm not well versed on crooked's material. is this ftp release anything new or just old tracks thrown together.
i was looking forward to this release as a way to catch up and hear some of crooked's best material from that era but it sounds half assed from what people are saying.

There is a lot of material on FTP's release that was previously unheard. I think the only tracks on there that had already been heard up to that point where "Hoodstar," and "I'm So Crooked." Although even "Hoodstar" on here is a little different.

I actually heard K-Ci's vocals were the originals and they were half assed so they got replaced, but I don't know if that's true.

You had these tracks even before the original Death Row Finest / Los Skanless Native project was being offered?
-
1- Hood Star - 3/5 - tight rhymes, weak hook, average beat
2- I'm So Crooked - 5 /5 - heater
3- Boss Me Up - 3.5/5 - cool track, solid, has to be a Kurupt track
4- La La - 3.5/5 - ok beat, dope hook, has to be an Eastwood track
5- So Damn Hood (OG) - 4.5/5 - banger but Sisqo was a mistake, should've used K Ci or even Tyrese.
6- Take The Title - 3/5 cool beat, ridd and the hook sucked
7- Suge's West Coast - 3/5 ok track gon be skipped most times to be honest
8- Lil Youngstaz - 4/5 cool track im feeling it
9- Bitch feat - 3.5/5 - solid, too short and crook cant hate it-beat couldve been better
10- So Damn Hood (OG Solo) - 5/5 heater, big hutch snapped
11- House Party - 4.5/5 banger, Hutch did his thing again
12- Dollas In My Hand - 2.5/5 - standard generic club song, this was meant for untouchable album
13- Frontline - 2/5 - awful hook, boring beat, i would leave this in the vault for a bit.
14- Me & My Dogg (OG) - 4.5/5 another dope "tribute to dead homies" Death Row song.
overall 7.5/10
-
13- Frontline - 2/5 - awful hook, boring beat, i would leave this in the vault for a bit.
BORING BEAT? WFT!!! MAN IMO YOUR WRONG ,THE BEAT IS FIRE

Eastwood outshined the fuck outta Crooked on this whole album. Wood set the tone for every track, did the first verse, did most of the hooks, Ray J made every song he was on (except "Bitch!") a lot better. Crook was like a guest on his own album. I think the album most people are hoping for is "Untouchable".

So you don't consider "Deep Cover" and "Keep Their Heads Ringin" Death Row songs, just cuz they wasn't on a Death Row album? "Uh Oh" could be considered as a Death Row/DPG era track.
-
"Uh Oh" was recorded before he signed with Death Row so it definitely isnt a DR song.
Matter of fact the compilation it was on was called "escape from death row" ironically enough. I think it was recorded in 98.

Yeah, we all know that. BUT Crooked I been around Death Row since the "Murder Was The Case" days, kickin' it with Snoop Doggy Dogg & Big C-Style.
That's why i consider it a song from the Death Row/D.P.G. era.

Good call on the "Bitch" track being previously heard. I forgot to mention that one. I didn't include "So Damn Hood" because the two mixes on the FTP cd are so different than the final, and only the one with Sisqo had been previously heard. And that was in crap quality.

Yeah, but just cause you kick it with someone signed to another label doesn't mean that your on that label tool. So, basically your saying all the material Crooked I recorded after Virgin Records is Death Row era... Not quite. Death Row era didn't start until he signed.

LOL, How could you not know they were rare? Whenever someone talks about So Damn Hood the very first thing that someone says is, "I wish I could have the Big Hutch" version.
Not to mention absolutely no one was ever mentioning the other tracks except for insiders.
It's all good though homie... 8)

these were available before...atleast i had them
You had these tracks even before the original Death Row Finest / Los Skanless Native project was being offered?
yes :D
didnt know tey were "rare" at all to be honest
LOL, How could you not know they were rare? Whenever someone talks about So Damn Hood the very first thing that someone says is, "I wish I could have the Big Hutch" version.
Not to mention absolutely no one was ever mentioning the other tracks except for insiders.
It's all good though homie... 8)
i DL every Crooked I project i see
those tracks were available to others AT SOME POINT IN TIME lol - not sure why others didnt find them like i did lol.
-
^^^^ I dont believe you Hack, sorry dude but nah you didnt have them tracks until they leaked!
-
^^^^ I dont believe you Hack, sorry dude but nah you didnt have them tracks until they leaked!
Although, it's very possible that perhaps someone posted the songs on a forum and didn't know what they were posting and a few people got their hands on them. Who knows.
I just find it strange that The Dynasty Online Community didn't have these tracks and someone else did... Seems a little odd.
I was a regular member of the Death Row forum and a day one member of Dynasty Online Community and know that So Damn Hood OG never leaked on those sites PUBLICLY, meaning out in the open. Don't know about the other tracks, but like you I download every Crooked project as well.
Doesn't matter anyway, they are leaked now. 8)
-

1-ive been collected crooked i tracks since 2003 man, ive came across damn near everything...alot of this shit was new to me but not all of it
2-don't really careif you believe me or not, we'll never meet in real life
-
Yeah, but just cause you kick it with someone signed to another label doesn't mean that your on that label tool. So, basically your saying all the material Crooked I recorded after Virgin Records is Death Row era... Not quite. Death Row era didn't start until he signed.
I didn't mean it like that but fuck it, forget it.
-
Yeah, but some of the songs on my CD have better quality than the previous ones - this project was about "Quality" from the day one.. Anyway, props to everybody who liked that album. I didn't expect it to do so well, I made it for the DubCnn community and now shit's every fuckin' where 8)
[/quote]
yep..it made its way to ebay also
-
LOL @ anyone who BUYS THIS SHIT off ebay fucking fools can get it for FREE
-

no doubt....but i bet he sold a few copies, i think it was a buy it now price for $5 at least they didnt get fucked to hard
-
who Really runs ftpe ? I heard 2 people.
cause 101 said publicaly on mrmakaveli.net that he ONLY HAD 4 UNHEARD CROOK SONGS...where did he get the others?
-
Damn so crooked cant hold an album all by himself, 5 million guests.
Im only playin i love Crooked I's music but u kno if this was a Game album it would be getting a ton of hate. Other than someone to do the chorus i dont see why they put so many guests on every song, if anyone can hold their own, its Crook.
and btw we really need a Eastwood album.

I'm guessing that was probably Suge's idea. I think he was planning on using "SHTTBG" as a "springboard" for his other artists.
-
Well who's to say these songs were meant for the album?their just random tracks thrown together and called say hi to the bad guy. This is not the real album
-

True.
-
A ton of guests on Say Hi to the Bad Guy was Suges idea to get as many units sold as possible. The Untouchable album, which sounds a lot better than the Say Hi tracks ive h eard to be honest, had only 2 guests on the entire album.
-
How can you know that when we don't know the final tracklist for either album?this is all speculation. We don't know if any of the songs on this project would be on the final album
-
I think its pretty obvious that this isnt the offical albumk the way crooked or deathrow would of originally put it out. Aside from the fact most of the track seem to be either someone else's or meant for a compilation. There is no track with ja rule or jadakiss scarface three confirmed guest spots.
Secondly it was my understanding that like untouchable SHTTBG was actually recorded twice once with imput from daz (hence the version daz marketed) and one when suge got out daz left.suge said it needed to improve and they needed to do bigger things such as the guests of ja rule and jada.
-
blame Gangsta Boogy for the major fail
but give him props for giving us unreleased shit

upp

i'm not well versed on crooked's material. is this ftp release anything new or just old tracks thrown together.
i was looking forward to this release as a way to catch up and hear some of crooked's best material from that era but it sounds half assed from what people are saying.
There is a lot of material on FTP's release that was previously unheard. I think the only tracks on there that had already been heard up to that point where "Hoodstar," and "I'm So Crooked." Although even "Hoodstar" on here is a little different.
-im so crooked

i was hoping for Hutch to rap on it LOL
-
The hutch version has a deeper, fuller sound where as the Vegas one just sounds hollow.Listen to it on something better then computer speakers and you can hear it
-
Vegas used completely different drums on his version, it's very watered down. Hutch used a nice synth too.
They are the same patterns, Vegas just recreated what Hutch did originally.
After not hearing the Hutch version for so long when I finally heard it recently I remember thinking, "Wow, this is really how the song was supposed to sound." Vegas isn't a bad producer, but you can really tell that his beat wasn't meant for the track.

The Hutch version goes hard on my car system, especially the version of the beat without Sisqo! You probably noticed that the beats are slightly different on the Sisqo and without Sisqo versions.
-
I did.I've got the beats by dre headphones and I notice every small difference in them.

Worth every penny.I never listen to music without them these days. The clarity and crispness of the sound is incredible.I'm not kidding when I say its like listening to albums for the first time again. They have a deep, rich bass level that's never overpowering.I listen to a variety of music and they handle every genre beautifully.I highly recommend them

See, that's the thing, if the bass is as good as you say then I might consider the purchase, but I've had some great headphones for mid to high range over the years, but they all seemed to lack on identifying the lows. Do you seem to get the full range of lows on them?
-
They do,like I said they handle everything very well.I've put the headphones on peoples head during songs with especially low bass such as crooked I creased khaki flow and I always get questioned if they have a subwoofer in the headphones. But they never sacrifice the crisp sound like say the skull candy headphones with the sub which tend to distort the highs.

The Darren Vegas version of So Damn Hood also differs in that it has a cheesy bass line that sounds out of place.

It's not a bad song, but it's terrible vocal quality on the hook, almost like it wasn't mixed. Probably an unfinished version?

Maybe in light of the recent leaks, Widewake will choose to release the "Untouchable" album ahead of "Say Hi to the Bad Guy."

We'll see next month. That "Chronic: Re-lit" is supposed to drop sometime in June. I think Wideawake is doing a sucky job communicating with the fans about what their plans are. But I do think they will come through with at least a couple projects, in the beginning. How many they do after that will depend on how many people actually buy the first couple.

Yeah, they have ZERO net presence other than that half assed flash website with the old music videos on it.
They need to get an official site up, news updates, FORUM, online downloads. They need the fan communication.

Yeah. Lol. I know you and I both have been barking up this tree for a while now. I wish they'd go ahead and put up a website. That was part of their big plans in the beginning. They were going to have a website were fans could download unheard tracks. But so far, nothing. But you got to figure that if they plan to put out unreleased Dre songs for fans to put themselves on the third verse, they must still plan to have a website at some point. Because they've already stated that the fan mixes won't appear on the actual album. And since their "Chronic" re-release is supposed to be dropping soon, you would figure this website would finally be along shortly. But, I guess we'll see.
-
they're still doing a better job than death row post 1999 LOL
once Still I Rise and Chronic 2000 dropped, all death row did was put out a bunch of "Best of" compilations
sans too gangsta 4 radio which sold like 20,000 copies haha

I'm hoping I'm wrong, but right now they have me a little worried about their future. They seem to have some great ideas and sound motivated. However, it just worries me that they are being so secretive and not even reaching out. I mean they won't even respond to fan e-mails even though they CLAIM they answer each e-mail. Do you realize how hard it was to track down that 3-track promotional release. I had to contact multiple stores directly to even confirm it's existence.

Get over it bitch, its just music. It'll all leak eventually.
