last year:
Eminem Feat. Nate Dogg - Shake That
this year:
Eminem Feat. Akon - Smack That
It's official, Eminem even co-signs.
-
Akon sounds like a whiny bitch. I'll take Nate Dogg over him anyday.
-
Hasn't this discussion been brought up about 25 times? If Akon is still relevant in 10 years i'll begin to listen to this arguement. Nate has been on WAY too many classics - Akon ain't nowhere close to his league bruh.
oh and one other thing:
Akon sounds like a whiny bitch.

Exactly, man. A few years back, people were making noise about Sisqo being the next big thing, and we see what happened to him. Akon has only reached Sisqo status so far.
-
that fuck you joint is good
-
I guess it's no mystery!... Nate Dogg is the bomb!
all you haters can miss me, I'll smoke until the mornin comes
Nate anyday, Akon's annoying
-
nates untouchable, hes in a leauge by himself,
people said the same about tq, he disapeared of the radar
-
NATE>>>>>>>>>>>>>AKON
for damn sure... akon gets annoying... he doesnt have a voice like nate... Nate is more universal
-
Right now: Akon>> Nate easilly.
That Nate hook on Games joint was completley wack. The snippet of that Snoop song with Nate--> Nate sounds wack again.
-
Wack thread.
-
akon doesnt have enough history to be compared to nate..
-
Akon is just the man of the moment, overall:
Nate>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Akon
Nate's still got it, listen to Black Mercedes on Trauma.
-
Nate sucks these days, but he at least used to be good (and sometimes does a good hook now and then to this day).
Akon, on the other hand, has ALWAYS sucked.
-
Akon is and has always been garbage. How anyone can think he's better than Nate is beyond me.
-
Nate was fuckin ill on Games track.
-
i like akon more then nate at this point in time.
-
Akon>> Nate easilly.
Some people confuse Akon's hype with Nate's legendary status... ^^^
I cant stand Akon's high, pitchy voice! Nate all day>>Akon
-
I said right now. Nates whole catalogue shits on Akons but Im talking about present. And Nate aint doing too good right now.
-
I like Akon a lot. But Come on Nate has been so long in the game, featered on so many classic songs. Lets see in 5 years if Akons still here.
-

And Akon has never really been good, including now, so just because he's been hyped up doesn't make him better than Nate now.
-
funny guy...
-
they both go hard on hooks
-
Akon sounds like a whiny bitch. I'll take Nate Dogg over him anyday.

A good majority of Dubcc is stuck in the past. They cannot and will not see a favorite artist of theirs fall off. Even if that artist has dropped garbage in recent times, they still want to bring up his old shit. It's an on-going battle of people in the present and Uncle Ricos...
-
I've been listening to Akon a lot the past few days. I'm starting to like this guy.

Pssh

Akon's a decent artist, but he's no where in the league of hooks as Nate. Nate has found his niche as that guy for hooks in rap songs. Akon's never gonna take the crown, people are just using him now because he's not afraid to say "fuck" like most of these other gay R&B singers. Notice how the ones who actually say raw, explicit shit (Nate, R Kelly, TQ, Butch Cassidy, Joe sometimes, and now Akon) get hired for hooks on already dirty rap songs. It only makes sense. Also, Akon has the added benefit of being a producer, so people will go to him for a snog, and he can jump on the hook just as easily.
-
Akon is for the bitches.

The Day Akon has half the collaborations, Hooks, Classics features as Nate Dogg, Then well have a discussion!!! Aight!! Nate Dogg is a Legend!! Akon is a rookie!!

akon is dope
but not NATE DOGGs level, not close, maybe right now he doin things more then nate... but nate been puttin out classics since 92
-

likewise. i agree with everyone that more time is needed to tell whether akon will stand the test of time. however, one thing akon has on nate, is that he can successfully release a solo album that actually sells copies. platinum copies at that. i have no doubt in my mind that konvited will go platinum as well. nate is the king of hooks, and always will be. but...when it comes to an all around artist, i think akon is slowly creeping up on nates spot. only time will tell.

-
They both good, but there are just 2 many nate dickriders on this forum ;D
oehh im feeling my karma gonna drop again who cares.
akon is dope and so is nate.
-
ok first and foremost, akon sux dick. i cant beleive people are even comparing him to nate.
nate is my fav artist and always will be.
i think nate doesnt sell as much akon because nate isnt on a major label.
put him up on shady records or aftermath, and i bet he will sell more than that little whiny akon bitch
i still wonder why nate was never signed to either of those labels... :-\
-
^Nate never made it big because he lacks good looks, charisma, producer-skills.
-
Actually Akon has surpassed Sisqo status...Sisqo was on 2 hit songs in his whole career....Thong Song and What These Bitches Want with DMX...Akon started out with Locked Up then Lonely then I wanna Fuck You....Smack That....Shakedown
Akon's makin' noise....he keeps gettin' more and more popular....and better....he's here toSTAY.

I dunno about good looks. No homo, but Akon looks like Starvin' Marvin. That ain't a good look.
-
Yup! Nate D-O double G anyday....akon has the same type of chorus hook on "Cross That Line" and "Snitch".....c'mon now....gotta switch it up "Akon n Grilled Cheesy".....hahah...fuckin Wild N Out
