you know what is even more sad, is the fact that so much food is wasted in America everyday. And America is full of fat ass people. My roomate works at the cafeteria of the college and he says every night they throw out hella leftover food...but they won't let the student's take any home.
here is another thing:
Our government has to pay some people to produce a certain amount of some things to keep the economy intact. Take wheat for example. there may be more profitable things for farmers to produce rather then wheat, and so the government has to pay these farmers so that they produce a certain amount of wheat. A lot of the wheat becomes surplus and won't sell, and so it just ends up sitting in government wherehouses. They won't give it away to people though because then they lose out on the opportunity to sell it. so it just sits in the wherehouses and goes bad, and then they throw it away. U gotta love the logic in that one.

yeah I was about to mention the same thing as AcGrundy... ma grand dad was tellin me about that when I was in india. about how America can't sell a lot of the food because many countries cannot afford to buy a lot. But at the same time if they sold it very cheap the richer countries won't want to pay the normal price for them. Economics can be fucked up. We humans have made life so complex for ourselves.

Trauma did you even read the article? It said the US will only increase aid to the countires who pass a set of qualifications, which I think is good, BUT what about the people who have to live under corrupt rule in countries who don't comply with Bush's rules. They get no help.
Its a nice idea but turning aid into a business isn't the way to go.

You can't help everybody. Thank GOD we're trying to help all we can. God bless the U.S.A.!
