50 Cent Signs With Eminem And Dr. Dre
June 19, 8 p.m. ET, Launch
Queens-based rapper 50 Cent, who was previously signed to the Trackmasters' Columbia Records-distributed imprint, has inked a new deal with Eminem and Dr. Dre. 50 Cent's official sophomore album will be released on Shady Records/Aftermath Entertainment and distributed through Interscope Records. Earlier this year, a collection of the rapper's freestyles and some newly recorded material were packaged together and released as Guess Who's Back?
50 Cent's debut, Power Of The Dollar, came out in 1999 but suffered due to bootlegging and poor promotions. The rapper's new set, which is scheduled for a fourth-quarter 2002 release, will feature the production of Dr. Dre, Eminem, and Sha Money XL.

Wow. This should be interesting. Dre and Em would rather work on putting out a 50 Cent album rather then a Hittman album. hhhhmmmm... sounds shady to me! (get it.. Shady.. ) ok, bad joke.. but seriously.. no HITT, but they fuckin with 50 Cents? Thats kinda wack.. although.. this could be a dope release. We will have to wait and see.
Ax

Dre should be concentratin on westcoast artists...all he do is working with these eastcoast cats, he should work with Hittman instead, or Ras Kass, or some other tight westcoast MC..
-
50 Cent is ill, ive said it before and ill say it again this cats got skills, watch him go at Tha Row if they speak his name.
-
This is kinda off subject but i don't get the big deal Hittman was not that great actually id rather hear from 6'2 than Hittman iwas not impressed in the slightest. I also feel 50 Cent is most certainly better.
-
Why the fuck are Eminem signing 50 Cent... LOL ain't he the fool who dissed Jay-Z as a publicity stunt, LOL... this is fuckin' unbelievable. He's wack as fuck, and ain't gonna push units, even when accompanied with Em & Dre. I'm still looking for a reason WHY the fuck Em signed him... dunno if I'll ever find one. Dumb move.
-
50 cent ain't my favourite rapper, but ALOT of people are fiendin for him, lots of peeps really think he is the next shit. He didn't just dis Jay-Z either, he dissed everyone. Its all good, he can make good songs too, and i think this signing will prove to be a very smart and lucrative one for Dre and Eminem.
-
I aint never heard n e of his shit.
-
like we are really gonna see this album come out...just like hittman, eve, kingt...and where is rakim...if we see it it'll take forever...dre is either lazy or too busy or really slow
-
Yea lol, yall really think they gonna release a 50 cent album on Shady/Aftermath? he might do some guest appearances, but not an album. I doubt they will let him release an album if they didnt let King T or Hittman do his thang.

50 cent is fuckin aight... listen to his track with Madd Rapper called "how to rob" where he just dissin everyone! He comes off fuckin tight, spittin some ill rhymes. With Dre produckin for him, he could very well be on the rise
"I rob Pun without a gun, snatch his piece and run, this nigga weigh 400 pounds, how he gon catch me son?" -50 cent
LOL, I'm lovin that line!!! Seriously yall, listen to "How To Rob", and see his skills
-
if eminem had sense he wud sign Hittman to Shady Records and get his album done,
-
they'll get him to go at tha row that's why. dude already took 9 shots & beat the hell outta ja rule.

i wonder if Em & Dre regrets signing 50 and wishes they would've taken some of you guys' advice and rolled with Hittman instead lol

That's insane. Dre and Em are business people. How many albums has 50 sold? 17 million in the US alone? 25 million world wide? He's sold more albums in the last 6 years then any other rap artist. So how exactly would Em or Dre regret signing the biggest selling rap artist in the last half decade? Not to mention all those G-Unit sales. I'm not trying to dick ride here, but Hittman would've barely gone gold. And no one can honestly say they would have signed Hittman over 50.

LOL that Lil Jay comment is hilarious.

50 Cent doesn't need to sign to anyone after that 400 or 500 hundred million dollar deal he made with coca cola dude is caked the fuck out and could probably sign Eminem & Dr.Dre with the money he has. I don't like his music but I gotta give him props for staying with the people that put him on in the first place.

It was sarcasm.. geez.. if you read the whole thread.. when this thread first dropped 7 years ago.. people were hating on Dre & Em for signing 50 and putting their time into him instead of putting out a Hittman album.

I hate to quote myself, but have a look up above. I don't like 50, but it was obvious he had star quality, and at that time Dre and Em were still on fire so it was a no-brainer....
